Good morning Obamans... time to get some coffee and get to work.

I'm working with 2 other graphic designers and our media person on things yet to be mentioned to me.. lol.

You don't get a lot of sleep! You've been so busy! You're doing a fantastic job though, and we thank you :)

ALthough I know some don't "go" with the polls, I just had to say that Rasmussen is showing PA down to 47% Hillary-44% Obama. I am praying every day that he can pull the upset . There is also a poll on comcast.net from AP-Yahoo that he has pulled away as the most electable candidate depsite getting banged up .

Newsweek has a column about how Obama is being "Kerryized". When he should be attacking McCain, he's being forced to talk about lapel pins. Now, I would expect this from the Right, but it saddens me beyond belief that fellow Democrats are playing into it. If McCain wins in November, I think we will all be able to look back on the actions of those within the Democratic party for part of the blame.

Fits and Robrs, This is purely curiosity and you really don't have to answer if you don't want to. I know you support both Dems, but are you at all starting to turn away from Hillary due to the last few weeks of her negatives. Would you consider yourself as voting FOR her in Nov or just voting AGAINST McCain??? Like I said , I know you have strongly supported each candidate and I just wondered if you are having other ideas lately. PURE CURIOSITY I PROMISE!!!!

FTR, I had once said I would support Hillary if she got the nod, but now I probably will sit out, mostly due to the last several weeks of her campainging.

I know you are not addressing me but I do support both. However, I am now at the point that I will be voting against McBush if Hillary gets the nom. I am very dissapointed in how she is running her campaign and the petty attacks on Obama. She and many of her supporters seem to only care about beating Obama for the nomination, and not winning the general election.

You would think they would realize by now that the attacks on Obama have not given her any bounce in the polls. This tactic of let's make Obama look bad so people will vote for Hillary isn't working; it's driving more people to vote for McCain.

I don't like her negative style, I'll readily admit that. I keep going back to what I learned about her when she got the Senate seat in NY. I live in NWNJ, my local TV stations all come out of Manhattan, so I saw every debate, every commercial and by the time the election rolled around I was putting her on mute. I didn't like her campaign style then either, but I was very impressed with the work she did once she won. I really do believe that the same would happen if she were to win the nomination and the election.

I also truly do not believe that having 4 more years of full speed ahead in Iraq, a willingness to go to war in Iran, a continuation of an economic policy that has led us into a recession AND the potential of naming more than one Supreme Court Justice iis better than a negative campaigning style. The last 8 years have been bad enough, do we really want more of the same??

I totally agree.

I also have to say I am extraordinarily concerned with this new "umbrella" Clinton has laid out there that we would protect every arab country should Iran attack them, just so long as they promise not to develop nuclear weapons... First, it's not our place, second, it's not HER place, and third, does she know nothing about the region? They don't want us there! Oh, and fourth, how in God's name would we pay for this massive retaliation & with whose blood? Talk about being Hawkish, I'm sorry, I could never support such a prospect. It makes John McCain look like a kitten, I'm sorry. It's taken Hawkish to an all new level.

On a nice aside, I don't know if everyone stayed up to watch Stephen Colbert last night, but it was hysterical.

Here's a review:

In January 1995, as the Clintons were licking their wounds from the 1994 congressional elections, a debate emerged at a retreat at Camp David. Should the administration make overtures to working class white southerners who had all but forsaken the Democratic Party? The then-first lady took a less than inclusive approach.

"Screw 'em," she told her husband. "You don't owe them a thing, Bill. They're doing nothing for you; you don't have to do anything for them."

The statement -- which author Benjamin Barber witnessed and wrote about in his book, "The Truth of Power: Intellectual Affairs in the Clinton White House" -- was prompted by another speaker raising the difficulties of reaching "Reagan Democrats." It stands in stark contrast to the attitude the New York Democrat has recently taken on the campaign trail, in which she has presented herself as the one candidate who understands the working-class needs.

Question is, does this merit it's own thread? ;)

I assume you're talking to me "robinb" and not "robinrs" :). To answer your question ... YES. I would still vote FOR Hillary and not just AGAINST McCain. I can cheerfully say the same thing for Obama.

I personally think that "going negative" is in the eye of the beholder. I think that some (yes, that dreaded word "some") Obama supporters will nit-pick every single little thing that Hillary says or does and just for the chance to scream "NEGATIVE!" at the top of their lungs. It just wears on me and when I might be able to work up a little bit of outrage over a true "negative" comment but I have heard "wolf" cried too many times to really pay attention to any of it.

I have also noticed that when Obama says something negative about Hillary there seems to be no outrage on this thread. I totally understand that it's hard to find fault in your own candidate it just seems a little hypocritical to attack Clinton at every turn for something and give your own candidate a free pass.

But that "free pass" for your own candidate is the very nature of politics. As is negative campaigning. Let's face it ... they are both politicians and they will do what politicians do to win. As their supporters, we will look the other way or make excuses for them when it comes to things that we don't like.

Since some folks presumably know beyond a reasonable doubt that Obama saluted HRC with the flying fickle finger of fate and now has once and for all demonstated that he is the elitist, classless, snob, prig, and pig they all know him to be, and we are hapless schmoes who hate HRC and just don't know any better, I say WTH not. ;)

By all means, run with it. I'm actually leaving for WDW in about a half an hour and can't give the topic the attention it dearly needs. :teeth:

This wasn't addressed to me either but I'll answer. Back in December I was undecided as to who I should support and decided upon Obama for various reasons I won't get into now since I've made them clear in the past. However, I had no problem voting for Hillary in the beginning and then I was decidedly against ever voting for her. I came to my senses and realized my personal distrust and dislike of her isn't enough to see this country get put into McCain's hands with another SC nominee, the war, and civil rights. I will vote for Hillary, but as a vote against McCain.
