Argh! We faxed in all our papers on 5/5. GMAC couldn't get in touch with the sellers until 5/12. As of yesterday, it still hadn't been sent to Disney. :confused3 *sigh*

Chip/Ernie/Robbie...if you think this causes angst I'd suggest a quick call to the doctor for some blood pressure meds...maybe some "mother's little helpers" instead! :3dglasses

If not, here's some pixiedust:

Meanwhile, I sent in a deposit yesterday on my second attempt to purchase a listing through GMAC. The sellers of the first property I offered on there never called the agent back; and can you believe the sellers on this second property also seem to be impossible to contact! (Add in the two-week absence of the sellers on my contract waiting to close, and I am beginning to feel a little snakebit. I thought waiting for ROFR was supposed to be the hardest part.)

If the sellers on this second contract can be found, waiting for ROFR will be a little tense. Very doubtful it would pass, even though I am offering well above asking price. (Seemed to be priced to ensure a quick repurchase through ROFR.)

Why are people so slow to respond. My people did respond yesterday so I am lucky. I am sure my contract will not pass I did not offer above asking, I need more points without debt so I am rolling the dice. Grandbuddy we will be there together. I said to myself that I can not let myself get too involved since I know it will ROFR, but I am already excited for my new contract.. now do I go back and offer more..:scared:

QOD!! I got one!!

If DVC had a contest and you won.....You get to decide where the next
DVC resort goes. Where would it be!?

Hmmm. I've stumped myself. I will have to think about it and get back to you!;)

Ok, I'll be the 1st to jump in on this one. If we're talking about another DVC on Disney property I'd have to say I'd love to see one at the Polyensian.

Offsite I'd love :lovestruc :lovestruc to see one in Colorado anywhere near the Rockies. Colorado is a close tie to the World for my favorite places to vacation. I could definitely see Mickey on some skis. :rotfl:

I love the Colorado concept, DVC Skiing sounds like a great option to me. On sight, I like the Poly or the GF.

Congrats to everyone doing well today - here's hoping for Laxmom, GB and all of you who have been on hold at various stages. :wizard:

HR - I saw Mickeywho? on the passed ROFR list on 5/13, if it is the same contract, it passed.

You know you wouldn't have this problem if you stopped dealing with sellers that are Auburn Fans!

Wow - I was blessed with the sellers of my contract! :worship: The broker got in touch with them within a couple of hours of my making an offer, they returned the signed agreement before I did, and they also had their notarized contracts signed and returned within 2 days for the closing!!! I'm feeling really lucking after hearing about the other stories - I mean, why list it for sale if you're not going to respond on it?!?!?

Here's more pixie dust for everyone! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Now, for my first trip - I think I'm going to try and go down to DL for the DVC event. Unfortunately the member receptions are all booked up for the nights I was planning on being down there. I registered for the new night they added, but now I don't think I'll be able to make that work. I'm hoping that people registered on the hope they could attend and that some will end up cancelling for either Sunday or Monday, or maybe switching to Friday to be at the first night. My guide said she has people flying in from Canada for the Expo that will also be going on - there's supposed to be some terrific incentives! Will I come back with more points or not? :dance3: She also said they would be doing group tours of the GCV models. :yay: :yay:

Hey Laurie, I saw on another thread that the other identical contract passed & was surprised not to see your name there too. Strange. :confused3 Well, at least you know there's a very good chance yours will too. Hope you hear something today. pixiedust: pixiedust: I'm right there with you in the waiting impatiently category. :rolleyes1

There were THREE identical contracts - all AKV, all 135 points, all full 07 and 08 points and all for the same price. We were nervous about learning of this and called our rep, and she assured us they were all legit. The other two were submitted for ROFR shortly before ours, and those two passed. I would have to think that would mean ours is good too, but I refuse to believe that until I hear back from our rep. So, in the meantime, here we sit!!! popcorn:: :surfweb: popcorn::

Good luck with yours!

Hey - even Auburn fans want their money, when they sell something!

The last couple of hours have been pretty productive. Brenda at the closing company e-mailed me:

We received the seller's documents, so as soon as we receive the updates
from Disney to close their account we will close.

You will receive an email when your closing occurs.
 :yay:

Then Rachel at GMAC sent me details of yet a third contract, but one on which she knew she could immediately contact the sellers (the contract had just been listed). So, as of right now I have made an offer which has been verbally accepted on another contract.

150 points, SSR, December UY - 150 '06 points banked; '07 points banked into '08, so 300 '08 points. Buyer pays closing costs, mfs for all 150 current year points, and GMAC fee.

So, we're officially starting again. :rolleyes1 If the mouse exercises ROFR, I'll be looking for another one in a few weeks.:surfweb:

So, I was working on a project and went to Webster's Dictionary for the definition of the word 'masochist.' I was surprised when the definition read, "see Grandbuddy." :rotfl2:

Congrats on the first and good luck on the third (fourth?, fifth?, I've lost count!). :thumbsup2

I think. (I also think you're right. But this is how it goes when you need a pretty good pile of points to take care of three family units...and you don't want to have all your points in one contract, for estate purposes.)

...and you're doing it the smart way. I'm amazed at what you're willing to do for the family! Hopefully someday we'll be able to do the same for ours.

Grandbuddy or anyone else that's use GMAC, just curious how you get all your info on the GMAC contracts. Do you always email or do you have someone you work with directly now that calls you? I wish they listed their resales like some of the other companies. You can't get any info on the contract from the web other than how many pts & how much $. It would be so much better if they at least told you the UY & pts. available. I've emailed them in the past on different contracts & have waited forever for them to get back to me. Sometimes they don't even respond at all. :confused3

Congratulations on your pending closing Jerry! And good luck on the new contract - it sounds like an awesome one!!! :yay:

Well, I'm more of a consternation to some folks! :rotfl:

You have to call them to get those details - and that is how they plan it! They do stay busy at times, and sometimes it's hard to get through. One trick I've learned is to always hit the "0" at the prompt, rather than waiting for the next available agent to pick up. Just about every time I wait, I get no one. Rachel is the agent I'm working with now (Carolyn went on vacation), and I have corresponded with her mostly by e-mail, since explaining to her what I needed, by phone. She has been very good about getting back to me in a timely manner.

Since learning I am ready for (and close to) closing, I have finally added my home resort to my signature. It's beginning to feel like it really is my home resort!

MKM, I love it when the sibblings start cheering for the brother or sister they normally fight with!!! Collegeman let a priceless cheer go for Laxlad Tues. He yelled that he was a sexy beast! OMG! Of course, everyone laughed. And Laxlad got even after the game.

That it frickin' hilarious!!!!!:lmao: :rotfl2:

I think we are on a roll!!! I just checked our bank account to see if DH's check went in and we had extra money in our balance. When I looked into the transactions, our tax stimulus check is there. I didn't expect it until July!! Whoo hooo! What timing with a closing coming up!!:woohoo:

We got ours too!!

Grandbuddy, Congrats! It's so nice to be close to the end ( and in my experience, I didn't stress as much with the add on- I just wanted to get in..:yay: )

I have come thiiiis close to calling Bernard today...haven't done it yet, though. I'd really like to have a picture of BWV and AKL though. :rolleyes1

Congrats on almost being there :dance3: Good luck with your other contractor contracts:confused3
Now remember a few months ago and everyone thought I was a little crazy for buying 2 contracts. Looks like the craziness spread, must be a DVC disease :lmao:

I was committed to two contracts before I ever bought the first one. I'd much rather leave my kids something they can each enjoy (their own separate contracts), than something for them to be frustrated over (trying to coordinate around each other's plans on a shared contract).
