Obama supporters! - A positive place to talk about his campaign

Worth mentioning, a midwestern state, site of Japanese internment camps, Mathew Sheppard Gay hate crime and 88% white goes big for Obama. How, exactly does the HRC campaign spin that she is more electable? Who in the party is going to tell her to stop, its over, quite backing McCain instead of the Democratic nominee?

Wyoming.....Check:thumbsup2

Mississippi....You're on Deck:)

I'm not profdsny, but I will say it didn't seem like the remark was baiting to me. I don't think any Obama or Clinton supporter would try that. It seemed that the remark was about the few small-minded people who do think that things like flag pins matter, contesting the notion that "a lot of people" are angry at Barack, and wondering why a Hillary supporter would believe "a lot" are. I think people who care about lapel pins, religious beliefs and ethnicity when choosing a candidate wouldn't vote for either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.

Laura, thanks very much. I do appreciate the comment. If you, or any other person wants to simply post on that board that I will not return there and try to either reinterpret or any other way respond to them, I would appreciate it.
While I do appreciate Hound coming over here to reach out to me,(and give him or her my appreciation) I am still very upset at their response. I should think by now my credentials are well enough established on many of these boards, and I should not have been subject to those attacks from people who are, basically, on the same side.
But, again, Laura, thanks.

prof, i'll be happy to post on the HC board.

I think it was the last sentence in the post that could be read different ways (fwiw). I think we're all pretty sensitive these days & since you've made things clear to me, i'll forward the same.

Ironic that two people with over 2000 posts (who both want a Democrat in the WH) don't know each other. (I'm a dude btw......who likes "tough chicks" ;) )

But THANK YOU for responding....I feel ALOT better knowing where you're coming from.

Congrats to the BO thread on your Wyoming victory....I suspect both of our candidates will be eating pork shoulder & black beans & rice while pitching for votes in Puerto Rico at the last primary. :hippie:

Just popping in for a moment (I will keep a light footprint as I am an interloper here)

Profdsny,

I can say for my part that , while I am not on your "side", your perspective is always well considered, consistent and I have never read anything from you in our past "collisions" that would suggest a bias on race, gender or anything so base (now ideas, world view? Absolutely!) lol

I have no idea what was said on the other thread (it moves too fast for me to keep up-plus it's a bit like cheating ;) ).

I say, chalk it up to an extremely confusing Primary process and get ready for the "Pennant Race". I assure you, I shall. :thumbsup2

See you there. :)

Regards,

MrMan

I think Obama appeals to a broader swath of voters than Hillary, which is one of the reasons I voted for him. I know that in VA, he has a real shot of turning this state blue, thanks to Northern Virginia.

Then we can work on PA. :woohoo:

I follow the delegate count daily:

We were up by 109 earlier in the week, then 111, then 121, and now it was just updated to 123.

*includes super and pledged delegates

Mr. Man. Thank you very much. That is a nice post from you, and I really do appreciate it very much.

"Nobel winner: Hillary Clinton's 'silly' Irish peace claims

"Hillary Clinton had no direct role in bringing peace to Northern Ireland and is a "wee bit silly" for exaggerating the part she played, according to Lord Trimble of Lisnagarvey, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and former First Minister of the province."

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...wuspols108.xml

With a lifetime of experience, wonder why Hillary didn't know Monica was doing overtime in the White House?

I went to Obama's website and he has wonderful ideas. The only thing I couldn't find was how we are going to pay for all of it. Can someone please direct me to the info.

Thanks!

Lynne

Off the campaign wire: Obama says he won't be Clinton's VP

"Responding to speculation about a joint ticket, Barack Obama says he will not play second fiddle to Hillary Clinton.

Obama told KTVQ in Billings, Mont., Friday: “You won’t see me as a vice presidential candidate.”

“I’m running for president,” he told the television station. “We have won twice as many states as Senator Clinton, and have a higher popular vote, and I think we can maintain our delegate count — but you know, what I’m really focused on right now, because all that stuff is premature, is winning this nomination and changing the country.”

(I think he needs to end all the speculation the Clintons are making in this area. Glad he made the statement. )

Can I join in on the fun ??? I may be too young to vote but i do support Obama in anyway I can I'm very dissappointed that Obama lost TX and Conneticut (is it) I've been sick and had knee surgery this week so i'm kinda behind but LETS GO OBAMA

You're quite welcome. I thought your comment was simply taken the wrong way. :)

And a woot for Obama winning Wyoming! :woohoo:

Gosh! I can tell your question is really sincere!

Ummm....how do you think the government pays for any of the crap it does now?

Obama ending the stupid, costly, pointless war in Iraq will save a few billion right there.

Don't you guys get it yet? Wyoming doesn't matter, and neither do the 27 (28 after Tuesday) other states that Obama has won. Only states Hillary wins matter.

;)

The "swing state" argument is simply a lie. Obama can make states like Virginia and North Carolina into swing states, without losing states like Ohio as possible "blue" states at the same time. Why? Because even though Barack lost to Hillary in Ohio, he's going to be going head-to-head against a rabid "free trader" in the general election. They may have doubts about Obama's commitment to changing NAFTA - thanks to well planned and timed dirty tricks - but they should have no doubt that McCain won't even consider making any changes to it.

The simple fact is that Barack is emmanantly more electable than Hillary is. He brings an energized group of supporters with him that have historically not been involved much, and he doesn't generate sheer hatred from the right. Both of those things change when Hillary is the nominee (the notion that "the conservatives don't hate her" that one or two of her supporters keep pushing is laughable to anybody that paid attention during the Clinton presidency). She simply can't win, and I've been saying that for as long as her candidacy has been talked about (and well before I ever stated that she wouldn't get my vote).

I'll double the :worship: :worship:

Great news on Foster picking up Hastert's seat! Obama endorsed him and ran an ad for Foster. It shows the power of an Obama ticket at the top for candidates all the way down the ballot.

Foster's win

Eric Zorn calls the victory of.a Democrat to succeed Denny Hastert "stunning," and it's both a great talking point for Obama -- who cut an ad for him -- and another superdelegate.
