Personally, I'm curious because I'm seeing more of those who are Liberal gravitating towards McCain than I expected. I'm wondering why they're doing so (besides the understandable disgust with the Democratic Party).
Of course, DisUnc doesn't have to answer.I'm just mulling over a lot of things in my head right now so I might get a little nosy sometimes.
Some of the comments here led me to think back to when Reagen was the darlin' of the religious right. The guy virtually never attended church before becoming President unless it was for a funeral or a campaign event, and his wife consulted psychics and astrologers. Now he is among the venerated in the fundamental christian version of Mount Olympus. Makes ya wonder.
PUMA aside, do you still consider yourself liberal?
DisUnc, I know that you've rejected the Democratic Party and I understand your reasoning. Do you still consider yourself a Liberal? There are so many things that I dislike about McCain's platform simply because I am a Liberal. I admit that I do lean a bit toward the moderate area though so I don't dislike McCain as much as some do.
ETA: Didn't mean to repeat someone else's question!
Why do y'all care so much how DISUNC labels himself?![]()

He could be a double agent for all I care. He's fun to have around though, and I'm glad we haunt the same places.
Thanks!I'll second that.
Just google "Obama lies"!Do you have any evidence to back that up?.
I believe what Rev. Jackson said was that the EVENT of a major party nomination of a black man was so historically significant that it should be added to the Bible. Not Obama personally because he's the second coming, as you would like us all to think. Besides, since when is a candidate or his supporters responsible for everything another supporter might say?Especially considering the source of the quote, nobody has to denounce every off-the-wall thing that man says.
?.
Um, that sounds more like a sexual attraction than a religious attraction to me!
Thats for another thread...THAT I WILL NOT START!
Not just the term...the WHOLE speech!Since when does the term "the one" relate only to religion?![]()
Fight fire with fire!I don't know. Some of the fervor and venom with which some people oppose Obama seem more cultish to me, and again, I'm not an Obama supporter myself.
Well bless my heart, you have finally gone over the edge. I guess it's all those chemicals in the green dye seeping into the grey matter..
Abortion is here to stay ...NO ONE will turn it around! Anything reference by any politian otherwise is pure rederick. Please don't tell me that you are going to vote for Mr. Anti-choice, "keep wymams in their place" now that Sen Clinton has make her exit..
Who is Coach K??????And, along with being a stoopid quiestion, we all know that Coach K is the second coming..

Yes, but he was more than just a "darlin' of the religious right". A lot of dems liked him too. Otherwise, how could he have carried 49 out of 50 states when running for his second term in office.

No, I don't think most people would agree with that statement. He is a man -- nothing more, nothing less.So you can either think he is Jesus arisen or the devil? Is there nothing in the middle.
How could any Christian believe that adding to the Bible is a good idea? Which of us is qualified to say, "You know, God didn't quite get it right; I think I'll just add a few chapters about this guy I think is pretty cool. Surely he's as important as David, Samuel, Noah, Job, Jacob and all those other dudes about whom God wrote! Yeah, I can add to God's word!" What's that verse that specifically forbids adding or subtracting from His word? I guess the good reverand ignores that one!You do realize that when a former Presidential candidate claims that Obama should be added onto the Bible...and that he is SERIOUS.
While wheather you like them or not, Bush & McCain do come off as more as they 'guys" next door...stereotypical Democrat like.
With Obama it is different. There are many many MANY Religious type quotes about him, Pictures...the way many of his supporters regard him. This Obama phenom is not a one or two of a kind thing. This is definitely a concerned effort to elevate him to some type of Deity. I have never seen this of anyone...Heck The Pope wishes he can get this type of Promo.![]()
But oh, Sen. McCain is believed! Even when he says over and over "Sen. Obama will raise taxes for every person in this country", (not true). Obama himself has stated more than once that he will not raise taxes for anyone who makes less than $200,000 a year. Of course why should what he says make any difference when everyone else can just put words in his mouth. And Obama keeps saying that McCain said that we would be fighting in Iraq for 100 years -- not what McCain said. --
What ever zealous followers might do or say can not logically be blamed on him. I mean really... just look at the ridiculous things being said here by some of those who support other candidates.![]()
It's only June and I'm already sick of all this hysteria.
Why is it so hard to believe Obama is just a dedicated man who cares?

Maybe it is because he is a POLITICIAN -- and he has shown himself to be one through and through.
If Obama happens to get elected I will pray for him every day, and hope to no end that our nation survives his hopefully teeny tiny uneventful tenure without being totally economically and strategically crippled for generations to come.
No bolt of lightning needed to support Obama with this kid, just a boatload of common sense...

All these highly comical threads about Obama being the second coming, the anti christ, a communist, a terrorist, etc., alot of silly Republican giggling, and not a single one about any of Maverick McCain's positives. Not for nothing Conservatives, but I'm not loving your chances this November...
