Oct 18th 2007, 3 nights?

Anyone making a door sign? This is something new since we've gone cruising last. After reading posts, looks like a lot of people make the magnets for their door. Let me know if any of you are doing that.

Beth

I would love to make a door sign -- those are so cool. But, have not quite figured out how to do this :confused3

Wow, I finally read all of the posts here from the 4 of you...great info! Can't wait, just laughing thinking we'll all be upgraded to the best cabins since we're the only ones on this cruise!!! Wouldn't that be wishful thinking!!!
Keep writing, I'm getting soooo excited, I'm driving my kids crazy!

Hi there... I too stopped recieving the automatic notices when there was a new post. I have been wondering about how full the ship will be too! There are a few other people signed in on that "who's cruisin when you are" thread, but not many. Our kids are close in ages, they are DD 10 and DS 7. Well, at least we know there will be a few families....

Well, this time I did get an email telling me there was a new posting so maybe that has started back up again. Sounds like your DD 10, Beth's DD 11
and my DS 10 will all be in the same kids club. I am hoping he will love
it and we won't see him until Sunday:rotfl2:
I will have to check out the who's cruisin when you are thread too.

We are considering taking Walkie-Talkies so we can communicate with
our son....I wonder what the kids club policy is about that:idea:

We are going too! :cool1: Don't leave me out! I have just been too busy planning other people's vacations. :teacher: I don't plan for a living, but since I go to WDW so often people ask for my help when they go. Our vacation party :dance3: consists of me, my DD (14) and my mom. This is our first cruise. Of course, our first cruise had to be Disney. Is there anything else? My friends and family all think I am nuts, but I don't care. This is also the first time we used a travel agent. I usually plan everything myself. It was nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of and that had been on many cruises (especially Disney).

We are staying at the Poly prior to the cruise for 6 nights. We are doing the MNSSHP on 10/16. So we are dressing up for pirates night. We decided to dress as pirates pirate: for the party and bring the costumes along for double (or triple) duty to wear on the cruise (and then again for Halloween when we get home). I think this will be the first time I actually got my money out of a costume.

It does seem like the ship will be pretty empty if it is only us (ha)! I hope my DD likes the teen stuff on the ship. She is getting pretty independent, so I'm not too worried. From what I hear I will probably have to pry her away from all the activities in order to get her to spend time with me and her grandma.

I am usually all organized and stuff for vacation, but not this time. I don't even have luggage yet!?! I had better find some time to buy some soon.

We are working on a door magnet idea, but as I said, I have just starting thinking about my own vacation. Guess it will probably be pirate themed too!

I love the DIS. Haven't been on much and when I first looked for a thread about our dates that wasn't anything out there, I guess not everyone plans 9 months in advance. I didn't even have a 07-08 school calendar when I started planning for this trip, but I didn't care if she missed--it's Disney!

Hope to see all of you soon...:yay:

I forgot to mention. We are in cabin 6576. Have to get a balcony for the grandma. That was the only request she had.

Welcome CK 1 and 2 :hippie: Your trip to the Poly sounds great !!!
We are only doing the cruise so we'll be back home before we know it:mad:

We stayed 7 nights at WL last October but skipped the MNSSHP.
I've never done that but it sounds like alot of fun !!!!!
I love the Haunted Mansion at Halloween. We also went to DL
during October in 2004. I guess we are Disney freaks like everyone
else here!

I have asked my DS age 10 again if he wants to wear full Pirate
costume for Pirate night and he says no.
I am going to buy him and DH some cute matching bandanas and DS will wear his (fake) eyepatch. Ofcourse, the night of the party, he will probably be
begging for some $100 pirate costume they sell on board:lmao:

Your DD will be having a blast in the teen club, I bet.

I too need to get organized and see what I need to buy/pack
and get lists going. I am going to NYC next week so I am directing
alot of preperation towards that trip right now and will focus on
Disney when I get back!!!

Talk to you all soonpirate:

P.S. ck, let me know HOW you make your door magnet!!!!!

Welcome aboard!!
From 1 Wisconsinite to the other!!! WHat part of the state are you from?

I think all you have to do is buy some of that magnet paper from the office supply store or some of that magnetic tape and you can make anything you like. I will have lots of little Mickey heads in all different colors to put up as well as something else, which I haven't decided on yet. Pirate? Princesses? Tink?

I'm so glad I found this thread (by accident). I had searched when we booked about a month ago, but couldn't find it. We are so excited about going. We are celebrating DD's 4th birthday on the 20th! She is sooooo excited about going on the big ship. Hi to all the Cheeseheads....We live in the Falls. We are risking flying in the 18th, but I've done it on a few other cruises, so we have our fingers crossed for good weather!

Hi Pirate Mike! Are you flying in on Midwest's first flight of the morning? Just wondering because that is what we usually fly and it has been on time more than not. Have a great trip! I will be looking for all of you...

I think we're on Midwest's second flight out around 7:30 get into Orlando around 11:00. Should have enough time, taking a town car to port, didn't want to deal with shuttle or rental car for the day. I love flying Midwest, and do so whenever possible. Hope they don't change too much in the near future!

We are in 6076... I am curious since you said you've been planning for
9 months, did you actually book 9 months out? Since we're both Cat 6
with 3 people I wonder how much more you saved then we did -- we
just booked in August. Sorry, hope that doesn't sound too nosy.
I may PM you and tell you what we paid.

OMG!!!!! I just looked at the virtual ship tour on the DCL site and we are across the hall from each other -- that is too funny!
Unless we get upgraded, we will see you on the ship! I'm not sure if I
mentioned, but it is me, DH and DS age 10.

I hope you put alot of research into choosing your room and it's one of the best; we just picked one -- had no idea what was better than another.

Looks like from the messages so far, we have 3 from Wi, 2 from Ill,
1 from NY and our family from NC.:dance3:

Hi Everyone!
The piles of clothes have started!!!!!! Yeah! We have a huge family party this weekend and once I get thru that, it is full speed ahead for the cruise!

Welcome Wisconsin friends, my brother has a cabin in Eagle River (lives downtown Chicago) and we usually are there in Oct., but won't be this year until November due to the cruise. I know it is much further than Milwaukee & Brookfield, but really enjoy the woods and how beautiful Wisconsin is.

NYC! LOVE NYC! I took my oldest, my niece, and my sister-in-law for a girls weekend in June. Saw one of the last Beauty & The Beast with Annelise Van Der Pol (Chelsea from "That's so Raven!") and for the biggest surprise, was in the 1st few rows of Hannah Montana on "Good Morning America" concert series. We were in line @ 5:30 am, they started filming around 8:00. I think me and all the other Moms had just as much fun as the kids! :cool1: She really is a cutie! Pretty sure you can still see it live on the GMA concert area website. We stay @ The Westin as we are Starwood Owners and always get a suite on the top floor. What are you planning/doing in NYC? Each time I've gone, it's been with a different group (kids 1x, husband 2x's, girlfriends 2x's), so we have such different schedules with each group. Love to hear what you planned!

I'm sure all the kids will LOVE the Kids Clubs! My older one may come out more, but my youngest is still in the 7 year old group. I'll try to ask when I get there if she can be in the older group, but I rec'd a reply stating she must be within one month or her b-day, but she just turned 7. No biggie, she'll be the one who never wants to come out, very sociable!

Can't wait to see what they have new in the shops on board, always treat ourselves to Disney Cruise bags, etc. One of my favs is the beach bag I got in 2004. My all-time fav...for my b-day (Oct. 30th) the kids and hubby had me pick a pearl and dropped it into a gorgeous Minnie Mouse setting. Just love it! Will need to get another Disney Cruise photo album, the kids love putting it together the minute we get home! Great project for them!

I'll check back in tomorrow with everyone!

This trip to NYC is with some girlfriends to celebrate one girls 40th.princess:

There are 4 of us going. The birthday girl and one other girl are having
their hair done by Nick Arroja -- from "What Not to Wear".
The cost was $400 so I had to pass on that :scared1:

We have tix to "The View" Thurs Oct 4th; do not know yet who the
guests are for that day. We are going to see Jersey Boys. I really
wanted to see Color Purple but no one else did!
We applied for alot of tix but have not yet heard from David Letterman,
Regis, John Stewart so not sure if we'll see any of those shows.
While we are there Brooks & Dunn is doing a concert at GMA but the
website says it is inside only so we are not sure if we can see that:confused3 We will probably get up early and go hang out with
the Today Show crowd one morning-

Then there's shopping & eating of course. The other 3 girls are
all over 5'10 so I will just be trying to keep up with them !!!
This is only my 2nd ever trip to NYC so I am very excited!

My son watches "Hannah Montanna" but does not want anyone
at school to know :lmao: That is pretty cool that you got so close!

Welcome Pirate Mikepirate: What a great bday present for your
daughter! We are also flying in on the 18th very early in the morning.
We don't have as far to go as you do but we will be in a mess if there's
a problem with our flight-
We are trying to take carry-on luggage only as well.

Hi Pirate Mike, pirate:
We are actually flying in the night before (Midwest)...trying not to take too many chances :) I see you have done cruises before, were they Disney cruises, or is this the first one? Since we had a family of 4 going, I booked a cat 4 to try and get us a little more elbow room...from what I have seen, there is not much room to move around!

We've done cruises in the past, but never on Disney. I was amazed the first time we cruised how small the cabins are. It appears Disneys are a bit bigger. But you don't spend a lot of time in there anyways, Cat 4 should be nice. I'm more particular about where it is, I like mid ship towards the top...and I need a balcony. Did an inside stateroom once and it drove me nuts! We're leaving 8 mo old DS at home with Grandma, so we should have pleanty of room for the 2 and 1/2 of us. Not sure what Cat we ended up with, but were in 7072 if anyone wants to stop by.

We are up one deck midship (not sure of the exact number now but will let you know). We are right next to either the Walt or Roy Suite....:thumbsup2
