I have never seen these. I have seen crocs with some heel but they looked like shoes you wear to the pool. These look nice.
Mindi

This particular style seems to be an European exclusive. They look even nicer in real life and come in 4 different colours.

Well I started on the kids FE stuff last night, and man is it time consuming. I only got 17 done and I worked on them for over an hour. I'm hoping to get them finished by today or tomorrow.
Everyone say a little prayer for Amaya, she is home sick today. :sad2: And pray that it doesn't spread through their house. (Minfan55) I think she has what went through our house a couple of weekends ago. If it is it shouldn't last too long. Terri, since your staying home today you can get your FE's done. ;)
Ashley has her permit test today...:scared1: Hopefully she passes because I don't want to have to go back to the DMV next week.
Well, off to work on kids FE's...have a great day!
Andrea

I hope that Amaya feels better soon and that she does not pass on whatever bug she caught to the rest of the family.

Hi Corinna

Thanks for the advice I spoke Virgin today. We have booked both flights car hire and hotel for after the cruise with them. The girl I spoke to said we would need to phone BA and check with them as to there luggage allowance. Phoned them really nice lady said why are you phoning it should be your travel agent or who you booked with who contacts us about the booking. She then confirmed that virgin had not booked connecting flights and if we want to take an extra case each we would have to pay about £120.00 :scared1::scared1::scared1: we only did connecting to try and save a bit of money. She advised me to call back Virgin and see if they will pay it but by the time I got a chance to phone them the dept I needed to speak to was closed. Will need to phone again tomorrow I want to get it sorted now. We have more luggage than normal with the extra clothes for formal and semi formal nights might have to borrow clothes from other cruisers lol.

The shoes you got are lovely they look so comfy.

Thanks again for your help

Judith

I figured that this is probably what had happened. This is really naughty. Believe you me, the luggage issue might well be the least of your worries. I hope that you have a nice long layover. Are you going via Gatwick? The reason why I ask about the layover is that if your domestic flights are on the same ticket as the international flights, then you are covered as far as delays and cancellations of the domestic flights are concerned and any knock on effect this might have regarding catching your international flight. Essentially if anything goes wrong with your flight and you end up missing your international flight, they have to get you to your destination as quick as possible and have to provide you with meals if you are delayed by more than 4 hours and with accommodation if you are delayed by more than 8 hours. If the domestic flights are issued on a separate ticket and something goes wrong, you are essentially on your own. Virgin knows this. This just makes me so cross. I really expected better of Virgin.

Well, my day has gone from bad to worse. It all started when I got to work and found out that our call recording software has yet again gone up the creek. This is the last month of the quarter as far as the quarterly bonus is concerned, which will be paid out in October. We have until October 7th to hand this in for our teams, but of course I will be at Cozumel that day. So I agreed with my boss that I will hand it in on September 29th and just use data up to September 28th. A large part of the scheme is call quality and I have to monitor 10 calls for each of my 15 team members. For that I get 2 days each month (or that's the plan anyway). In July, I had my days of the floor and the system that we use was down. Not a problem, I had to do some one to ones anyway and there were a number of meetings that I had to schedule. In August my days were re-scheduled due to staff shortages and the new dates were in September. So I finally had my days off the floor and 3 out of 4 days were taken up for the most part with One to Ones, appraisals and meetings. I finally had a whole day to do my call monitoring only to be told half way through that our quality officer had not realised that I was down to monitor calls that day and the engineer was in to fix some bugs on the call recording system. They had to take it down. Unfortunately it still has not come back up. Somehow I managed to do all but the calls of one team member. Eternal optimist that I am, I figured: No problem, I still have two hours off the floor on Tuesday. I do life call monitoring then for the last few calls. Then I read my emails and the person in question had a family emergency and had to go back home on very short notice and won't be back until I am already on vacation

The rest of the day ticked along quite nicely and I was looking forward to getting home, have a Pear Cider, put Angels and Demons on and work on my FE gifts. All seemed to go well until one of my new staff picked a call up with 30 minutes to go where a customer was upset that their seating had been changed. They somehow managed to allocate themselves bassinet positions even though they have no infant and then got upset because they were moved when the seating was needed for a family with infants. Once I realized that my team member had a hard time with the customer and it was home time, I took over the call. The customers argued with me for a further hour. We don't get paid overtime either.

I had forgotten my cellphone at home and DH is away on business. When I got home, I was just about to ring him when I saw that he had texted me 15 minutes earlier that he was heading for bed. So I did not want to risk waking him up.

So instead I head on here and realize that the Panama Canal Cruise that we had set our heart on is just more expensive then what we are willing to pay. Not only that, but the other possible cruises are silly prices as well apart from the Transatlantics, but after doing two of those in 2010, I don't think we need to do another one in 2011. Where is that banging your head against the wall smiley when you need it?

Not all was bad though. DH's embarkation t shirt arrived today in record time. I suddenly got a text at 1:00 am from DH that he cannot sleep. As I am in the same position, I gave him a call back straight away. We both decided that the Panama Canal Cruise is really not an option, but we are now considering doing a back to back Caribbean Cruise over our 13th anniversary in 2011. We should have enough DVC points to pay for one cruise on points and will pay for the other. DH has also promised me that if we are on the Magic on our 13th anniversary (we got married on a Friday 13th), we will renew our wedding vows. That is definitely something to look forward to. So I suppose all is well that ends well.

Corinna

Hi all! Hope everyone had a great day today.

Our Sunday night Evening of Worship was awesome! :) I'm exhausted. Not to mention my voice is so very tired. And, on top of it, I've either got a bad case of allergy issues with drainage and a very scratchy throat or I'm coming down with a cold. :( Our entire family is going to bed early tonight (something we haven't been able to do for the past 3 nights). So please keep us in your prayers that this just goes away quickly or, if I do get something, that the rest of my clan doesn't.

Well, gotta go! :) Take it easy all! Kristi

I hope that you are all just really tired and that you feel right as rain in the morning. I know that I sometimes feel like I am coming down with something when all that is the matter is that I am exhausting. This seems a distinct possibility in your case after the intense weekend you just had.

Corinna

Sorry that your day was so yucky! But, let's look on the bright side - we're going on a cruise! DH keeps coming home saying, "It can't come soon enough!" So, we'll all be relaxing onboard, with our DotD, in less than 2 weeks!

Hang in there and I hope tomorrow is a better day.:grouphug:

Hi everyone, been a rough day here, we had to put our dog down today:littleangel:. He couldn't walk anymore and his kidney's were going. We had him for 18 yrs, he would have been 19 Dec 26th.:dog2::(:sad:
We really need this cruise now!!!!! Can't believe it's almost here!!

 We had the same scenario with our cat Sassy in July so I know how hard the decision was. She was 17 yrs old, kidney and heart failure and unable to walk.

JMO----that's a good idea....I have a magnet clip and will hang roll call list there, and a rope pen....that way anyone can change their own room numbers. Also I will have a dry erase board on my door as well... How about we say U need to update the list by 8pm Sat night in case anyone is deliveing sat night or sun morning...or day. if u can't just come to the meet and greet...at least update my door....hehe ;)

Tess---win me a massage.I need it!! lmao

I have made a daily list....boy how to accomplish it all....Tues work and then get Syd to dance classes...make dinner and get her something for her 45 min break between classes. Weds--Nelia has a field trip(sad I work now and can't go:sad2:), then Thurs Del and I will have been married 10 yrs....wow 10 yrs I put up with him...:rotfl:
Then friday I think get laundry done, and start cleaning(I like a clean house before I go)
then Sat---Syd has bday party and I need to continue to clean...Sun do bathrooms cleaning, Mon wash floors, Tues wash all bedding so the beds are made and clean when we come home. Also Tues GYN appt.....LOVELY. Dh will mow the lawn then and then finally weds.....pack car, go get pedi and mani, load formal wear, and pick up kids and go to detroit.....OMG now all that makes me need a vacation more and more!!!:woohoo::yay:

Our documents are in!:banana::banana:!!!! They aren't in my hands yet, but my TA sent me a message and is hopefully dropping them off at DH's office tomorrow. Pulled out my FE tonight to put with my stack of stuff. I've not done much tonight-just sat and relaxed.

Hopefully I'll get the suitcases down tomorrow night and start packing. DH ordered packing cubes, but they won't be in until the end of the week or the beginning of next.

I think the updated list is a great idea. I know I want to deliver my gifts earlier in the cruise rather than later. I know I'm looking forward to the meet and finally getting to talk to everyone in person :).

October can't get here soon enough!!!

Howdy all!

Well, my DH seems to think that I brought this all on myself. I disagree but it wasn't worth arguing about. I had a low grade fever last night. :( Hoping it was the last. My throat is gunky and makes me cough occassionally. And my head hurts. BUT, other than that I'm doing great. :) LOL I'm still going in to work today. I've got my tea and honey so I should be set. Anyway, as long as the rest of the family doesn't get sick I'm good to go. :) Again, the DH thinks it's all in my head. Oh well. :)

Well, it's off to work I go. Gonna stop at the drug store first for some ibuprofen. :) Have a great day all! Kristi

Kristi, sounds like you got what Amaya has. :sad2: How is men can think a fever is "in your head"? Well, I hope it passes quickly! I got really sick a couple of weeks ago, bad fever, aches, soar throat, cough, etc. and it only lasted 3 to 4 days. Just go insane with the hand sanitizer so as not to pass it to the rest of your family. ;) That's what Terri is doing at their house.

Well, Ashley did not pass her test on her first try. :sad2: I told her it was OK, not everyone does. The wierd thing is she barely passed her eye test (she actually had to be given a second chance to pass it) and she was more upset about that then not passing the written test. :confused3 She looked at me with tears in her eyes and said "I'm sorry mom". I was like "What? You have no control over your vision you have nothing to be sorry about!" It's just funny she was more upset about that. So, now I have to make her an appointment with Kaiser to have her eyes checked and her next appointment at the dmv for a retake is Tuesday afternoon. Just what I want to do the day before we start our vacation...spend the afternoon at the dmv. I hope they don't make her take the eye test again, that will stress her out. :rotfl:

Well, today is the first day of fall, and it's going to be 102 here. :scared1: Tomorrow is supposed to be 104. :scared1::scared1: I can't wait to go to the Caribbean to "cool off".:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day!
Andrea

ps, Michelle I agree with jmo, I would just put the list up on your door and we can check there. No need for you to go running around. Although, what happens if you change rooms?
Corinna, I hope today is a better day for you!
Kristi, get well soon!

Andrea----I will be at the meet and greet and will inform anyone I have moved...LOL However I have a feeling we will stay put. As for booking onboard---well if they stop the 50% deposit then we wont book cause we can't swing $1000+ at this time! But we'll see what the offer is and see. Otherwise we will just book later on. Sorry about Ashley and the test. Tell her to just think cruise and all will be better with the world...hehe

Kristi get better and leave it in PA DO NOT bring it to florida!!!

Ok so it's settled...the list will be on my door and everyone can check there.

Ok off to figure out what I am making Sydney---she has dance tonight and a 45 min break between classes so I need to feed her!! Anyhow....I will talk to you all later...BBL

Hi Corinna,

Thank you so much for your advice I was on to Virgin first thing this morning they said no way will we credit you with the £120 so I asked to talk to a manager so she phoned me back and agreed to the refund with out any question. So I have booked the extra luggage for the flight with BA I also asked what would happen if there was any delays so glad you mentioned this I never gave it a second thought but they assured me that because they booked the flights they would still take responsiblity. I can only hope there is no hiccups we are due to land in Gatwick at 7.50 am and our International flight is at 1.00pm so have about 5 hours overlay we have never booked this way before and will probably not do it again just pay the extra for a direct flight. Like you I was really disappointed with virgin as I work in part of the group not travel though do you work in the travel industry? Just have to hope there is plenty of pixie dust coming our way on the 2nd and everything goes to plan not worried about the flights home. DH says he is not going on holiday again too much stress sure I will sort him out by next year we were caught up with TCD going bust last year 8 days before we were due to leave.Had to rebook 9 people flying from Glasgow with flight prices going through the roof.

Thanks again for your advice Judith

It great to see everyone being able to finalise their plans it ont long now only 10 sleeps for us might go tobed early tonight and it will be one less lol.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Today was much better.

I sorry to hear that Ashley failed her test. I am sure that neither she nor you need the added stress of resitting the test the day before you travel.

Yes, I work as a reservations team leader for a big international airline (unfortunately we don't fly from Europe to the USA). So I have fairly in depth knowledge of the industry. I also really love my job (well most of the time anyway).

5 hours should be more than enough to be covered for little hick ups along the way. Have you been told if they will check your luggage through all the way to Orlando or will you have to collect it at Gatwick and then check it in again. This is another advantage of just having a single ticket. If all flights are on one ticket, the luggage will definitely be checked through and you will get your board cards for the entire flight when you check in for the first flight. With two separate tickets, this should not really happen, but exceptions can and will be made at times.

Well, DH had to stay away for another night as the job was not completed as quickly as he had thought. He will be back some time tomorrow.

Things at work have been a lot calmer today and I also got my doctor's appointment out of the way. Tomorrow I have to go into town before work. I will have a team meeting tomorrow and my team has become rather accustomed to Krispy Kreme Donuts during our team meetings. I also just found out today that the do a Key Lime Donut and a Rocky Road Donut now. So I have to sample one of each.

While I am in town anyway, I have another go at getting the bangles for my pirate costume. I finally found some bangles that fit when I went shopping on Saturday. I have a gift card for this shop and I figured that I needed to go back to town at some stage this week anyway, so I did not buy them at the time. On Sunday I went back to the mall, still without gift card and totally forgot about the bangles until I got back home. Now the gift card is in my purse and I have every intention to get them tomorrow.

On the subject of buying, I finally bought DH's birthday present. Estimated date of delivery is Thursday or Friday and I hope that it really gets here that quick. I cut this a bit fine. I can't say what I got him as he sometimes lurks on here, but I hope that he will love it.

I was just trying to find out a bit more information about Dolphin Discovery at Cozumel, with limited success beyond their own website. However, I found a list with the names of their dolphins and one of the dolphins is called Amaya. This is kind of cool, sharing a name with a dolphin.

Right, bed time for me. It is gone midnight again here and I have a busy day ahead of me tomorrow.

Corinna

Hey all! Hope you all had a good day. Mine was alright. I made it through. :) Other than being a little tired and still having a little drainage I'm doing good. Katelin has a runny nose now. We had a feeling she'd get one though as she's been waking up with a little congestion first thing in the morning. Just gonna let it run its course for now. :) We figure if we're gonna get colds here then let's do it now and get it over with. :) LOL Keep us in your prayers just that this does move quickly and, better yet, that Lilli and Richard don't get it. :)

Well, I know we are getting close now as last night I had my first vacation nightmare. I lost our passports and Mickey personally kicked us off the boat in Key West. It was really scary, but to me, it just means it is almost time to leave!

okay, so I'm a little bit behind, but I finally feel like things are getting acomplished.

Father son matching ties for formal night
Formal for me
Fish extenders gifts almost done
laundry basket
son's pirate costume(walmart)
passports
pillowcase
hotel for the two nights before (29.00/nt right outside disney)

Wow now I have to do is pack!:upsidedow

WE HAVE OUR DOCUMENTS :cool1::cool1::cool1:.

No upgrade, but still happy to have everything in hand.

Kristi, hope you are feeling better. I sent one home today with a temp. She went home last Thursday with a temp, but tested negative for the flu. Hopefully, she has not come down with it again.

Andrea, sorry about Ashley's test. Tell her to keep her chin up.

I'm working on packing tonight . If I can do a little each night, then it will be a lot easier as the days pass. Patrick came home today with a big history assignment. It is suppose to be a "journal entry" that has to be a minimum of 4 pages typed. Thankfully that is double spaced. This is due this Monday. We also have a paper due for the band director about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (Patrick's marching show this year is music from this group). He has to do this since he is missing a ballgame. Thankfully this is not due until we get back, but I was wanting to get it done before we leave. On top of this, 4 tests next week (basically tests in all of his pre-AP classes). We also have a marching band contest Saturday night, so the next few days are going to be CRAZY! I am so ready for the next 10 days to go by!!!

Hope everyone has a great evening:).

Love it! I always get the vacation nightmares too. Usually it is about forgetting the trip altogether...we just go to work and about our daily lives and I realize I should have gotten on a plane the day before! Ha! like that would happen...right? :rotfl:

Anne and I will be at WDW in one week!! Bring on BLT! YAY!!

Ok since we are all sharing...I too have pre-cruise nightmares...however mine involve my kids. I aways dream one of them falls overboard!!! I kow crazy...but it happens every pre cruise. I love balcony rooms but I love oceanview cause still can look out and no-one can fall......

ok well that was my nightmare. Now off to bed to dream good dreams...like I go to MNSSHP and get picked for our family to be in the parade...woohoo now thats a dream!!!

I kept Amaya home from school again today. She was still running a fever and coughing. She seemed to be feeling better yesterday afternoon and then the fever was back last night and this morning. She has been pretty much laying on the couch all day "resting". I stayed home with her yesterday and DH stayed home today, my turn tomorrow. We are using the hand sanitizer like crazy around here hoping that we don't catch it.

Riley has been so sweet and bringing her homework home everyday so she doesn't get behind...Amaya has been doing pretty good at keeping up with it despite not feeling that good.

I'm just praying that she gets over this soon and that we don't catch it...I've been waiting forever for this cruise, can't get sick now.

Have a good night everyone and stay healthy!

Terri

It is snowing here in Colorado. We are an hour north of Denver and just had cold rain, however it snowed in Denver and expecting 2" tonight. Yikes, it is way to early. Bring on the warm weather. :cool1:

DH and I left in early Feb one year to Sedona AZ and left below freezing in Colorado. Not so drastic this time but I am from San Diego and though there are seasons here I can do with lots of warm weather all year long. Leave the snow to the snow men. :rotfl:
