Hi all . . .
The naming of the cruise was a suggestion from Nenner1 on page 2, post 21 click HERE to read the post in its entirity.



Everyone at the time liked the name, so it stuck . . .. so far!

I am open to the idea of a vote and/or other suggestions if everyone wants . . .just thought I'd throw out there the "origins" of the current name.

Thanks for the explanation... I do remember reading that when I first got on here. It was just a thought since more families are now joining us and I did not want anyone to feel like they did not have a "say" in the naming of the thread........Just a thought.....

On my past cruises we had a poll and voted for the "name" of our thread and cruise. Is anyone open to the idea of this for this cruise thread? Since now there seems to be soo many new families joining and it only seems right to let everyone have a say in naming what our cruise should be? Maybe, we could come up with a few suggestions and then put them out to a poll/vote so then everyone could feel like they were part of choosing the name of the cruise. Since the name will ultimately be on t-shirt, magnets, etc...

Call it me being blonde too but I guess I am confused by the name Bring Back the Magic?? Since we really are not bringing it back from anywhere except drydock which is not like the Magic was coming back from a "special Cruise" or anything? Don't know maybe it is just me. Sorry, not trying to offend anyone but I do think that the name should be decided by all of us especially since there are soo many families on here now...

I personally love the name Bring Back the Magic! I know everyone wasn't around when the first few of us agreed on the name. If you go back and read some of the first few pages of this thread you can get an idea of the the reasoning behind the name. I especially thought that Parrotheads would enjoy the name and be behind it considering that "Bring Back the Magic" is a great Jimmy Buffett song (see post number 39). Not only that but it also references the fact that the Magic is being returned from, yes drydock, but also a summer in Europe. She'll be back were she belongs. So even if you are not a Parrothead (Jimmy Buffett fanatic for those not in the know ) this name works.

I'd be sad to see the name change! My vote is to keep the name.

I understand. I am not opposed to a vote, especially if you guys really dislike "Bring Back the Magic" . Our last cruise didn't vote on the name...it was already there (and it was pretty bad!). We absolutely detested our last cruise name but it wasn't a democracy... So I totally appreciate your desire to feel involved in the choice.

Well, originally (back before dry dock was announced) this was and tecchnically still is the first cruise in the Caribbean after the summer in Europe. So, actually the bringing back part refers to bringing it back from Europe, not dry dock.

See, I already feel the way you do too because I don't like "Parrotheads in Paradise 2"...obviously mostly since I wasn't on PiP1. But there is nothing wrong with ya'll who have been on it calling it that, nor displaying your logo. We, personally have always had to have "alternate" cruise names just for us since our cruise thread names have been so terrible. For instance those of you who follow my TR know my last cruise was "Back to the Island~ The Double Dip Delight" (Dare you to guess which one we didn't pick).

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that my personal opinion is I don't want anyone to feel left out or that they don't have a voice in the matter.

Oh I totally agree with this. But do we consider the cruisers to come? We are still 15 months from sailing..... We will have to draw the line somewhere.

On my cruise now we ordered customized landyards they are soo cute. They only cost about $2.00 each. If we came up with a name everyone liked then we could have landyards imprinted with the name too...

Yes, no matter what the lanyards end up saying we NEED to have them, they are awesome! Our last cruise group had several "contributors" that put in $10/each and those people who financed the lanyard creation had their disnames listed on the back. Or we can put in a small amount per group. Either way we totally HAVE HAVE HAVE to do this.

I totally agree that the sooner we decide the better. And yes not everyone is going to agree that is for sure. But it was just a thought. Especially, if we are going to have landyards, etc. with the cruise name imprinted on them.
But whatever you decided is fine with me. Or we can just have the landyards say Disney Magic on them this way everyone can reuse them for their next cruise......

I understand now where the saying Bring Back the Magic came from.

The landyards are soo cool you can choose the ink color and the landyard color. Also, if you have a logo then you can put that in the pocket too...They really came out soo nice for my upcoming cruise. We have to have a min. order of 100 landyards but that was sooo easy for this cruise......I am sure we can reach that easily on this cruise.....

Maybe, we can start to keep track of those who are interested in the landyards now. Since we already have a list started for FE gifts, etc....

They look AWESOME for my upcoming cruise. Do you know where they were ordered from last cruise? The company we used for my upcoming cruise requires an order of at least 100 landyards but I do not think this would be a problem since each family might order at least 2-3 if not more......And we already have several families onboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited for this cruise and for all the great fun we are going to all have with it. I am totally down with everybody being involved and satisfied with all aspects of it!

As for the Lanyards..again someone volunteered to coordinate. That person took donations from vounteers (I believe it was $10/per person and about 15 people volunteered to contribute. I just did a quick online price check and it looks like they would cost about $1.60-$1.70 each for a minimum order of 100, so that math looks to be about right). They ordered the lanyard itself and the clear plastic holders, but they printed the tags out on their computer. They really turned out nice. Here is a picture of Sarah modeling hers:

There were 19 contributors from the last cruise who put in $10/each, so that means the order cost appx. $190.

We had a whole lot of them...I think it was for several hundred people.

Hi Jen, we only did the logo of PP2 because we hadn't found this cruise thread yet. It was not made to offend anyone at all and I'm sorry if it did. We had a big group from the first coming back to cruise on this one so for the fun of it I made this logo until we figured a name for this cruise.

No, I think what I was trying to say didn't really come out right...I don't dislike that name (it just doesn't apply to everyone)... I was more trying to show that it's Ok to have more than one name for a cruise! But I do think we can vote on a name that we are all satisfied with to be our main thread name and for the logo, etc. I'm sure it will work out fine!
