Does anyone know of a place that will rent and deliver a scooter to the Manhattan Terminal?
I found this one by doing a google search: Scootaround (1-888-441-7575).

Need some help from people who know New York better than me.
Times Square area hotels are just too pricey for my liking.
Wondering logistics of staying in the following areas: North Bergen, New Jersey/Long Island/Newark Airport area/Meadowlands.
Wanting to mainly do sightseeing in Manhatten. Good areas/Bad areas? Subway costs? Ferry costs? Approximate travel time? Taxi costs? Bus? for 2 adults/ 2 teens.
Thanks so much in advance for any help.
Hi All!
There are a couple of nice hotels in the Jersey City, Hoboken and Weehawkin area that you may want to check out. All of them are within walking distance to the Path System, Ferry, Light Rail System or all three.
Jersey City:
The Westin
The Hyatt
Marriott Courtyard
I would recommend any of the above in Jersey City. The Westin and Courtyard are located in downtown JC, right across the street from each other, and are within walking distance to the Path Station and Light Rail.
The Hyatt is also located in downtown JC but about a mile south of the other two. It is in walking disntance to the Path, Light Rail and Ferry. Please keep in mind that the Ferry from Jersey City to NYC only operates Monday thru Friday.
Hoboken:
The W
The W is also very nice and within walking disntance to the Light Rail, Path and Ferry. It is also within walking distance to Hoboken Train Staion. Numerous Trains run out of there to all points in NJ and upstate NY.
Weehawkin:
The Sheraton
This is also a nice hotel that is within walking distance to the Light Rail and Ferry. The ferry does not run on weekends but they do offer a free shuttle to the Ferry Station that runs on weekends.
Again I would recommend any of the above but if you are looking to get out and about I would suggest either the JC or Hoboken ones.
On a side note. If you do stay in JC or Hoboken you realy have to check out some of the restaurants in Hoboken. Some are really good while others are really great. If you are looking for old world Hoboken, back when it was an Italian immigrant neighborhood, then there are still traditional restaurants that are as good as ever. They are off of the beaten path from Washington Street, Hobokens main street, but ones that I would highly recommend. Hoboken also has numerous pubs/restaurants that are child friendly and are also a good stop.
If I can be of any more help just ask!!

Does anyone know if the Magic will go past/near the Statue of Liberty on the way to Canada?
Also, the inside of the The Statue of Liberty is closed for renovation. (but you DISers probably already knew that)
We decided on this last minute cruise since we couldnt wait till December to see Mickey again! We are going on the June 10th 5 day Canada Cruise.
We live in Baltimore so we are within a nice driving distance, but I mapped it out from here to NYC port and it said it was only 3 hours. The ship sails on a Sunday so how much time do you think we should allow for traffic in NYC? (we have an arrival time of 11:30-12:00)
Thanks for your help!
Does anyone local have anything to say about the Jersey Gardens Oulet Mall (I know not all the stores there are outlets)?
Thinking of taking the bus there as looks fairly easy, and its more the type of shops we're interested in than at Woodbury Common (plus a lot cheaper to get there!).
Whilst that does sound bad, I'm aware there is crime everywhere and try to be a realist about it (and I'm a cop so know more than most about crime!). If we all let crimes like that put us off doing things, none of us would go or do anything!
I do appreciate the warning post though, please don't think I don't. What is crime like inside the mall itself, as we would be sticking to in there and not wandering around anywhere else.
We are sailing the Sept 12th New England/Canada cruise on the Magic.
If anyone is flying from Ft. Lauderdale area to NYC like we are, we got a great rate on Jetblue yesterday of $110 per person each way.
Hotel rooms are still a little steep at this point, hoping they come down some.
We have a refundable room booked right now at The Marriott Marquis for $499 a night (OUCH). We stayed here back in 2010 during the 4th of July weekend and paid $300 for a Times Square view.
Its a beautiful hotel.
