Obstructed View Rooms

I've been seeing people getting discounts on rooms with obstructed views. I've got a few questions about them:
1. Do you have to call to get a discount on an obstructed view room or can you do it online?
2. Do APH and AAA discounts apply to these rooms?
3. What makes the view "obstructed"?
4. Are these available at all 3 hotels?
5. Any chance of getting a "deluxe" with a pull out sofa in an obstructed view room?

YOu need to call for obstructed views and yes you can get them discounted. Obstructed usually means palm trees in the way but it could be other undesirables. I've only been offered obstructed at HRH but don't know about the others. You'd have to ask about the deluxe with obstructed.

We had an obstructed view in Sept. It can be combined with APH rate. Our rate was $144 for Thurs. night, then $174 for Fri & Sat. The window wasn't actually "obstructed" but it did overlook a roof a few floors below. We could actually see parts of US from our room and at night saw the sign for Twister. For 3 nts. we saved $30 which was fine for us. We're not into having a view unless we stay at RPR and can see the Hulk. We spent very little time in the room.
You do have to call to get the rate.
I know for certain it's not available at RPR. Not sure about PBH. Also not sure about deluxe rooms or pull out sofa. Sorry.

I will try to post some pix but really need to get my kiddos to bed now. I will try this weekend.
