Thanks, but boy did you just make yourself unpopular with a bunch of people on that other thread.
Overall, though, I think we've got a pretty knowledgable group that post on this particular thread. That's one of the reasons I get so irritated by the "kool aid" and "falling for pretty words" stuff. A lot of the folks on this thread follow politics pretty closely, so it bothers me when others try to classify our support of Obama as being somehow less informed than their support of Hillary or McCain. Just for the record, there are informed posters that support both of those candidates (though, I suspect the percentage runs higher in the group of Hillary supporters than in McCain's base), just as there are those that don't seem to have much grasp of the issues. The difference is, I think everyone here recognizes that fact, while I'm not sure we get quite the same credit from them.


Hah, thats life,,,they'll get over it and if they don't they have more issues than I care to delve into. I could really care less what people I will never personally meet think of me. Heck I don't even much care for what the people I know think of me .

And just for the record, I am actually a Clinton type voter...I am white, female, 38 , no college education who until this past Aug. had a household income of under $55K AND I DON"T DRINK COFFEE OR ALCOHOL of any sort!!!
And I'm originally from Ohio...How much more stereotypical can I get??
Oh and I;m a lapsed Catholic, though I;m still not sure what side THAT puts me on?

Fortunately for me, I am still bright enough to figure out when I"m been fed a line of BS (or whole field full for that matter) and am pretty competent in deciding who I support (and no it has nothing to do with anything blowing out my butt either, which is another endearing trait we Obamamites apparently have now.).

Did you see the news clips of Hill and her shot with a beer chaser??? But darn that Obama and his elitist OJ....Ok, then, whatever. I'd rather my president be sober at 3 a.m. thank you very much. Not drunk, senile and sleep deprived. Oy!


I have a new theme song for the HRC campaign, that I started hearing in my head these last few weeks....Lies, Lies Lies (Culture Club maybe??)

Since Mark Penn still has an active role in HRC's campaign, any thoughts on his consulting firm's role in defeating union campaigns and how this meshes with HRC's identification and understanding of the average, working 'joe/jane.' Here's a link to some interesting reading...

You guys have GOT to go check out the "political videos" section at DU! There are some incredible clips there. I'm not sure which is my favorite at this point, but the mashup of Clinton doing her Shrillary "shame on you" act for Obama's elitism and Barack's response is just worthy.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — One of Minnesota's last uncommitted Democratic superdelegates is backing Barack Obama, the Obama campaign announced Sunday.

Nancy Larson, of Dassel, a Democratic National Committee member, told The Associated Press she decided to support Obama because his campaign will bring new people into the political process, and she believes he has the best chance of winning in November.

"It's looking more and more that the one person who can do it is Barack Obama," Larson said.

But Larson said the choice wasn't easy. As one of the last two uncommitted superdelegates in Minnesota, Larson had been lobbied heavily by Obama's and Hillary Clinton's campaigns. She said she spent countless hours speaking with the campaigns and others about her choice.

Larson joins eight other Minnesota superdelegates who are supporting Obama. Three are backing Clinton.

The debate coming up is on Wednesday night 8-10pm I believe and is being carried on a major network (the network that carries The View) I'd give the network but I have no idea, up here it's being broadcast on a Canadian station (go figure)....

Thanks..I knew I saw something somewhere...I think the thing tonight is live (I think its the Compassion Forum,, I think it is live, because they referernced on CNN that Obama can further answer this latest distraction. I hope he brings it! This should be good.

I didn;t watch all of it, but I saw I did notice that and even commented to my dd. One of the commentators analyzing afterwards said Obama was more fluent in his answers than Hilary was.

Obama lashes out at Clinton over her response to 'bitter' remarks

STEELTON, Pennsylvania (CNN) - A visibly agitated Barack Obama accused Hillary Clinton Sunday of acting like "Annie Oakley …packin’ a six shooter” in her attempts to connect with gun wners, and used some of his most heated language to date to attack her and her campaign for heir reaction to his comments from a now infamous California fundraiser.

"Shame on her!"he told a Steelton crowd.

"I expected this out of John McCain," Obama said in a voice more commanding than the his usual stump tone. "But I've gotta say, I'm a little disappointed when I start hearing the exact same talking points coming out of my Democratic colleague Hillary Clinton. She knows better. Shame on her."

At a closed-press event one week ago, Obama referred to some small-town Pennsylvanians as "bitter" people who "cling to guns and religion."

Clinton has since called him "out of touch" and said the Illinois senator's remarks were "demeaning" and "elitist."

Obama fired back in a room of supporters at a Pennsylvania union hall.

"She's running around talking about how this is an insult to sportsmen, how she values the Second Amendment," he said, his voice rising. "She's talking like she's Annie Oakley! Hillary Clinton's out there like she's on the duck blind every Sunday, [like] she's packin' a six shooter! C'mon! She knows better."

"That's some politics being played by Hillary Clinton," he added. "When Hillary Clinton says I'm out of touch I just have to remind people of the track record." He then went on to attack her for "campaigning for NAFTA" for "a decade" during her husband's administration.

"This is the same person who says she's voting for the Colombia trade deal. [It] turns out that her top adviser, her top strategist was working for the Colombian government to get the bill passed!"

"Who do you think is out of touch?" he shouted. The room erupted with people shouting Clinton's name and even one "'what's her name' is!"

Obama's comments came just a short time after the two Democratic opponents shared a tarmac as they landed in Harrisburg and exited their planes almost simultaneously and only minutes before the pair were to take part in CNN's Compassion Forum.

I thought Obama sounded so much more sincere than Hillary.

She sounded stiff and rehearsed. I think it's going to hurt her in the long run, and the Superdelegates are going to be miffed, at the way she kept trying to peg Obama as an "elitist".

I do hope some aren't scared away because a latte loving San Franciscan started it. I can't stand Hillary, but she is a liberal and so are her supporters. I so hope they join in.
