I put in for, basically my dream job or at least one of only a few jobs that I would consider my dream job and tonight I got it! :cloud9: :cool1::cloud9:  :cloud9: :cool1: :cloud9:  .

Happy for you Ed!

Goodmorning all..........I think it has been a couple of days since I have posted..lots going on around here! Yesterday I spent the day with DH in his job interview (they were very nice), but I felt like I had been ran over by a mac truck and decided I would rather have dental work done then do that again. It was 6 1/2 hours long. Ok it was not that bad it was really the heat.... 103 degrees and we had to walk back and forth between buildings (miserable)! I really wish Disney had a healthcare system. Then my DH and myself could work for them!

LM-what thread is Aunt E on...I could not find it either.

Happy day everyone!princess:

Congrats Holiday Road! That is fantastic news.

Well, another week come and gone and I am still estoppelating. 20 days and counting.
Have a good weekend everyone- hope Monday brings some good news to those who are waiting!

It's not even for me. My wife and I decided to book my parents for a few nights at BWV for their anniversary. They go to Florida every year in the winter, about 3 hours from "Home" so this year they are going down for the month of March so I booked them mid week in studio, it's just the two of them so a studio will be fine. Since we got back from the April trip my mom has been mad that she got sick for a couple of days and missed EPCOT. So they already have the park tickets and now they have a place to stay and I think a pretty nice place at that and how can you beat the location for a short trip just to see EPCOT. Mom's thrilled and it's nice to be able to do this for them. Of course I can't believe someone else is going to use my points before I am!!

Hey, look! I can still post and haven't been banned. Whew! She is not worth not being able to communicate with my buds.;)

Uncle Fester...that's a good one!!:lmao: :lmao: We could call him Cousin Eddie!

EASY!!! Although I know it's appropriate and staying with the "Vacation" theme but I'm not so sure if I would be real fond of people calling jerk-faces Eddie. Can you say jerk-faces? What about freakin jerk-faces. I now know, thanks to you, that freakin is O.K. but lets see...

I was thinking of it as more of an idiot than a jerk face. We can come up with a good one, I'm sure.

It is just beyond me why people insist on being so argumentative. Aren't we here to help each other and share information? I must have misunderstood the mission here. It seems as if some people just get off on being rude and obnoxious. It's a shame because there are people who have a lot of knowledge that would be valuable to others if you didn't have to wade through the crap to get to the point!

Ok, I'm done now and looking for my pills once again......;)

Hey what was the boss's name than enrollled Clark in the jelly of the month club? You know Bill Murray's brother played him.

Not fond of name calling...no subtlety, and brings the conversation down to a level where we don't wish to be, I'm thinking.

And HR, out of deference to you, I agree we shouldn't use Ed or Eddie to designate anyone who is sometimes disagreeable. I think your gift to your parents is wonderful. I am thinking one of my sons and their family will likely be the first to use any points we will have to use this calendar year. I just can't make any plans that will tie me up, right now. Of course, the same issues that would affect my plans could also interfere with any planned family travel.

Some of the posters, I'm sure, would say that I am the one who became argumentative (but in such a polite way). I don't know if others, beside us, have noticed the pattern of negative and condescending comments I was reacting to. I'm certain each person has a right to prefer different types of accommodations. Don't see the point, though, in continually dissing (though it is the DisBoards) Disney accommodations, and noting how often you have enjoyed more luxurious stays...elsewhere...LOL. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Oooo! I forgot, Ed. Sorry. Of course you are excluded! I wouldn't name call in a conversation but it sure helps to give them a name that makes it so we can all know who is being a "pill", since it leads to me looking for mine!;)

Grandbuddy, been there done that. We went thru a spell where we bought travel insurance when we did plan something. How is your Mom doing with Hospice?

DMIL has a heart condition. She is physically much older than 74. She can't walk without help or a walker and came complete with a duffle bag full of meds packed by the nursing home staff. She wore us out. Everything took so much effort because of the needed assistance. We honestly thought that we were going to lose her when her husband passed.

Hats off to those who work with the elderly, sick or disabled. It wore us out physically and emotionally and she was only here for 5 days. At least she got to see Laxlad play and we got time together.

I thought you handled it all beautifully, Grandbuddy. And tactfully, I might add. I think there are people who post looking for a fight and get gleeful when they get it. Sad little people that they are.

Not sure why Mr. crankypants decided he needed to jump in. As I stated, I felt bad for the op who simply asked for a comparason between the WDW resorts and HHI. I guess you must wear your laxgear to post on the disboards at least that is the reputation on other boards. It appears well deserved by some. Kept me off these boards for a very long time- the reputation, I mean.

Okay...still waiting to close. I feel like this has been the L-O-N-G-E-S-T process ever!!! I called Rachel, who has been super nice, and it will be any day now. I paid part by credit card (gotta earn those $$$ back!) and they had to cut a check to send to the seller. Uhhhhgggg. :headache:

Just remember...if you were a turkey dust spreader at the tilt-a-whirl, you might be a miserable person, too! :lmao: Are those the funniest movies ever or what??? Seriously, though, what is wrong with people? :confused3

Have a WONDERFUL weekend, everyone!!! :grouphug:

I was thinking about paying with CC for the points on our contract and then paying the cc off. Is that what is holding things up?

"Mr. Crankypants" works.:rotfl:

Then Mr. Crankypants it is! Glad we were both able to laugh at this one!! That does give it entertainment value, I guess.;)

Yes. I sent everything on 4/30 (paid $4K over the phone and mailed the rest in via certified check). GMAC had to wait for the $4K to post, be deposited into their account, submit a request to their accounting dept to process a manual check, and then FedEx it to the closing agency.

I just checked the timing of our last two contracts, and it took 15 days total to close. I guess I'm sitting at 17, which isn't that far off. It just SEEMS longer. You know how that goes!!! I must have been too busy last time to pay attention! :goodvibes

The characters names was "Frank Shirley" played by Brian Doyle-Murray

Sorry for bringing down this thread a level or two, but be honest I was half joking with "jerk-face" thing I haven't called anyone that since elementary school and my 9 year old daughter called my son that today during an argument, to which she was made to apologize so I guess I should too, so sorry if I offended anyone with the jerk-face thing.

When my kids were little, I would call them NuNu-face, since I had made it up, and it had absolutely no meaning. It stuck, and we still use that term in our family - mostly as an affectionate term, when someone has been silly. (Sorry if I came across as a Mr. Crankypants!)

Not at all, your right, we should remain civil and I can see how that could be taken, very easily, in a manner unintended.
