Is there anywhere that tells you the approximate nutritional info (calories, fat, etc) of what is on the menus at WDW?
I would love to not eat too unhealthy on our next trip since we eat very healthy here at home so if that info is available anywhere I would love to look at it before I head down.
Thanks

Unfortunately, Disney does not release this information on the basis that they feel it is impossible to give an exact amount and they don't want to give you their "best guess." I guess all you can really do is stick with things that tend to be low in calories/fat, like grilled chicken or veggies, etc.

The only problem with that is you don't know what they marinated or cooking the chicken in (an example). It could be a pound of butter and now that lean meat is no longer healthy!
Thanks, I was hoping there was something!

I've found that the best thing to do is to ask the waiter. I can't eat dairy, so I always have to ask if there is cream or tons of butter in things.

It does not help with pre-planning but when I inquired about sodium content at Cosmic Ray's at MK, a CM brought me a binder with nutritional info about menu items, but it was very general in nature and seemed thrown together as in xerox copies of certain info.

There was no discussion, just here you go, here is the book.

It would be far preferable to have more specific info available AHEAD of time.

It does not seem that it would be difficult since so much of the food is the same stuff, especially CS restaurants.

I couldn't agree with you more! I'm trying not to worry too much about our upcoming trip and instead I've been coming up with a game plan...eat plain fruit whenever I can...get salads with dressing on the side...etc. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that most of the counter service/fast food is going to be bad for me. I need to watch sodium to manage blood pressure issues.

It sounds like, in general, Disney does a good job helping out those with strict dietary needs (vegetarian/vegan, lactose intolerance, etc.). I wish they would go the one step further and provide complete nutritional info.

I really need calorie counts, sodium, fat, etc. Which I can get from every fast food place, but not Disney??? They have "healthy" meals. I want the nutritional info!!!

Does the book have calorie & sodium counts---never knew they had these

While it would be much better to preplan--at least if they have available it will help......

I am glad I am not the only one with the concern! I really hope that Disney will get on the bandwagon and provide that info!

Just remember - no nutritional info from any fast food or chain restaurant is totally accurate - they are still only best guesstimates. I fsomeone leaves something in grease too long, or adds a little more dressing than should be added, or adds an extra handful or tablespoon of something, it's all thrown off. Or if the goods from the supplier are slightly off one shipment, that will throw things off too.

Eating out is just not a good idea anywhere, let alone Disney, if you watch nutritional info. Sodium contents are inflated everywhere because of preservatives in chicken, etc. Even healthy salads are not as healthy because of salt and fatty/sugary additives like nuts and dried fruit (too many of these can throw off diets or be allergens to some) - even with dressings on the side.

Unless you have an allergy or severe restriction, do the best you can, but still enjoy your trip.

If you are concerned about the fat/calorie content, order what you are familiar with and ask that they don't cook it in butter/oil, etc. Try to order the basic things off the menu that you can calculate approximate calories and fat on your own. I've been doing weight watchers for a while now and unfortunately some places just don't provide nutritional info (even big chains, but pretty much all non-chains as well).

Unfortunately we have allergy s, and with diabetics in the family and heart concerns, need to have a good guess on the sodium, etc.... We rarely go out to eat at home and want to try our best to allow everyone to eat at a few CS restaurants without totally over doing it. I also don't want to have to make all the meals on vacation. We are going to try our best.

I often forget about that point-all nutritional info is just that guesstimates- very good point!
