NYE and 23 days of Disney

An amazing report, I'm loving the pictures, please more! And please say hi to my son Pat, if you get a chance, he's a CM at DHS in Guest relations! Now I see what he is telling us about the crowds, thanks again for these fantastic pictures!!

Thanks for sharing your trip - it's probably the only way I'll ever know what Christmas - New Year's is like at WDW. :teeth:

Thanks for the picture of the Yellow Medicine group - just read they are trying to get back home and hoping they make it without incident. Most of Minnesota is in for more snow! (We had rain here most all day in the Twin Cities. Not fun trying to get around after it freezes. Glad I don't have to work today)!

Happy New Year!

I'm so glad that someone on another thread posted your link. I can't wait to follow along on your 23 day vacation! I can't get over the crowds!!! We usually go in June and it's busy, but HOLY COW! 70 mins for IASW????

Great trip report and video! Thanks! We were there for a week a couple of weeks ago, the crowds were not bad. We'll be there in a couple of weeks, maybe I'll see you at the Tuesday night meet at France.

So how was NYE? Inquiring minds want to know.:rotfl:
We actually made the braised short ribs from France and hot lava cake with Bailey's ganache from Ireland using our F&W cookbook. It was almost like we were there.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip. I can't imagine staying for 23 days.

Happy New Year. No snow here Carol. Finally getting up into the hi 70's.

We try to get over to all of the Owner's Locker meets so will certainly get to meet you if you are there.

My report has been lacksidaysicle (???) but I hope to get it up to date shortly. Sorry people.

Did you take any pics over at the WL? It's only been two weeks for me and I really miss it.

We took a run over there yesterday to grab a few pics for you. I'll include them as I get my report up to date.

On December 30, 2010 we went over to the beach at the Polynesian resort to watch the rehearsal of fireworks from the Magic Kingdom. I only have a little camera but did my best to video this magnificent show.

We had no interest in spending a whole day at the Magic Kingdom, leading up to New Year's Eve, so we headed to Downtown Disney Market Place to see what was going on. We figured we chance getting into the park later in the day.

Stitch is still up to no good.

It was lunch at Rainforest Cafe.

After lunch, we went back to BLT and grabbed a water taxi over to Wilderness Lodge for a quick walk around and to grab a few photos for ccigliano.

Myth: If you don't get to Magic Kingdom early in the day of New Year's Eve, you won't get in.

Fact: We went at 4:30 and had no problem entering. They were still coming it at 8:00 in the evening. I was surprised to see the following:

Most of the crowds were inside the different lands but the wait times were not as bad as on December 29, 2010.
Here's a shot of the Castle Show with Mickey Mouse.

We stood in line to ride the People Mover. I have never stood in line for the People Mover, but then again, I have never had an opportunity to see this guy before. Sometimes, lines have a useful purpose.

I had mentioned earlier that every food cart or open space that could be utilized for serving food was operational. I was wrong. El Pirata Y El Perico was not open. I have never seen it open.

Thanks for posting the video. I loved it and so did my boys. Now we just have to wait until 2012 to be there ourselves!:goodvibes

Hey David what happened to the photos from posts # 52 and 53? It says they have been moved or deleted. :confused3

I was reorganizing my photobucket stuff without realizing it was going to break the links. I think I have them put back properly. Let me know if you still have trouble viewing.

Great report - thank you for sharing. We were supposed to be at WDW this week, but had to reschedule because our college aged daughter decided she needed to do a intercession course over her break. I HATE it when my child's education gets in the way of Disney! ;) :lmao:

I feel for you. We enjoy being empty nesters.
