I was told by MS a couple of weeks ago that they will allow 5 in a 1 bdrm. as long as 1 is a child. Does the same hold true in a studio? I don't see much difference other than possibly they're figuring 3 in the king and 2 on the sofa and in the studio the bedding is smaller. Anyone know???

You can put 5 in a studio if one is a child under 3. Otherwise, MS won't allow it. They have made exceptions for 1-BDR villas, but not studios.

Given the choice, I'd consider a 1-BDR well worth the extra points. 5 people in a studio, even if one is an infant, is going to be awfully crowded. With the sofa bed pulled out, the only place to put a crib is in the entranceway (not a good idea in case of a fire), or in front of the vanity, so that anyone who has to visit the bathroom in the middle of the night will inevitably wake the baby.

It depends on the resort as well. An OKW 1 bedroom will have extra room for the Pac-N-Play bed for a toddler, but the other resorts are a bit more cramped. You don't say the ages, but MS will not allow 5 in a studio unless one is small enough for the Pac-N-Play crib. The WILL allow 5 in a 1 bedroom, but there will be no extra bedding provided for the 5th person if it is anyone other than a Pac-N-Play size child. Remember that you will also only have towels for 4.
