Hey guys never posted on the Resorts boards before but hopefully you guys can help me with something. I am going to Disney October 16-23, and I have already booked the Holiday Inn Family Suites, which I did because we are going to Universal, this time and doing some other off property activities, but I would really really like to stay on property at WDW. What I want to know is if anyone stayed there last year around this time and would be able to tell me what the rates were like last year. I am a AAA member and I have talked to them but the rates aren't set yet, because they are not in that season I guess. But I am a AAA member and a Fl resident so can anyone else give me an idea because I can't wait until the codes come out. Thanks guys.
Kim
Ps: We have never stayed anywhere on property but the Values, and I would like to try somewhere else if it is a reasonable rate.

Come on guys doesn't anyone else have any advice or experience with the rates during this time frame?? I really would love to stay back on property, but I need to know what the rates are like during this time.

I don't know what the rates generally are for that season. We will be there at the end of Oct but booked the DV 7/4 package. I would also suggest mousesavers. I know Mary keeps a list of historical rate/code trends on her site. I'm sure rate rate prices will be listed somewhere there as well. Discount codes for that time usually come out late july/August

The rates are a bit higher that what I think they should be for that time of year because it is regular season instead of value. We stayed at the Poly last year during that week at $240 per night passholder rate for standard garden room. I am sure there will be codes for that time period, probably about what they are for right now. The parks aren't too crowded because most kids are in school. But we here in the north are on fall break that week and we always head down for some Florida sun before the winter sets in. Since you have only stayed at value, I would suggest moving up to a moderate if money is an issue. I personally would avoid Coronado because their food court is more pricey than the others, and there is an added service fee for everything. Port Orleans is great. I know that no matter where you stay you will have a great time. And if you book now and rates do come out, you can always have the code added to your ressie so not to worry.

miniefan: I just booked two ressies with the AAA rate for the first week of October so the AAA rates are available (maybe not Florida AAA rates). I received a 15% discount for All Star Movies and a 10% discount for the Beach Club. Not a great savings, but better than nothing. You can call CRO and request the AAA discount. I am hoping that there will be AP codes for October later in the summer.

Are you going this year? If, so you need to call back and talk to someone regarding the AAA rate. I've already booked a November trip with the AAA rate.
Anyhow the rack rates not including tax for regualr season are

Values $99
Moderates $144
The cheapest deluxe is $239

No one knows what sort of discounts to expect particularly with the 7 for 5 deal. Last year when they offered the 7 for 4 deal there were not many discounts to be had, although I do believe there was something for Florida residents during that time period. You can hope for a discount but for planning purposes I woldn't assume anything over 25% it could be much more or it could be nothing at all.

I have studios at either the BCV or BWV for rent. Check in Oct 17, five nights. Total cost is $750.00 much cheaper the the deluxes and better too.

Nuthut, I am definitely interested in that, I do not know much about it though. pm me or something with more details please.

Come on you guys didn't anyone go to WDW last October and stay on property??

Go to disneyworld.com to get the rates. October is not Value season - the rates are higher in October than in September or November. However, they are still pretty good. Annual Pass rates for October are supposed to be released (according to the CM I talked to last week) in about a month - month and a half.

So, for now, try the website. Doesn't cost anything to play around, and you can model all kinds of packages (or room only) deals.

October 16-23 is also the same week as the Funai Golf Classic. Last year during the golf tournament, the deluxes near Magic Kindom (Grand Floridian, Poly, WL) were booked but the value and moderate resorts were available. Don't hold me to these numbers but I think we got All Stars for $79 and Coronado Springs for $109 with AP discount.

Go to www.allearsnet.com

Then click on accomodations. On the left hand side, if you scroll down is a list of each of the resorts. Find the one you want, and click on fact sheet.

There's a chart with the rates and season for each resort. You can find out what the rates are for whichever resort you'd like to stay at.

I stayed at POR last October 23rd - 27th. I paid $136.48 a night for a standard room. That is with tax. It was a Disney Club discount. HTH
