WOW! I am gone for the day at church (we had normal morning church and then this evening we had a worship service to promote the music department's new CD coming out in November) and I come back to find that you all have been VERY busy!

Carol - CONGRATS GIRL!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited for you and Alex! What an awesome celebration for the cruise. Looking forward to congratulating you in person. May you and Craig have many happy years together.

So cool that everyone is starting to seriously pack. I didn't really get much of anything done this weekend that I wanted to. Oh well. I've got this week to get my act together. LOL I wanted to have a box ready to go to UPS tomorrow but will have to postpone it to Tuesday. I'll put the box together tomorrow night when both my DH and I can make a plan. We'll probably get our boarding day shirts done tomorrow night as well. Gonna work on my packing lists some and then I'll also start to pack this week. Next week will be full of stuff so I won't have much time to do the packing then.

Well, my DH is home from church now and I wanna spend some time with him before bed (since it was so crazy today and we were like two ships passing in the night all day). Have a blessed day tomorrow all! Talk to you later! Kristi

Okay, I have to admit I haven't started packing yet. I had a group of teens here at the house tonight for a Bible study and then fed them. NOW, I can pull out the suitcases and start packing !!

Keeping my fingers crossed my TA will call tomorrow and tell me she has my documents.

I've got to get my social cards made. I think it is a great idea to put them in with the adult FE gifts. Now, that makes me not finished with my adult gifts yet.

Congrats Carol!

We started packing a little bit today. Easing some of the stress that was building up...My kids drive me crazy with their clothes. It seems like I buy clothes and then I never see them...then i remember, hey where is this (insert item) and sure enough, now it is too small!! GRRR. probably makes me more frustrated since it is proof that they are growing up quickly. (Also proof that I need to control my shopping)

Busy week ahead. but it's the last full week before our trip! YAY!!

I was wondering if someone can fill me in on the Social Cards? What are you including on these? Are you ordering them or making them?

I remember reading the posts about the social cards but have totally forgot what the were to have on them.

We are getting super excited around here. We are going to the Taylor Swift concert on Friday!!! The tickets were a birthday present for my 10 year old. I don't think she will be reserved like Amaya and Riley. She has never been known to be shy or reserved. It will be myself, my DD 10 and DD 6 going. We will be the mom and daughters group screaming and dancing in our seats .

Off to finish watching this depressing cowboy game. Not a fan of Romo tonight!!!!

Jennifer----have fun at Taylor Swift......my girls are not reserved in that fashion either....But just watch them make liars outta me on the cruise. Actually on our last cruise Feb 2008...sydney(dd-9) was screaming dancing and singing along to the HSM music during the sailaway party.
As for the social cards....not sure what's SUPPOSED to be on them. I designed my own and ordered thru vista. I put my Dis name, family name, address, and email. How much info u include is prolly up to u! I used the pic of the mickey ear sunset and wrote a little Disney quote on them.

I am getting so excited......DH is starting to show excitement....I think we talked cruise all day yesterday..lol He's even excited for the Dis meet....go figure! We were talking ad I said U know U will have to get the kids outta the pool earlier then normal to go to the cruise meet....he's like yeah that's cool! I think he's excited too that there are alot of girls DD-9 and DD-5 age ranges so they could have fun at the clubs if they choose too!

Oh ok question.....besides getting the free button at MK (the one that says 1st visit or birthday button) is there any little freebies I am forgetting about for the nieces??? I know U Disney buffs would remember stuff like that. oh and usually I take a blanket to MNSSHP for the stroller....I dont wanna pack that...what to do what to do!!!

Well my weekend is almost over back to work tomorrow. Then only 9 shifts to work, we are almost ready just a few odds and ends to get but nothing important have spent the whole weekend shopping struggled to get shoes to match my formal dress went to Glasgow yesterday about 80 miles from home to get them only to be told they did n't have my size but there store in Edinburgh had them so today off to Edinburgh which is about 60 miles away but I have them now.

We have almost packed everything but have found out Virgin have a size restriction on their luggage and ours are about an inch too big so need to find out if we will have to get new cases hope not as we have only used the ones we have twice.

We got our flight tickets on Thursday but our dog got them first so they have holes in them now lol.

Wondering if you could tell me we have connecting flights glasgow to gatwick but on the ticket it says 1 case only per person but on our main flight to Orlando we can have 2 each so a bit confused.

Got a call from my sister last night to let me know she had arrived safely on Friday she is staying at Port Orleans If she calls again I will find out what it is like.

Your luggage allowance depends on whether the domestic flights have been issued on the same ticket as the international flights or on separate tickets. If they have been issued on separate tickets, then the domestic flight would go by the weight concept and you would be allowed 20 kg. If the flight is on BA then it would be restricted to one piece as well. If everything is on one ticket, the piece concept should be applied, which means two pieces weighing a maximum of 23kg per piece thoughout. If everything is on one ticket, I would just give the ticketing airline a quick ring to confirm this.

Well, today is our single digit day for our vacation. We booked this nearly 11 months in advance and at times I wondered if this day would ever arrive. In 9 days time we are hopefully on the plane to Florida just taking off.

I am still not quite done with my preparations. The main gift is all done now, but I still have to finish off the older boys' gift (yes, I know, I have been saying this for weeks) and have to do the labels for the late joiners. DH is away on business over night so when I get home from work at about 9PM, I will have a late dinner, put my Angels and Demons DVD on and get the last few things finished off.

I only have to work three days before I have two days off again. I intend to do my packing then as I have to work the weekend and on the Tuesday I will go straight from work to the airport hotel. So there is not much time left after those days off. Only 6.5 work days to go

I ended up getting the Crocs with the heels yesterday. They look stunning and are really comfortable.

I never thought that I would find heels that I can actually wear. I will wear those for formal night and semi formal night.

Right, I better get going. I need to have a shower and some lunch before I go to work. Hopefully my Fish Extender and DH's embarkation shirt will be waiting for me

I have never seen these. I have seen crocs with some heel but they looked like shoes you wear to the pool. These look nice.

I forgot about the birthday buttons for MK. It will actually be my girls birthday so where do I get those buttons at? I just have to pack myself and then we are all done. I just didnt want to do it too early because then I am stuck ironing everything because it sat too long in the suitcase.

Are social cards just something with your name and address on them? I did put address labels on the plastic of my adult fe gifts.

Congratulations Carol! Great news and good timing for the cruise!

I got my FE and pillowcase on Saturday. I didn't even go check the mail until 8:00 PM and there they were waiting for me. They are both so cute. Andrea had her girls and Amaya out shopping so the first thing I did was text her to tell her I got it and they all stopped by on their way home to see it. DH did not quite understand what we were getting so excited about.

I also got my adult FE gifts done and bubble wrapped (yes they are breakable) and now I'm reading about these social cards. I guess I should have stuck something in the bags...too late now. I'll probably just drop a card in everyones FE when I deliver my gifts with my info on it.

How do you all pack so early and not have everything wrinkled? I've got alot of my stuff laid out on the bed in the spare room but not "packed" yet.

Well I better get off this couch and get ready for work. Last full week of work and then only 2 1/2 days next week See you all soon!

Well, I have my kids packed, and I am almost packed. I usually make my DH pack himself....I have enough to worry about. I will make sure all this dinner clothes are included and that's about it.

I think I am trying to wear myself out before this vacation. I am really need it! Between my oldest sons football, my new business & getting ready for this cruise I am worn out. But yet I am beyond excited

Got mine and my boys hair cut yesterday!!! I love all these last minute details getting done. It just means it's getting increadibly close.

Well I am off to do laundry then to do a little more packing and to work on our ipod and iphone for the cruise...gotta get some entertainment on there for the kiddos for the plane and stuff

Anyone have a packing list?

Do you have a Passporter? There are some good lists in the back of the book. There's one I found linked here on DIS, but it didn't "fit" our family and needs.

I was wondering if someone can fill me in on the Social Cards? What are you including on these? Are you ordering them or making them?

When I read about social cards, I though it was a great idea. On past cruises, DH has always given people his business card if we wanted to communicate after the cruise. We can all give them out, including DD(9) as she makes friends on the cruise.

So, I made my own and printed them on Office Depot business card stock (I already had some at home). I included our names, phone, website and email. I put in the water Mickey icon that says "Sailing with Mickey" on it, along with the date of the cruise.

I made DD's costume and it turned out SO cute! My mother was impressed that I came up with the idea to turn a t-shirt into a vest all on my own (I'm not usually crafty unless I read about the idea first). We also found a breaded headband with feathers on the end at Claire's (it's actually called "Hippie Headband") along with a peace symbol necklace. DH and I won't be dressing up. I'd like to, but I'm not willing to take up the space nor spend $50 on a costume, since we don't have any at home.

I suppose I could do what I did a few years ago, and wear my shirt with the dotted design. I put my make-up on in dots as well and wore a name tag that said 'Hello, my name is ART' (I was an impressionist painting). But, I have a feeling most of the adult stuff will be after late dining, which usually ends up being too late for us early birds!

Hope everyone has a great week! Only one more weekend to get through and then we're all there!!!!

Well I started on the kids FE stuff last night, and man is it time consuming. I only got 17 done and I worked on them for over an hour. I'm hoping to get them finished by today or tomorrow.
Everyone say a little prayer for Amaya, she is home sick today. And pray that it doesn't spread through their house. (Minfan55) I think she has what went through our house a couple of weekends ago. If it is it shouldn't last too long. Terri, since your staying home today you can get your FE's done.
Ashley has her permit test today... Hopefully she passes because I don't want to have to go back to the DMV next week.

Wow there has been so much going on this board for a while...so much good and bad news....but the overall theme is that we are all ready for this cruise!!!!!

I am very excited....we actually leave this coming Saturday (yes 4 1/2 days from now) to enjoy a week at the parks before the cruise....I finished packing on Saturday...I could leave tomorrow...am soooo happy about that it was a huge accomplishment to finish packing.

So I remember seeing a while ago a post about how we are going to handle any room changes at the port (for FE purposes)....was there an answer to that? How will we know if anyones room gets changed?

Well off to work today, it is going to be one of those days....hope everyone has a great day.

I am sending some pixie dust to Amaya for a quick recovery and more to the family to keep it away from them. I am so afraid of my kiddos getting sick , I have sent them with sanitzer in their backpack and lunchboxes.

JMO I was just wondering the same thing . I was talking to the sis in law to see if she had read anything I may have missed. I remember them asking for suggestions and mentioned to be at the Dis Meet, but I wasn't sure if something had been established for those who miss the meet. Maybe we can have a stateroom per floor that has a list on their door that has any changes to the FE List or just have one stateroom for the whole ship and everyone starts at that room to get the changes?

Andrea, tell Ashley we are sending good vibes her way from Texas to do awesome on her permit test, I am sure will do great and before long she will be an old pro at driving . Before you know it, it will be Riley's turn (and for me Sarah's) to take the test .

Ok, I am off to work on my Social Cards. Have fun to everyone working on their FE's today or packing!!!

I was finalizing our cruise schedule today (yes, I use old Navigators and plan each day) and we might not be able to make the dis meet. If the schedule on our cruise is the same as July, the meet at 3:00 conflicts with the spa seminar and raffle. I just can't pass up an opportunity to save some money considering how much time we spend at the spa.
But, we will be wearing the Dreamers badge in our lanyards, so hopefully we will see one another around the ship.
We are leaving one week from tomorrow!

Hi Corinna

Thanks for the advice I spoke Virgin today. We have booked both flights car hire and hotel for after the cruise with them. The girl I spoke to said we would need to phone BA and check with them as to there luggage allowance. Phoned them really nice lady said why are you phoning it should be your travel agent or who you booked with who contacts us about the booking. She then confirmed that virgin had not booked connecting flights and if we want to take an extra case each we would have to pay about £120.00 we only did connecting to try and save a bit of money. She advised me to call back Virgin and see if they will pay it but by the time I got a chance to phone them the dept I needed to speak to was closed. Will need to phone again tomorrow I want to get it sorted now. We have more luggage than normal with the extra clothes for formal and semi formal nights might have to borrow clothes from other cruisers lol.

The shoes you got are lovely they look so comfy.

Is there anyone else not intending to come meet our wonderful group??? I say if u aren't planning on coming----don't upgrade and switch rooms.....LMAO hey just a suggestion!!!!

Hi all! Hope everyone had a great day today.

Our Sunday night Evening of Worship was awesome! I'm exhausted. Not to mention my voice is so very tired. And, on top of it, I've either got a bad case of allergy issues with drainage and a very scratchy throat or I'm coming down with a cold. Our entire family is going to bed early tonight (something we haven't been able to do for the past 3 nights). So please keep us in your prayers that this just goes away quickly or, if I do get something, that the rest of my clan doesn't.

I think that is a great idea to magnet it to your door...then we can just look and see if anyone has made any corrections in ink (maybe attach a red pen)....I will just look at the one on your door so I don't care if you put one on deck 6 - don't want you to have to do to much work and it may get confusing if someone makes a correction on one and not the other - when you go to pass out the gifts just start on Michelle's floor and look at the list..sounds perfect..thanks Michelle
