Oct 13, 2012 Fantasy who's going

This will be the first Cruise for all of us. We are huge Disney fans and I am starting to realize that this is a whole different ball game from our normal Disney vacations!

We are in stateroom 6590.

Jay 43
Amy 42
Grace 10
Justin 10
Matthew 5

Not sure about dining times.

Like I said new to this whole thing, so not sure what a Fish Extender is?

So excited for this little adventure, we aren't telling the kids yet, and it is all I can do to keep it a secret. It is going to be a long long secret!

I have a feeling we will have lots of questions!

Question #1
How do people get the counters on their posts???? And their DVC resorts on there?

Goodmorning and welcome. Your info has been added to the 1st post. Here is a pic of a fish extender - I copied this from a forum

SSMC05door.jpg

Here is a picture of a "fish extender". You hang it on the metal fish decor right outside your stateroom door. It can be used for mail delivered by Guest Services, for notes to each other, or most people use it for little gifts to one another (go to the cruise meet thread and find the date of your cruise to chat with folks going on the same cruise as you are). We didn't have one of these for our 1st cruise this past Nov. but I'm planning on having one for 2nd cruise this coming Nov. I've already starting buying gifts to give! Hope this helps!

Also, the gifts can be whatever you want. Maybe from the dollar store, or Walmart - if you are creative you can even make them. And can be placed in the fish extender anytime during the cruise. some like to do it the 1st day and some later.

Below is a site from "the mouse for less.com" It has info on tickers. It also seems to be a site with lots of info for Disney
http://www.***********************/main.php

Looking forward to talkin with you - I sure don't know how you can keep a secret that long. I sure couldn't. BTW yes a Disney cruise is totally different from a Disney vacation. For example - at WDW Magic kingdom they may have a daily crowd of 30,000 to 50,000 people a day. We have on the Fantasy around 4,000. There is something for everyone and they pay attention to people of ALL ages. There are clubs for the kids and the adults. And of course the excursions. And lots more. I give you a guarantee you will love it.

Welcome!

I love that a Disney cruise is not like any other vacation. Not as crowded as the parks and by the time you cruise you will have friends with you thanks to these Dis boards! :lovestruc

This is the perfect place to ask questions so ask away.

Goodmorning - since you have the DVC sticker that Amy was asking about, in case the info I gave wasn't enough, could you help them?:thumbsup2

Sure!
- I finally found it! you think that I would have bookmarked that page! The DVC stickers were done by someone here on the Dis. I like them the best compared to all the others I have seen. Here is the link. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2680956

There are several places to get the countdown tickers. These sites have some good ones. http://www.**************/

You add them to your signature. Hope this helps! :flower3:

I have a question for you Jill or anyone who can answer this.

You can purchase on the Disney cruise line website photo credit packages to be used on the ship. I know that they also sell packages on the ship. Do you know if they are any less expensive if you buy before hand.

for $89 you can get 10 credits, $149 for 20 credits, $199 for 30 credits. A 5x7 equals one credit and 8x10 equals two credits. I have no idea what the prices are on the ship. pirate:

Shutters just seems too expensive to me compared to the Magic & Wonder cruises. I guess bigger ship different ideas. However, there is a forum where people seem to be answering your question. I hope this helps. Of course maybe someone else on this forum might have a answer. :)http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2670248&highlight=shutters

Not sure who posted our info in the group details, but DD name is Grace, my name is Amy. I think it is very funny because this is the second time this week some changed her name to Amy

Thanks for the info on adding things to the my signature. i can't seem to figure it you, so I will wait for the Techie husband to come home.

It was I that made the mistake. I didn't proof read like I should. I changed her name from Amy to Grace as requested.

:goodvibes Instead of pictures today I thought I would just share some good things that have happened in the past few days. I found out when I went to look at new cars that my credit score went up 100 points. I really hadn't planned on buying a car until July. I just went to the car dealer to see what the car looked like. With that news it's like ok maybe we can do this. Well, I went in at 10:30 in the morning and by 3:30 in the afternoon I drove my new car home.
I bought a Ford Fiesta Hatchback. It is Magenta with sparklies in the paint and even a pinstripe. It gets 40 mpg highway. The most used comment my friends had is "It's So Cute". It's side mirror is two mirrors in one. It's got power. Turns on a dime. Lot of other good things. But the main thing is I love it.:cloud9::hug::woohoo::yay::cool1::thumbsup2:worship::lovestruc

You know what - I think I will post a picture afterall.:surfweb::rotfl:

They are the same price on the ship. I pre-purchased mine and found that I could have just done it on the ship for the same price. As prices for individual pictures, I am not sure. I stuck with the photo package. HTH!

Here's something you don't see too often. Disney Hollywood Studios without guests

Thanks Dawn and Jill for the info about the pictures. Very helpful. I think that I am going to try to split a package with someone and not purchase until I get on the ship. I have plenty of time to figure all that out.

Jill your car is adorable! I love that new car smell don't you!

Yes, I love the new car smell and everything else about a new car.

Just want to wish all "Hakuna Matata" (no worries) - It is another gorgeous day here in Kissimmee, Fl.

It is anything but nice here in MN. Someone must have made Mother Nature really grumpy at us. They are predicting another 6 inches of snow overnight. I have so had it with winter, and normally I love the snow! Guess that is what we get for doing Disney in October this year. Hope the same doesn't hold true in 2012!

I was glad I moved from Jersey. This year was a really bad one for snow. I used to work in a prison and if there was too much snow they made us stay there until the so-called state of emergency was over.

Have you tried to fix your signature? Your countdown only half shows. I just added Johnny Depp and it was too big and it cut him in half. I had to shrink the pic. Sometimes you can re-arrange things. I really don't know. I just experiment till I get it right.

Good job Amy I see you countdown now :thumbsup2

Also, good morning everyone. Going to get a haircut this morning.

One of the guys wore this outfit on Pirates night - what would you call it?
DD227.jpg

I would call it beach towel evening wear, especially with the glow bracelets! :rotfl2: I don't see the "pirate" in it though.
