A VGT rate just came out on a cruise we’re interested in. We’re going to be on the Fantasy in three weeks. I know I can’t use a placeholder to pay for VGT, but can I book a VGT on the Fantasy and get the discount? Thanks.

Unless they have changed it back to how it was pre-COVID, no. You can't book specific cruises on board any longer. Only the stupid future cruise generic option. ANNOYING as that just adds another step to the process for those of us who know what we're wanting to book.

At this time you can only book a placeholder onboard, not a specific cruise. But even when/if that was an option, no you cannot combine OBB discount and a *GT booking.

There’s no difference in price whether you book now or later. No discount on GT cruises. The only difference is that 3 weeks from now the discount or category may be gone.

You can use onboard wifi to book VGT independently while onboard. That's currently the only way you can book VGT while onboard. VGT is not combinable with other DCL discounts, so it won't be any cheaper if purchased while onboard.
