How in God's name does a country like ours not get a verifiable paper trail ballot and voting machines that work?!![]()
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/seth-grahamesmith/ten-things-to-remember-on_b_97897.htmlIn hope of preventing some of this hysteria (especially my own), I thought it'd be helpful to keep a few things in mind during Tuesday night's results -- from Hillary's "victory" speech to the blizzard of spin that's sure to follow:
1. Remember that there's no way Hillary can become the nominee without a superdelegate coup -- which would alienate a generation of young Democrats and dangerously fracture the party.
2. Remember that her campaign leaked internals showing an eleven point lead (as a means of firing up her supporters and getting out the vote). Therefore, any win smaller than eleven points should be considered a disappointment by her own assessment.
3. Remember that every time Hillary begins a sentence with "you know," or "my opponent," the next thing out of her mouth is a lie.
4. Remember that when Clinton surrogates say "this proves Obama can't win the big states," they're ignoring the fact that he actually won more delegates in Texas -- not to mention twice as many states as she has.
5. Remember that when the pundits argue that Obama can't win in white rural areas because they broke for Hillary, they're ignoring the fact that he won (in alphabetical order): Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
6. Remember that when Hillary talks about who will be "better against John McCain in the fall," she's talking about the fall of 2012.
7. Remember that Hillary's campaign is $10M in debt, while Obama's has more than $40M in cash on hand.
8. Remember that Hillary's lead in Pennsylvania was as a high as 26 points only a month ago.
9. Remember that Hillary's late Pennsylvania rebound was forged in the fires of negativity and fear-mongering.
10. Remember that the only manufacturing job Hillary ever brought to Pennsylvania was the manufactured notion that she was a middle-class, whisky-swilling duck killer, and not an anti-union multi-millionaire.

And everything that comes out of Bill's Mouth is a lie one way or the other, since he comes out on both sides of the fence on most issues, he can always say he's somewhere in the middle I suppose(And yes I voted for him twice)

NBC/NJ: Sir, what did you mean yesterday when you said that the Obama campaign was playing the race card on you?
CLINTON: When did I say that, and to whom did I say that?
NBC/NJ: On WHYY radio yesterday
CLINTON: No, no, no. Thats not what I said. You always follow me around and play these little games, and Im not going to play your games today. This is a day about election day. Go back and see what the question was, and what my answer was. You have mischaracterized it to get another cheap story to divert the American people from the real urgent issues before us, and I choose not to play your game today. Have a nice day.
NBC/NJ: On WHYY radio yesterday
--- what he actually said on WHYY radio:
INTERVIEWER (RE: Jackson comment): Do you think that was a mistake, and would you do that again?"
CLINTON: "No. I think that they played the race card on me. And we now know, from memos from the campaign and everything, that they planned to do it along. As an aside, the BBC is reporting (Worldwide) the obliterate comment made my HRC in regards to Iran, it's on their front page... After 7 years of the worldwide community laughing at us, I would have hoped for something better, but nope.... Plenty of fodder on this one....
I was reading some comments from supporters on the Obama blog and there have been calls to radio stations that some ballots don't even have Obama's name on them?![]()
I'm new to PA and when I went to vote today my county had a printed paper ballot. Not only was Obama's name there, he was the first one on top. Very Easy!
The officials told me there will be paper ballots for November also. They had so much trouble with the electronic machines they sent back all of them. That's fine by me. I like having a paper trail!
I used to really admire Bill Clinton...this election season has ruined that for me.

Wait, you're in PA & have paper ballots? I thought they had converted every precinct to electronic machines? Why are some precincts with paper ballots, some without? If the machines weren't good enough in your precinct, what about the precinct next door?
Glad to hear you voted thoughand that it went smoothly, that's better!
It's up to each individual county (or even precinct), I suppose. Like I said, I'm a newbie. I'm used to the old New York lever machines that are apparently indestructable. I'm in the boonies up here so I wasn't too surprised. Actually I was more surprised that they had tried electronic machines at all! And they did say quite clearly that paper will be used this November too.
SIGNS OF RECORD TURNOUT IN PHILLY AND BURBS
Bright skies, record enrollment in the Democratic Party and the potential for Barack Obama to throw a knockout punch or Hillary Clinton to hang on to fight another day are all spurring what is shaping up as a huge early turnout in Philadelphia and its surrounding counties.
It is way to soon to say who has the advantage, but Democratic sources tell The Mouth that the vote through midday was high to very high in Philadelphia, Montgomery County, Bucks County, Delaware County and Chester County. Philly, Montgomery and Bucks are key to Obama keeping an expected Clinton victory within 10 points statewide, Obama insiders predict.
I know what you meanMaybe it was because I was younger that I didn't see what his character was really like, maybe I was just blinded, I've no idea, maybe he's changed over the years, who's to say, I just can't say that I respect him nearly so much anymore... It's on video when he says this stuff, does he not know that??
I am not talking about his record here, of course I am a democrat and I am proud of all the things listed above...the low unemployment and balanced budget. However, when I hear him say things on the campaign trail like..."Well even Jesse Jackson won the South Carolina primary," and his denial of saying to WHYY that Obama's campaign played the race card against him, when he clearly, and on tape did, well I start to view him in a different light. When he was out on the road waving his finger around a lot in campaign speeches, I was like, "Wow, I never saw Bill this way, and I don't like it." I never said he was not a great president, it is just now I feel that I have seen another side to him that I am not fond of.
I do remember him then, 1992 was the first election I ever voted in and I voted for him, as I did again in 1996.
That IS really odd, I always assumed each state had a statewide program, learn something new everyday....
And those Lever machines are indestructible LOL...
