Turner was not on the ice for that entire time. They first ahd a parent, player coach meeting then parents were done. The players also did some team-building activities, off-ice training, coaches chalk talk time, and only 2 hours on the ice. Don't feel bad for the kids. Feel bad for us parents. The rink is 40 minutes away so we stayed out there. I had 2 glasses of wine at the rink bar, had a burger and fires, read my book, and took a nap in the car.:woohoo:

Back to work today. I sure hate when the alarm goes off at 5:30. I am NOT a morning person. Tomorrow I go with my dad to get his test results. Please pray for him.:grouphug:

Gotta go. Hope everyone is doing great.

Love ya.

Susan, I am soooooo not a morning person either. Actually your day at the rink wasn't too bad. Looks like 2 glasses of wine would mellow you out! I would fall asleep....:rotfl2:

Of course I will send out pixie dust and prayers to your dad. And  for you! LYMI

Thanks, Sandy. I'm really not feeling good vibes for the appointment. I am usually not this down but he has been living beyond the statistical odds with this and I know it won't always be that way.

I know I am not the only one with personal things in their life right now, but I really do thank all of you for letting me blab a little about this. I just don't know how we deal with this stuff as we get older. I remember watching my parents watch their parents get older and sicker. I'm just not ready for this next phase to be here.

Love you guys.

Susan, don't worry about talking about it here. I for one have gone through it so I can understand. My dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer, given 3-6 months to live and beat the odds. He died 5 years later. I certainly understand that aging is so hard and it IS something that you don't want to face. No one wants to . It IS a rough time for the child. Hang in there. We are all here for you!!:hug:from me and :grouphug:from all of us.

I am up early today. I woke up worrying about Kaleigh and couldn't go back to sleep. I had to research stuff on the computer.
We got Kaleigh's blood test results back last night. They all came back normal, which is a good thing. However, her glands are still swollen. The doctor wants to see her in his office this week or next to find out why she is having this problem. He doesn't even know about the problem last week.

Susan: Pixie dust! It is so hard with aging parents. My dad falls all the time and has to call 911 a few times a month to get him off the floor. His MS has progressed a lot in the past year. It is hard on my mom who has her own health issues. We live an hour away, so I am not much help.
Keep us posted. We are all here for everyone!

Susan - I will definitely keep your dad in my prayers, along with Denine and Julie's dads as well. I didn't even know they could sell wine at the ice rink, that made me chuckle! At least that helped pass the time away. I wake up early in the morning for work but I am definitely not a morning person either. When I wake up it takes me about 2 hours to fully wake up and start talking to people.

Denine - Keeping Kaleigh in my prayers. I hope they can diagnose her so they can treat her.

Barb - Where are you?

Julie - Where are you?

I made homemade green chili last night, it was delicious! Chris has been craving green chili so I surprised him and made it. I didn't make it as hot as he wanted though because I wanted to eat it too! Tonight we will have smothered burritos.

Thanks Heidi!

I have an appointment for Kaleigh Thursday morning.
We are having 2-bean enchilada's for dinner. I made them the other day, they just have to be re-heated.

Hoping to make some pasta sauce for the freezer today. Tomatoes are scarce this year.

Denine, lots of pixie dust your way. Bless Kaleigh's heart. She has been sick for a long time now. Keep us posted.

Heidi, I have been wanting to make green chili too. I don't want it HOT like your dad likes it but I really make it more for him. Sheez, decisions. I figure he can always add jalapenos on the burrito. :) I'm trying to figure out meals for this weekend. Oatie certainly let me know that she doesn't want to eat out like they did last time so guess what????? I have to cook, hint, hint. I know that we will have Sally's chicken in the crockpot (thanks Sally) which has dried beef, chicken breast, bacon and soup. I just need some sides for it. I was going to cook for Friday and then I realized that they can eat at the amphitheater on Friday night. For one lunch we will have grilled smoked chicken & havarti cheese sandwich. I want to make the brownines with black beans for the Hartleys and Shipleys to try so that can be dessert.

I am in the process of ordering the gift basket for our Sept cruise. I am putting in a 12 pack of pepsi, tortilla chips, salsa, nacho cheese, snickers and a bottle of premade margaritas. With us having a verandah, I thought that it might be fun. Just waiting now for the final total. I have a price in mind that I will spend up to, anything over it I won't order.

Mom - you are going to have so much fun with the veranda, what a great idea to have chips and salsa and some margaritas out there. What can I help for meals? If it were up to me, I would suggest bean soup....lol! Chris and I just can't get enough of that when you make it!

I will bring you some of my green chili...maybe I can divide it in half for us and then I can make another batch for the hot and split it up...that way we are happy and the guys are happy. You can let me know if my version is too hot for you, but I don't think it will be.

Just checking in wondering if Susan has posted.

Heidi, the funny part is that Harold and Oatie would LOVE bean soup. They love soup but I can't make enough for you guys let alone adding two more people. LOL Silly girl! Your offer of the green chili sounds so yummy but Oatie can't eat spicy. Maybe we can postpone that until winter and have a game night. Mmmmmm! Ok, Saturdays menu, lunch the grilled cheese sandwich for lunch and for dinner, the chicken, mashed potatoes, peas, my strawberry jello and french bread. Maybe for Friday lunch I could get lettuce and tomato and have BLT's for lunch and dinner would be whatever Stacey is serving. Wait, I have the activity sheet. I will go see.................ok, sloppy joes or BBQ pork. Yummy! Ya, I thought the margarita "party" would be fun on the verandah. Getting excited now!! But sad that our road trip is over. Doesn't make any sense. I guess that I love Waterton so much that it is hard to leave. Maybe I should just buy that cabin and move.

Mom - BUY THE LAKE HOUSE.....lol No, I was talking about the green chili for you to freeze, not for this weekend. I will bring by a sample and let you taste it to see if it is to your liking!

Heidi, call the realtor in Canada for me and find out the price, ok? That house would always have someone in it and we wouldn't be able to enjoy it. LOL

The news today was very bad. My dad's cancer has spread throughout his body. There is some evidence of disease in the bones in virtualy every part of his body including his skull. He referred to this a multifocal bone metastasis, "enumerable sites" and multiple bilateral pulmonary nodules. Areas of disease around the aorta, the pelvis and groin.

Without treatment he probably will not be here for the holidays. With treatment (chemotherapy) he may have up to a year if he reponds to it.

Thanks for the prayers and keep them coming.

Susan, I am so sorry to hear that. I wish I could hug you and I know that virtual hugs aren't the same. I have been there. Please call me, email me or whatever. I have big shoulders and I love you! I want to be there for you.

Susan; I am so sorry. We are here for you! Does your dad know what he wants to do? Prayers being sent.

Susan - I am so sorry. You and your family will be in my prayers. We are here for you and we love you. If there is anything we can do, please let us know.

So last night I ended up sitting on a chair that was on top of my foot. Sounds weird but I was sitting on the chair and kind of rocking it back and hopping with it backwards so that I could move myself and the chair back a little bit without actually getting up and I ended up with the chair leg on the top of my foot. Extreme pain! I thought I was going to have a huge bruise because it was really blue and swollen last night but this morning it looks like just a scratch.

Sandy: That sounds like fun; chips, salsa and margaritas on the verandah! We have always loved the verandah but we are not getting one for next year. We had to cut costs.

Heidi: Ouch!

Nothing going on here today. Just the usual.

Susan: How are you this morning?

Hello everyone else! :surfweb:

Thinking of you Susan. Hugs and prayers.

Denine, we actually prefer our porthole but thought it would be fun to have one again since we are going into a new port.

Heidi, OUCH!!! I feel better now knowing it turned out to be a scratch. Dad said if I get the number of the realtor that he would call and ask about the lake house. We were wondering if it is Vail expensive or Hamptons expensive or what.
