SANDY: I feel like I am one of the complainers from the Maiden Voyage:boat: There were so many wonderful moments from the cruise - friends :grouphug:, fantastic food and impeccable service. Also from WDW and seeing Darren, Faith, Kristy and Eugene. Somehow I can't get over the people who pillaged the gift shop! Thank God I got the lithograph, book and coin or I would not have one thing from the maiden voyage.

Work, work, work. It feels like that is all I do now. I need to retire!

TED: I am really jealous of you retiring.

Hope you all have a terrific week. I am stuck waiting for the heater repairman. My heater shut off during the cruise once and did it again the other night. It's always something.

Toodles, JEANNE a/k/a Disney Dudette Two

Jeanne, you HONESTLY had a right to complain. Your whole cruise was a calamity of errors. I felt for you. Are you going to complain about the way the maiden voyage stores handled it? I am but along with it, I will give praise. Did you know that my stateroom host took one of my champagne flutes? Got drunk for nothing, LOL.

Sandy: Interesting reading your posts about the ship.

It was nice and warm and sunny here for a few hours. It was WONDERFUL! Then the bottom dropped out of the temperature. We went to Via Napoli for lunch. It was terrific. We have a new must-do restaurant.

Tomorrow is MK with CRT at 8:30 AM.

Thanks Denine. Your WDW stay is starting off like ours. I even took down hats and gloves for Bonnie, Jeanne, Joyce and Don. Then when we met up with Darren the parks closed due to tornado warnings. What a night that was. Thankfully Faith's SIL put us all in their car and took us back to ASMo. Heidi and Kristy were in the "station wagon" part. Made for great memories and laughs.

Ok, so I have a confession. I was drunk at sail away. They were handing out free champagne in souvenir flutes. I chugged down 3 and possibly 4 just to get the glasses. I tried to maintain my "coolness" but I know I was slurring. Once again, great memories.

We are talking about a reunion cruise with Faith and Darren in Oct 2012 including all of you. Bonnie wants me to ask if you prefer Eastern or Western. I said Western since I have been to St Thomas more than I can count plus I have never made it to Grand Cayman. She said Eastern because she wants to go back to Meghans Bay and also get a bushwhacker. She doesn't like Costa Maya and neither do we. What are your thoughts?

Hey Sandy, I have pro's for each. I like the Eastern because of the extra day at sea. The western, we had fun at Cozumel and Grand Cayman. They can't go to Key West anymore because the new ships can't get into the port because they are too big, so one of OUR favorite ports. Garry and I had a BLAST at that port, but it is now no longer. Don't think Denine and Jerry enjoyed the western at all, but we did. It really doesn't matter which cruise you pick... YOU MAKE YOUR CRUISE WHAT YOU DECIDE TO MAKE OF IT!!!

Ok, I'm still trying to get a better feel of the new ships, what were the negatives besides the aft rooms and the idiots buying all the cruise stuff up? Just want the opinions of those I trust.

Thanks!

TTFN

I agree with you that a cruise is what you make of it. I forgot that Bonnie said that she likes the days at sea and I most certainly do too.

I'm serious. I can't come up with negatives. Slow service but so many of the CM's are just learning and that will resolve itself with time. Long lines at Customer Service on the MV but I think a lot of it had to do with merchandising. Heidi, help me with negatives. I have read but didn't witness that the two kid pools are crowded. We just don't hang out there. We liked the new Pirate show. Disney Dream is Disney Believe on the Dream and we didn't like it as well as Disney Dream. Food portions are smaller but not a negative for us. Ooooohhhh, I've got one. They don't have the yummy bread rolls at dinner. Just a few strange yucky kinds. ( that is personal taste however) Possible negative is Animators Palate. Not all tables have good views of the "aquariums".

I prefer Eastern as well for the extra day at sea. By then, Turner will be in college (OMG!!!) so Paul and I will probably be able to make it!!!! Can't wait to cruise with you guys again!!!!!!!!

Not much going on here. Turner's team won both games on Saturday. We go to Columbia, SC this coming weekend for 2 games then we get 2 more home weekends.

Looks like we might get another round of wintry weather Thursday. I am hoping this will be the last of it for us. I already see robins out in the morning, new budding on the trees, and daffodils beginning to come out of the ground. I am so ready to get rid of the cold weather and have a little springtime.

Oh well. enough from me for now.

LYMI

For the reunion cruise I would vote for the Eastern because I like the sea day, but I will go with the flow on what everyone else wants to do.

- A Negative for me was the Sports bar, it was cool but not like Diversions. I missed the board games at Diversions and the nacho and wings bar!!! I could not find nachos or wings anywhere on the Dream. And there was no "If I were not upon the sea" show.
- I do not think there is a Pirate Night buffet, so no turkey legs, and no midnight dessert buffet but I am not sure if that was because it was a 4 days cruise and they just don't do it on the 4 days.
- To me there were some outstanding and very friendly CM's, but it didn't seem some are as friendly and willing to help as the Magic/Wonder but I am sure that is because there are a lot of new cm's that are not use to the "Disney Way".
- There is no steamer trunks, but the ottoman opens up which we used as a hidden junk drawer and to me it seems like there is more storage now in the rooms.
- I love the higher beds and that they don't split even though I know Jeanne and Joyce didn't like it because they couldn't seperate it into two beds so one of them had to sleep on the couch. I cannot tell you how awesome the linens were, I wanted to take them home. So comfortable and soft, beds are amazingly comfortable! You cannot feel the ship move as much.
- The one thing that was weird is that that forward and Mid elevators are super close to each other and the aft elevator is really far from the Mid elevator. Some of the elevators only go to Deck 11, but other would go to Deck 12, a few to Deck 13 and one to Deck 14 so it was interesting to try and figure that one out!
- This is something crazy but I think Bonnie realized it and it was kind of annoying, the closet doors open out now and no longer slide. The bathroom doors open out now (which took me longer to figure that out since I was so use to them opening in and there is a bigger step into the bathroom so I kept tripping up), and then cabin door opens in, so if someone is walking in to the room and you have the bathroom door open or closet door open, they will crash into each other.
- I do not like how you have to turn on the lights/tv with a key card and keep the card in the slot to keep it on. I tried to outsmart them and use my WDW key to the world card, but it was taken. If Chris had his in the slot then left and I was still in the room, I would have to put mine in otherwise it goes dark after a couple of minutes. OR you would walk out of the room and forget about it completely! If you have your hands full walking into the room, make sure your card is out to put into the slot beforehand!!! The way you enter your room is just swipe your card across this pad, you would not have to take the card out of the lanyard to get into your room (if you didn't want lights!!!) I liked that!
- I missed the promenade lounge, we use to sit there before dinner and wait for the restaurants to open up and listen to the performers sing and play. Now they have the performs playing/singing in the atrium.
- I did not like how the adult pool is forward and the adult lounges (the district) is Aft. I much prefer the magic and wonder where the adult areas are always forward.

I think that is about it for me on the negatives (with positives thrown in too) Definitely positives outweigh the negatives.

You brought up some good ones, Heidi. I don't like the lights thing. What a major pain. We managed with the doors. After tripping one time in the bathroom I figured it out real fast. I felt like a dope, LOL. I MAJORLY missed the promenade lounge. There were several times I would have wanted to go.

Hey guys!

Good to hear the good and the bad of the ship. Right now we are booked on the Magic for Feb. 2012, don't know about October. We do prefer the Eastern because of the extra sea day. Our whole October trip would have been better if not for that dumb car thing. Plus, on the cruise, I had an upset stomach for a couple of days.

Today was gorgeous. It was about 75 and sunny. It won't be that warm again the rest of the trip. Supposed to rain tomorrow. I hope not much.

Kaleigh really enjoyed breakfast in the castle yesterday. We went back to MK today. Kaleigh rode Space Mountain for the first time and wants to do it again tomorrow. We have lunch at Tony's tomorrow. Kaleigh is trying to get her fill of Goofy's Barnstormer since Toon Town closes this weekend.

Denine, I forgot about the car thing when you were gone last time. I'm surprised that Kaleigh liked Space Mtn. Good for her! Sorry about your forecast for tomorrow! We had a HUGE storm the night Heidi arrived. HUGE!

I believe that the new dates for 2012 will be announced soon and I think I am going to book an Eastern in October. The prices are always so much cheaper when you book when first announced.

Hello and Goodnight! Just got home from Bible Study and heading to bed. I'll chat tomorrow --- working from home!!

Denine - On the MV, at the Castaway Club Gold/Platinum seminar they said that they were bringing Goofy's Barnstormer to Fantasy Land when it opens up. I hope you guys are having a blast.

Mom - That was such a huge storm. So thankful Eugene took us back to the hotel. That was a lot of wind and rain!

Susan - Enjoy working from home! I wish my agency would let us do that!!!

So who is all going on the Reunion cruise in October 2012?
From what I am reading it sounds like Susan is a possiblity, my mom and I, and the Dudettes. Barb, Denine and Julie - are you guys going to go?
