Oct 13, 2012 Fantasy who's going

Just booked this cruise yesterday!

Went through my agent so I don't have all the info yet except Cat 10A, Main Seating with the later show.

Really excited for it. It will be me, DH, DD (5 at the time of the cruise). We're experienced cruisers but haven't been on a Disney Ship since 1999! We've been pretty much exclusive to Royal Caribbean the last few years, but my daughter just stops in her tracks everytime the Disney Ship would come on TV so we figured it was time.

Big Disney fans (got married and honeymooned at WDW) and visit at least twice a year. Also have been to all the other parks in the world. In 2008 we visited all five Disney's in five months!

If anyone has any hints or things we should know I'd love to hear it. I feel so unprepared for this cruise compared to our normal Royal Carribean ones!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next 500+ days!

Hi there - welcome aboard. I know you will love the cruise. Since you love Disney then you know they will take great pride in providing a great time for you and your family. Doesn't matter how old or young you are there is something for everyone.
The first thing I would like to know is your names and would you like to participate in the Fish Extender? - that way I can post them on the 1st page.
Any questions you have feel free to ask.

We are now in room 5550 a bit of an upgrade but I decided that if I am going to pay for a balcony we should all be able to enjoy the view. My 6yr old would not have been able to see over the white wall. I have since learned that the verandas on deck 5 are twice as deep as on the other decks. BONUS!

Does anyone know which side of the ship the hallway runs on deck 5? We are the first room and I am hoping that when the theater lets out everyone won't be passing by my room.

This is from the disboards on deck 5. There is a post in there that may answer your question starting with the 6th post.

This one is the layout of the Fantasy
Just click below & it will take you there.

This is from that layout. From what I can see there are stairs in front of your area. Your room is the blue mickey head. There are also stairs on the other side of the theatre. The double arrows are the stairs. We were on deck 7 of the Dream and usually people weren't going up & down the halls.

Thanks for that info. It sounds like the rooms are totally separate from the kids club area. That should actually be nice. We were on the Wonder on deck 5 and there was a hallway on one side of the ship only. It was to hard to tell from the Fantasy's deck plan if it was the same. Thanks for finding an answer to my question I had been reading room reports and trying unsuccessfully to find info.

My friend Kellyn will be pleased when she finds out about the extended deck. Some say it is approx 10' x 10' with lounge chairs plus two regular chairs and a table.

It was my pleasure to help, you had me kinda curious myself. Some of the decks did seem different. We were on the back of the ship. On the Magic and the Wonder deck 7 in the back was a hidden deck. You could go back there and there were lounge chairs and it was peaceful. Having our room there was cool and the deck was definitely extended. :thumbsup2

I have heard about the hidden deck on deck 7. I will have to keep that in mind when I book my next cruise. I would love to go on a 7 day on the Magic. Depending on how crowded the pools and other areas will be on the Fantasy I may want to stick to the smaller ships in the future. Hopefully there won't be a problem with that. :confused3

I didn't find the adult pool too crowded nor the clubs. The shows were good on deck. It did seem strange to have a area to sit on the deck between two pools to watch the big screen. I did miss on pirates night dancing a conga line around the dining area. I don't know if that was because of 1st seating or they just didn't do it. I'm sure now that I will be on the Fantasy and on deck 5. I will miss the hidden deck. The jogging deck on the Magic has a portion where you can see the ropes that get dropped. It was enclosed on the Dream.

We were also on a podcast cruise (Lou Mongello) and there about 500 of us so there were things that the group were doing different from a regular cruise.

This should still be a great cruise especially since it is a Western.

This is a pic of when the put lounge chairs between the two pools to watch the big scree.

I am so glad that you posted that about the pools. That was my one fear after booking our cruise. I had noticed that they didn't add any pools on the new ships but almost 2x the amount of people! I guess the aquaduck would sorta be like adding a pool. I also remember on the Wonder that lots of areas that were empty most of the time so they could of handled increased guests easily. I imagine also that the Fantasy won't be exactly like the Dream. Hopefully any issues that they are having on the Dream can still be tweaked out before the Fantasy is finished.

Sometimes there was quite a line for the aquaduck. I'm also hoping everything will be tweaked by then.

I can't wait to ride the Aquaduck. I think that I am more excited about it then the girls! Whenever we go somewhere with a waterslide I have to ride it. When we were at OKW last month I was the only adult on the waterslide and I rode it 2x. :cutie:

There's nothing wrong with being young at heart and doing what you want to do:cool1:

Does anyone else think he looks just like Gusteau from Ratatouille?
I just realized this. :rotfl:
I was wondering if anyone would notice that - good job. If that was amusing check this one out. Look at Donald. You get a really good view of him while on the aquaduck. Can you figure the idea behind him being where he is?

The only thing that I can figure out is maybe he was on the watercoaster and took a turn too fast because he has the innertube around him. :confused3

Absolutely correct - except he is on the aquaduck - you win - you won't QUACK up .:rotfl2:

You must watch the detective shows.

When I saw him like that I just had to have a picture
