Obama supporters! - A positive place to talk about his campaign

Of course, this is the Obama supporters-positive talk place.:goodvibes
So, I'm guessing you've decided that President Bush isn't your guy? Or...maybe McCain? :rotfl:

Either that or they posted on the wrong thread LOL....

Personally, with everything she has done, including mocking Obama supporters, having her staff put out defamatory information regarding Obama and then apologizing later in private, the newest likening of Obama to Ken Starr, the kitchen sink tactics, the Canadian fiasco, the list goes on, I will not vote for her AT ALL. I will say that now, and my mind will not change. Period. I have to vote my own conscience and my own moral's and she is not representative of either, nor is McCain, I will cast an empty ballot, write Obama in, or vote for Nader, but I will not vote for her, not that she needs my vote since according to her cronies, States like ours do not matter.
I am equally dismayed at the scorched earth Clinton campaign.

Beyond that, I think it's quite worrisome that a candidate for the Presidency has decided the US is a two-tier nation. :sad2:

Those of us from undesirable states apologize in advance for living in the "wrong" place. Wonder how much longer we'll be afforded statehood if the Clintons end up ruling?

Just split the delegates from Florida and Michigan 50/50 and seat them at the convention. Problem solved.:thumbsup2
I don't think so. I still think that disenfranchises the voters in both those states by saying "your votes don't count". I would rather have a redo in both states and then have the DNC review the whole primary process.

Not only was it beyond delusional, it was just plain stupid! I mean, why in the world would that campaign want anybody to remember the scandal plagued Clinton years?!? :confused3

As for Shillary...I posted it elsewhere as well, but I'm done with her. If she somehow manages to steal the party's nomination, I simply will not vote for president this fall (obviously, I'll still go to the polls, as there are local races I'd be following and have a major interest in). I refuse to give my vote to a Lieberman Democrat. Period.

Did you hear her endorsing John McCain again yesterday? The woman disgusts me, and I'd love it if Howard Dean had the guts to step up and very publicly call her out for endorsing McCain over a fellow Democrat. As much as I admire Senator Obama's campaign for refusing to get down in the slime with her, I'm almost willing to look the other way while they start putting out the truth about the (bad word deleted). I hope it ends her career.

Seriously...I'm done with her.

We'll probably cancel each other out - cause I'm probably staying home if Obama wins. :confused3

I'm just curious - any comments on the Obama aide calling Hillary (that's her name by the way) a monster?

Sometimes the rhetoric takes a life of its own.....

Sure...forced to apologize today.
Obama isn't into scorched earth politics.

Now, I'm still looking to see the Clinton apology for the Ken Starr remark. Link?

I brought Oreos. Is that okay?

Those reese cup easter eggs would be fantastic..jus' sayin' :rolleyes1

The aide publically apologized and as stated on the Hillary thread, I think it was wrong of her to say.

However, the issue at hand for me is why Hillary continues to basically endorse McCain over Obama.

As I have said in many threads recently, I will be voting for the Democratic nominee in the fall because there are bigger things at stake than my personal distrust and dislike for Hillary Clinton. It is becoming increasingly clear she doesn't feel the same way about the issues.

You know why, of course. She's decided she'll strong arm the super delegates and declare herself the best candidate. State primaries? Who needs them when you have your 'old friends. Just ignore Obama...not worth her time or trouble. She's off to the national campaign. (Never mind the permanent damage she's doing to the reputation of the Democratic Party...)

By the way, I don't think she'll prevail. But, she and Bill will emerge from this campaign damaged goods. They both should have thought through the consequences of running a scorched earth campaign.

Sad thing for me to say but I no longer have one good thing left to say about him.

Could you link to a post where, in the past, you did? :confused3 What has he done to earn your disrespect?

We'll probably cancel each other out - cause I'm probably staying home if Obama wins. :confused3

As to the "monster" comment...the aide apologized for it, and has since resigned. It was an inappropriate comment. But if the aide had called her a "political hack", I'd have applauded.

As to us "canceling each other out", might I ask what Obama has done to earn that disrespect? Can you point to a single lie, smear, or anything else that he's said about her? I'm just curious why you would refuse to vote for a candidate that has refused every opportunity to go negative throughout this campaign. :confused3

I raised that question last night on the Liberal thread too. It seems silly to include their delegates in how many needed to nominate when 0 were awarded. Obama is 300ish away if 1842 is the number.
I don't think that is what happened.

There have been 2642 pledged delegates so far according to real clear politics and 566 left to be voted on. There are 3253 total pledged to be won and 795 supers. Add them and divide by 2 you get 2024 or one less than the magic number.

3253 minus the 2642 already pledged and the 566 left is 45. I know there are still a few left here and there to be handed out in states like Texas and even some super tuesday contests.

Just a guess, but if Fla. and Mich. are included the number will have to go up closer to 2200 or there will be two candidates who pass 2025.

According to RCP:

Yesterday Obama had a 109 overall delegate lead. Today it stands at 111.

Yes, I stalk the counts daily. :lmao:

Yeah, I think you are right. I was just googling 2004 and the required number was higher than 2025. Thanks for the clarification.

Great Op-Ed that spells out the line that Clinton has crossed, and why it's so disloyal to the Democratic Party.

"Who would Hillary Clinton rather be president, Barack Obama or John McCain? The answer should be obvious. But these days Clinton keeps saying that McCain is ready to be commander-in-chief, and Obama is not.

"I think it's imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the commander-in-chief threshold," Clinton said yesterday. "I believe that I've done that. Certainly, Sen. McCain has done that and you'll have to ask Sen. Obama with respect to his candidacy."

This is not a new line for Clinton. A few days before March 4, she said: "I think you'll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say. He's never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002."

Now, if she wanted to help ensure that a Democrat wins in November, Clinton could say: "Barack Obama is qualified to be commander-in-chief but I'm more qualified." That's a perfectly reasonable argument. Instead she's sowing doubts about a fellow Democrat while talking up the GOP nominee, a strategy that plays right into McCain's hands. When McCain says, in a general election, that Obama is not ready to be commander-in-chief, he'll only have to cite Clinton.

Man, I just came back from the 'other' thread. Whoa, are they wrapped a little too tight. I thought the Bush-Kerry stuff was hardball nasty. Considering that I just came out for BO this week, I am stunned and amazed. I think I'm going to go hanging out with Ms Early Light and Epcot Joe at the Con board, I think it's more welcoming than that one.
Got to say folks, we got trouble, we got terrible terrible trouble.

Wow, I am shocked. I give up. I'm heading to the liquor cabinet.

I agree and I've already hit the liquor cabinet so I'm one up on ya... Which other thread did you come from may I ask? The Liberal thread?

Are we not welcoming by the way? LOL....

Oh & can I say welcome to the Obama thread?? Now that you have made your decision?

HI, thanks. Lucky you. Too bad I've got to get up in the am.
I've been sort of here for a few days, but have been on the liberal board for quite some time. I actually only 'declared' really, and made up my mind, in the last day or so. Go back about a page or two, not very far back, and you'll find my post.
And, I'm talking about the Clinton board. I'm still stunned. I think this in fight not only here but in the media is going to sink us. I suspect the cons are all over themselves with laughter at how we are giving them all the ammo they need.

The whole argument that we're ALL blinded by our "love" for Obama is so ridiculous. But I think on that thread some of those posters rank among Clinton's most rabid supporters. To them, Hillary can do no wrong, and their complaints about Obama supporters sound more like self-description.

But I'm not that worried about the Republicans. They're "meh" about their own candidate, and nobody's paying attention to McCain while we have the Democrats still battling it out.

Hi everyone!! I'm a regular reader of this thread but only have posted a few times. Just wanted to chime in to say how CONFUSED I am with our candidates as well as the voters.

I thought this was a fight for the Democrats to take over the office of President?:confused3 :confused3 Since when does it make sense for one of our "own"...HILLARY...to start helping the Republican's to get their man/monkey elected?  ?????????

The last debate I watched she/hillary declared her awe and respect for Barack and how "HONORED" she was to be sitting there next to him. Where the heck is her brain? With her comments the last several days she is once again turning the Democrats as well as the State of Florida voters into the laughing stock of the Country and maybe even the World.

I am personally for Barack...HOWEVER...I will vote Democrat whoever ends up on the ballot just to hopefully make sure that JM/monkeyboy does not end up our President. Our Country is in SERIOUS trouble and we do NOT need another 4-8 years of GWB politics in the Whitehouse. JMHO, sorry if it offends!

Hillary needs to shut her mouth and start working for the good of our party as well as the good of our Country that she professes to LOVE so much and wants to WORK so HARD to FIX. Thanks for the time and space to rant!!

Have a really GREAT weekend everyone and KEEP THE FAITH and HOPE that Barack will rise above all this BS and that he will continue on his mission to lead our Country back to her GREATNESS.

God Bless America:)
