Hi everyone! My name is Joanne and my family and I are very excited to be joining all of you on this cruise. This is our first cruise ever and I am thrilled for it to be a Disney cruise. I have been lurking on these boards for a while and finally decided to join. In fact, reading these boards is what made us decide to take a Disney cruise.

Welcome 100acrewoodfan and family!!!!! Glad you are joining us. This is going to be a great cruise for your first one. For our first cruise we did a 7 day also. It was GREAT!!! Our 2nd cruise was a 3 day....... it was too short. You no more then get on board and then it is time to get off. We're keeping our cruises to 7 days or longer if at all possible. We are hoping Disney will introduce some longer cruises when the new ships come into service.

For those long time cruisers is there any real benefit to stating that on our reservation? Is there a special place we can make a dinner reservation or is the dining basically only at your set time?

Since getting my computer back, I've been going through my designs and clip art & such. It stinks when they replaced my oldest laptop I lost soooooooo many designs and neat stuff~mostly from old designers that are no longer on the Dis ..

Oh yes definitely mention your anniversary! You will get a nice surprise at your regular dinner seating on the night of your choice. Also you can book Palo, the adults-only restaurant for a special dinner. Palo costs extra ($15/pp) but in our experience it is well worth it. The only downside is that is pretty difficult to get a reservation at Palo and you might find it particularly hard to get it on a specific night. You can make your reservation for Palo online starting at 75 days prior to the sail date if you are a first time cruiser, (90 if you are a Castaway Club member and 105 if you are concierge or if you book the REAS package (romantic escape). The online slots do go very quickly (it is recommended to be online at midnight EST on the night reservations open) but the good thing is that more slots are available onboard the ship as soon as you board! Palo also has an awesome brunch spread and a tea service on sea days that are also wonderful!

Angie, I sent Carol an email I think we have seven families. We just got confirmation from her for my Aug. cruise about our reception....It was such FUN last time.....Nancy was there too it was GREAT!!!!! I will let you know when I hear back from her.....

Sorry, for not posting in a while. But busy getting ready for my cruise in three weeks.....Busy, making t-shirt, door magnets, etc.......tomorrow I will begin packing.......

On my past cruises we had a poll and voted for the "name" of our thread and cruise. Is anyone open to the idea of this for this cruise thread? Since now there seems to be soo many new families joining and it only seems right to let everyone have a say in naming what our cruise should be? Maybe, we could come up with a few suggestions and then put them out to a poll/vote so then everyone could feel like they were part of choosing the name of the cruise. Since the name will ultimately be on t-shirt, magnets, etc...

Call it me being blonde too but I guess I am confused by the name Bring Back the Magic?? Since we really are not bringing it back from anywhere except drydock which is not like the Magic was coming back from a "special Cruise" or anything? Don't know maybe it is just me. Sorry, not trying to offend anyone but I do think that the name should be decided by all of us especially since there are soo many families on here now...

On my cruise now we ordered customized landyards they are soo cute. They only cost about $2.00 each. If we came up with a name everyone liked then we could have landyards imprinted with the name too...

Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend. I promise once my cruise is over I will be more active on the thread.

I think it's an excellent idea to have everyone vote on a name

Hi all . . .
The naming of the cruise was a suggestion from Nenner1 on page 2, post 21 click HERE to read the post in its entirety.

Nenner1: I do have an opinion about our cruise name, so I'll throw it out to you guys. I propose we call it "Bring Back the Magic". I thought that appropriate, since not only are we the first cruise after the rumored dry dock, we are also the first cruise after the European cruises. This phrase is also a title of a lesser known Jimmy Buffett song. I am a big parrothead and I always incorporate Buffett tunes into my cruises (seee my trip reports!).
Speaking of, I have links to the trip reports I have written (and am currently writing) in my signature, if anyone is interested!

Everyone at the time liked the name, so it stuck . . .. so far!

I am open to the idea of a vote and/or other suggestions if everyone wants . . .just thought I'd throw out there the "origins" of the current name.
