Any tips on places to nurse a baby in the parks? LO is still on demand feeding, so going to the mother room each time will not be an option.

You can nurse anywhere. They do have the Baby care centers which are great if you are nearby because they are air conditioned and usually have a comfortable place for you to sit (rockers or couches). Really, any park bench will do.

I would nurse anywhere... there is no rule that you have to go to a designated area. If you are bashful, bring along a nursing apron or a blanket to cover up. My the time I made it to my 3rd baby, I nursed anywhere and everywhere and most people had no idea.

As the PP said, you can nurse anywhere you want to. I just wanted to add that the mother rooms are centrally located so you are never that far from one (well...except maybe in Epcot).

If it were me, I would find an out of the way bench and use a cloth to cover me/my baby, but that is more because I would feel self-conscious. If you are comfortable without a cover then that is fine too. The far corners of some of the quick serve restaurants (Pecos Bill's, the ABC Commissary, etc.) would also be a good option if you want some privacy.

My wife has nursed two different babies at WDW. The baby care centers are nice (thanks to the air conditioning), but there are plenty of shady benches to use.

You can always purchase one of the nice nursing covers for use. These are lightweight, so the baby won't get too hot, but you still get privacy - even in a crowd.

My favorite place was the train at Magic Kingdom because it was never too crowded and we could go around if my son had fallen asleep while he nursed. I also thought the Beauty & the Beast show in HS wasn't too bad. I think I remember sitting in the garden behind England at Epcot while my older kids played in the hedge maze. Most times I just grabbed the closest bench - people are so busy getting to wherever they are going they are not worried about what people on the benches are doing.

Oh - and I never went to the baby centers - it was so much easier to just plop down wherever we were than worry about having to cart my other kids back to the special rooms or try to figure out where to meet up with DH when I was done.

There was a thread on this a few days ago so that might give you tons of other ideas!

Thanks! I'm new here and didn't check out the other forum, but I will now! I'm not overly modest, but I did have a negative nursing in public experience and am a bit paranoid now, especially in a place swarming with people. I just figured if I heard some good examples of places that people found comfortable in, I would try to utilize them. Can't wait to bring my new little guy there for his first time!

I've nursed pretty much everywhere you can imagine between my three children. All the previous suggestions have been great. Another I've used both at Disney and other places is to choose a "dark attraction" that lasts while, some of the movie style ones work best and find myself a quiet seat in the back. You didn't say how old your little one will be so this might not work once they get old enough that they are easily distracted. :) Don't let one rude person make you nervous, you are not only doing something great for your baby but you are also helping other breastfeeding mamas that might be worried feel better about the situation.

Oh my gosh! THIS is how I fell in love with Disney! DL first time with first baby. Found the Baby Care Center...was treated like a QUEEN! Several wonderful Mary Poppins's scurrying around to answer mine (and the many other babes and mums') beck and call. 12 years and several hundred thousand dollars later, we're still Disneyophiles.

I've nursed pretty much everywhere. If your LO is not easily distracted, I would suggest darker rides and shows! My LO would feed on demand as well... went to the Baby Center once... found it easier to simply feed her when she started to fuss wherever I was! I wore a cover and was very discrete. Shows where you can sit in the back are awesome... my favorites are:
MK: CoP, PoTC, TTA
EP: Ellen's Universe of Energy (42 minutes of air conditionning!)
AK: Tough to be a Bug, Nemo, FOTL
DHS: any of the shows!

The baby care centers are really wonderful. We still go in there to take breaks, even though I am not nursing anymore. They have everything you need from nursing rooms, high chairs, bottle steamers and microwaves. the first aid section will even keep your pump and milk cold through out the day if you need that.

We nursed everywhere, baby care centres if they were convenient, rides, standing in line using a sling, shows, etc.

My daughter and I don't care for covers but I was discrete and had a muslin blanket close if needed.

When we went last time, my youngest was 3 months. I wore him in a front carrier (pikkolo) and nursed all day, everywhere. Most of our family pics I am actually nursing. I don't know how to post pics, but if someone lets me know I can show u how discreet it is. I'm pretty sure he nursed the entire 4 days we were there. I sometimes took him out to nurse on rides or at restaurants, but mostly he was in there. I'm actually nursing him as I type this. He will be 13, almost 14 mon when we go again in Dec and I anticipate he will do a lot of his nursing in the carrier again. Universe of energy was probably my favorite ride to nurse on bc of how long it is.

I've nursed all my kids there, too (well except for the newbie). I generally just looked for a quite bench that was out of the way. That way there was less distraction for baby and it was more relaxing for me. Never have used a baby care center.

I loooooved the animal kingdom baby care center. If your child likes to do acrobatics like mine did while nursing, and in turn flashing everyone within a 10 mile radius no matter what kind of cover up I tried, this care center is the best. There are several private rooms with a rocker and changing table. It was heaven...didn't have to fight her at all. :)

Good luck!
