Oct 18th 2007, 3 nights?

Well he will just have to "live with it"... might help if both of us have the same dinning rotation and he see's that everyone else has to do the same...so tennis shoes and cargo pants will work...then I'm good. Do I have to sign him up for the Kids Club??????????? Does anyone know?

I tried to make a reservation two weeks ago at Palo's and it said it was completely full, so I guess I missed out on that one....oh well, dining by myself didn't sound like a lot of fun anyways...so I'll leave that up to all you "happily married, need a nice evening out couples"... I'll watch the kiddo's for you !!!

Pirate Party.... I just bought him a 60 dollar halloween costume...didn't know about the Pirate thing...... so will a patch and head scarf work????? I hate to go buy another costume for this.

Also, YES..this is our first trip to both Disney World and for the cruise.... I feel like I'm a complete idiot... because truly, I know nothing...... we are staying at the Caribbean for the first part of our trip..... I don't know if I need to make reservations for eating or not.... I'm not sure exactly where the rides are or how to even plan the days..... where to be for the firework shows...... Yes, I'm blonde... lol.

You will find the Caribbean Beach very nice, we stayed there on our first trip. This time we are at Port Orleans. You might want to see if you can get a preferred location, it makes the walk to food and the main pool much nicer...

Hello all!
Munchkin 74112, you can sign your son up for the Kids Club on-line right now. You then go to the Kids Club when you get on-board and pick up your pager, fill out some info and you will be good to go!

Don't worry about knowing everything about the land/sea, sometimes I get all caught up in being too organized and planning too much that I'm exhausted before I have started the trip! Does that make sense, lol, I'm blond too! We found out sooo much after our 1st cruise, you then find what works well for yourself and your family.

As far as the Pirate deal goes, your son will be fine with the scarf and eye patch, especially at his age. My oldest (dd11) may scale her costume down to a few of the pieces from her original pirate costume, as it may not be "cool" to wear it as is!!!

Right now, all I want is for the paperwork to come, beacuse that means it's really around the corner! Yeah!:woohoo:
Beth

"Thank You" lovindisney4. You hit the nail on the head. I am a self proclaimed organizational nut..... I've contacted my TA on the preferred location at the resort and I'll wait for her response to see exactly where we are at. I've gone in and signed up DS on the website....so now, besides waiting for "the package to arrive"......I'll just sip my wine tonight and relax and not worry.

Hello, All!

I'm so glad I finally found a thread letting me know that we were not going to be the only ones on the ship! My DD (age 7) and I are so excited about the trip. We have been doing the countdown since the beginning of September.

This will be my DD's first cruise and my first Disney cruise. I have started my lists but haven't started packing yet. My daughter will be taking both princess and pirate wear. I haven't decided if I'm brave enough to dress as a pirate or not.

We are driving from Georgia to Cape Canaveral on Wednesday. Right now, I have reservations at the Four Points Sheraton but I might change that to the Radisson at the Port--the pool looks nicer. Is anyone else driving? Do you plan to park in the terminal parking lot? The Radisson has a deal that you can leave your car in its lot and take a shuttle to the port but I haven't decided if I want to do that.

After the cruise, we are going over to Orlando and doing the MNSSHP on Sunday night. DD and I will dress as chefs for that event and have Ratatouille on our chef hats.

I would like to make a door sign but I might run out of time.

We are in Cabin 2631--I think we're practically across the hall from somebody already on the thread.

I haven't received any paperwork but my travel agent said I should have it by the end of the week.

Docs are here! :cool1:

I know I've been MIA for a while. Work has been crazy, but you gotta pay for the cruise somehow, eh?

I was just coming back from lunch today and met the UPS guy in the driveway with my cruise docs! I'm so excited!!!

We're leaving 2 weeks from today! I can't wait. We're on the first flight out of Chicago on Wednesday and we're spending the day in Cocoa Beach and staying at the Holiday Inn the night before the cruise.

I need to start getting ready to pack. Time to drag out the suitcases and start on all the laundry. My brother is coming into town the Sunday before we leave, so I'm hoping to have most of it done before he arrives.

Hope everyone gets their docs soon!

Hi Everyone!
Just rec'd our documents...we're ready to go! :cheer2:

Leighbert, welcome! You are 3 doors down from us...we have a DD7 as well! We also have a DD11, they are so looking forward to the cruise! We are in 2626, we'll have to meet up!

Pearlieg, I assume you are leaving from O'Hare? We have the 1st flight out of Midway/Chicago 6:30am, a little bit closer to us since we're now in Indiana. Sometimes we fly out of O'Hare, depending on where we're going and what airline. We are staying at the Sheraton Suites, we have early check in so we'll do the pool thing and who knows what else. We then pick up the Disney Shuttle in the am.

Piles are getting bigger, puppy knows something is up! She'll be going to the doggy hotel, it really is great for her and she really loves the people who work there.

Everyone should have their docs by tomorrow!
The official countdown has begun!
14 days!!!!!:woohoo:

Travel Agent called today and my docs are in!!!!:dance3: Went to the thrift store and actually found some cute pirate "stuff"..for next to nufin! :rotfl: LAUNDRY, LISTS, PACKING.......oh my :laundy: I'm so excited to see others posting that will be on the trip with me and my DS 10. Countdown has begun, see everyone soon.....:cloud9:

This is what dreams are made of..:grouphug:

We actually fly out of Midway since we really like Southwest. We're on the 6:20am flight on the 17th! Are we on the same plane???

Hi Pearlieq,
Yes, we're on the same plane out of Midway! :yay: We too fly Southwest for most local flights. How will I know you? We'll be the blond family of 4, girls have long blond hair and are very petite. Let me know how I can spot you all!

Can't wait! This is so fun having this board, we never met anyone on the last cruises until we came into the port. Really fun getting to know everyone ahead of time!
Beth

Thanks for the heads up... I checked our front door (we don't go in and out of too often) and there was the package!!! Now to stop procrastinating, and dust off the suitcases, get packing!!:yay:

I just checked with my travel agent who gave me the tracking number for my documents. I just checked and the documents should be there when I get home this afternoon. The countdown begins! Woo-hoo!

Hello fellow DCL-10/18 cruisers!

Thanks very much Leighbert for letting me know of this thread! SSB has some catch up reading to do, for certain.

TWO WEEKS!

Hello Everyone!

We are sailing with you as well. It is myself, DH and DS10 1/2. We are always bringing a friend and her daugher (DD12). We took this same cruise last year and the weather was fantastic. Nice and warm. . . perfect for swimming at CC but not to hot and muggy as it might be in mid-summer.

We are flying in the afternoon before and staying at the Cocoa Beach Holiday Inn. Is anyone else staying there?

I will try and dig out my green bracelet from another cruise and wear it. Is anyone else going to wear something green so that we can say "hello." Although this is a short cruise, it is always fun to find other Dissers on board.

We are!

This is so cool--we have flight buddies and hotel buddies now! This is going to be such a fun trip!

Have you stayed there before? I haven't (we bought the night there on Hotwire) but so far I've heard good things about it.

Yes, we stayed there last year! We actually flew in to MCO very late and didn't get to the hotel until about midnight. This year we are taking a much earlier flight so that we can have some dinner (probably pizza by the pool) and then go down to the beach.

The rooms are small and nothing fancy, but they are comfortable and the hotel is just a block or so from the beach. The hotel has a fun kids pool with a pirate ship in it. Even though DS was 9 last year, he had fun spashing around in it. There is also a larger, non-themed pool. We will probably spend our time there until we go to the beach.

We ate breakfast at the Captains Grille and everything was great. As a matter of fact, they were very nice working with us b/c DS10 has a nut allergy so they made sure all his food was nut-free.

I have not read through all the posts on this thread. Are you traveling with kids? If so, what are there ages?

That is so darn cool! What are the odds? :yay:

I can't imagine what time you're going to have get up to make a 6:20am flight from Crown Point! Lots of coffee and a nap on the plane for you!

DH and I will probably actually be pretty easy to spot since we'll be the only people not with a wheelchair and not with a baby in the pre-board line!

DH has big linebacker shoulders and I'm no skinny Minnie myself, and so we usually book a whole row for ourselves so no poor soul has to squish in with us. :scared: We found out a couple of years ago that when you do that, Southwest lets you pre-board so you can be sure to get your own row. So you'll either see us in the pre-board line or right at the front of the plane.

DH (Dave) is a fairly tall guy with light hair, and as for me (Laura), I'm tall with dark hair. I'll keep an eye peeled for a blonde family, and if you spot us, please stop by and say hi! :wave2:

It was fun reading your build up to this point just two weeks out now! SSB has been very lucky living here to have gone on many DCL voyages, and know for those of you first timers, that you will have a blast!

One sidenote, Munchkin74112, you can still book Palo sometimes when you first board ship. Has to be SSB's plan, as just booked, so I don't even have cabin number yet. I am hoping that docs might be there tonight!!

Here's to a great voyage for us ALL!

I have not read through all the posts on this thread. Are you traveling with kids? If so, what are there ages?

Pirate ship pool? Way cool! DH and I will have to check it out. We definitely don't need anything fancy for just the one night, but I'm glad to hear it's nice.

It's just DH (30) and I (28). We love kids, but don't have any of our own yet. You're definitely in luck though. I think my last count had about 837 10 year old boys on this cruise. Sounds like it's going to be a great group.

We're on a super early flight, so we should be getting into Cocoa Beach around lunch time. We're definitely going to make a stop at Ron Jon's, and spend some time at the beach and pool.

I think we're going to check out a restaurant called Fish Lips with is down by the cruise pier. Their website says they're having standup comedy that night, which DH and I like, so it should be a fun night.

Too funny... SSB just read the whole thread, with Cliff's notes (or SSB's notes) below of our DIS sailing group:

Hey! Great minds think alike. I was just thinking about putting a roll call together, and you beat me to the punch.

Thanks SO much for doing it! It's great to be able to see the whole gang in one spot. :thumbsup2
