Just wanted to post this somewhere because nobody understands, lol.

We have 2 contracts, and after much discussion we have decided to sell the smaller of the contracts.

We have begun traveling to different destinations besides Disney and it seems silly to have over 300 points for just the two of us.

It’s bittersweet because the contracts were purchased when my Mom was still alive. We will still have 200 points, so plenty to still enjoy but it’s still been emotional.

Anyway, send good vibes that our contract will sell quickly and for a good price!

ETA: We went through DVC resale market and our SSR contract had an offer that we accepted two days after it was listed. They have been great to work with so far!

ETA 7/17: Contract submitted to ROFR

Rejoice. You just cut your dues by a third and can put that towards your future vacations too!

Congrats on selling, did the sale go through or did the contract get taken by ROFR?

Another option instead of selling would be to rent your points, either all or some of them. That way should you decide to go to WDW again or get grand children you still have all of your points.

Curious, aren't we allowed to ask how the sale went in private messages?

We don’t want people to PM people who ask general questions on the boards about potentially selling and we ask posters to report.

The reason is to prevent fraud from happening as well as the fact is that we don’t allow people to use the boards as For Sale.

In terms of reaching out to someone else to see if they want to share info about their own experience, it’s not prohibited per se, but be aware that some posters may see that as intrusive.

The sale went through- it was a really smooth process from start to finish.

We were looking to pay off some debt and lower monthly bills- this did both of those things (the sale proceeds and maintenance fees) and we still have a 200 point contract!

We are childless millennials so it’s just us traveling 😎

It might not seem like a ton, but $83/month is about $1000/year!

Very grateful for all the trips we’ve taken, the points we rented to take trips elsewhere, and the ability to sell for a fair price after almost 20 years of ownership.
