Any updates on this? Planning a last minute trip, off-site, Memorial day week and have not been there to use FP+ yet!
The only thing the negatives told us is that everything was ruined, we are cancelling our trips, or no one should go to disney any more. The people who were positive about the situation are the ones who were confident that it would be remedied as roll out occurred.
Your "told you so" would have to involve FPP remaining as it was in testing.
If you had said, after roll out was complete, that if we complain enough they will make it better, then you would have some credit.
The people who were optomistic that it would become better are the ones who "told you so"

Complete rubbish my son.
Had 100% of customers (and yeah that's what we are) smiled and said "thank you that is perfect" Disney would NOT have added offsite guests to reservations and would have kept it as a perk.. Disney reacted to customer dissatisfaction just like every other corp.
Don't delude yourself into believing Dis is some how your buddy or has the "Best" interests of it's fans in mind...
Consider this..
Over the last 10 years Dis has increased price 100% in real inflation adusted dollars. It currently costs twice as much to enter for the day than the average price over the last 20 to 30 years...
Remember those are inflation adjusted dollars, and today you are paying 100% more than almost any point in the history of Dis...
~Disney has never been perfect -- not ever. The old fp wasn't perfect either -- most fp users found it to be too restrictive and too much of a pedestrian effort just to experience a ride -- and *this* is what prompted the majority of fp users to run up and down all morning from machine to machine, collecting fp's until they all ran out around 10AM -- and then hoard the fp's to use later at night. If the fp system was so perfect --there would not have been such a need and desire to use them outside of the return window.Complete rubbish my son.

~Very well said, Tom Wazeem! Huge backlash?!? That's hilarious -- the parks have never been more full -- they're literally bursting at the seam!!!You are making some huge assumptions. I am not sure this change wasn't planned from the beginning. I am not sure there was a huge "backlash." People who gave input to Disney are in no one's view "bad guys." Anti FP+ and Pro FP+ alike all support the idea of giving input to Disney whenever possible. In fact it was often encouraged by both "sides."
You are right that posting here "whining and complaining" doesn't do a thing. Disney does listen to input. But I still think this was part of the plan.
~Oh, beer dave -- you are so insightful & I couldn't agree more! The only thing the negatives told us is that everything was ruined, we are cancelling our trips, or no one should go to disney any more. The people who were positive about the situation are the ones who were confident that it would be remedied as roll out occurred.

~I just came across two, almost identical trip reports from posters that have already mastered the new FP+ system -- it is truly astonishing. Both of them were kind enough to share their findings in detail here.
--->~I'm officially a convert to FP+~<---

~This pretty much shuts down any argument against FP+. Have a magical day!!!![]()
FP+ cannot be termed anything other than a success. Even among the tough crowd her at DIS, there are a huge number of happy converts.
Check this very interesting article from a travel industry magazine website, Travel Weekly. Emphasis below is mine. 3/4 of resort guests and 1/4 of day guests are using MM+ and "pre-engaging" as they call it. That is; getting into Disney's system before they arrive to make plans and reservations. Those are pretty good numbers for something so new and unfamiliar:
http://www.travelweekly.com/North-A...e-encouraging-as-Q2-net-income-up-27-percent/
Go to the article page and click on the advert for IBEROSTAR Playa Mita on the right. If nothing else it is a really cool pic and it is how the writer of this article and the website make a living. It takes 5 or 6 seconds. We enjoy lots of articles posted here on DIS, we should "pay" for their use.
Oh, I did work in a Frozen reference to this thread, too!
Disney says MyMagic+ use 'encouraging' as Q2 net income up 27%
By Michelle Baran
Walt Disney World is already seeing changes in guest behavior as it continues to roll out the MyMagic+ program, which was made available to all park guests last month, Disney executives said during the company's second-quarter earnings call on Tuesday.
"Guest adoption of our MyMagic+ previsit planning tools is encouraging," Disney CFO Jay Rasulo said during Tuesday's call. "Roughly three-quarters of our resort guests are using them to plan their visit. Just one month after making pre-arrival planning of FastPass+ available to our day guests, more than 25% of them are pre-engaging with us."
Rasulo added that guests who preplan tend to spend more time at in the parks. Additionally, the new technology is enabling Disney World to accommodate more guests at the parks.
"When guests are better distributed around the park, we can often allow more in," Rasulo said. "I don't want to get into the specific numbers; it is in the thousands."
Disney's parks and resorts segment saw revenue increase 8%, to $3.6 billion, and segment operating income increased 19%, to $457 million, for the fiscal quarter ended March 29.
The higher operating income was driven by increased guest spending at Walt Disney World, higher attendance at the Disneyland Resort in California and growth in hotel occupancy at both resorts, all of which offset the costs of implementing the high-tech MyMagic+ system.
Disney reported record earnings for the second quarter. Revenue for the quarter increased 10%, to $11.65 billion, from $10.55 billion for the same year-ago period. Net income rose 27%, to $1.9 billion, from $1.5 billion.
Among the most impressive results of Disney's earnings performance was the more than quadrupling of segment operating income in the company's studio entertainment division to $475 million from $118 million, driven in large part by the success of "Frozen" and "Thor: The Dark World."
"The unprecedented global success of Disney Animation's phenomenal 'Frozen' continues, and it's now the world's highest-grossing animated film of all time," said Disney CEO Bob Iger.
You guys are great. I need to say nothing.
Except don't ever call me son.

~LOL. I'm sure it was just a mistake. The "s" key is right next to the "d" key. I'm sure the OP was aiming to hit "d" for "the don" and hit s by mistake -- spare him, just this once. You guys are great. I need to say nothing.

~LOL. This is just too funny. I have never heard of this sitcom. Thank you Tom Wazeem for making me feel so young! There was a comedian that got attention in the late 70's. He did this whole routine about his name. The character was Raymond J. Johnson Jr. and he did NOT like to be called Mr. Johnson. Someone would say, "Hey Mr. Johnson", and he would go into his routine: "You can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay, or you can call me Ray Jay, or you can call me RJ, or..."
It's funny. I don't remember him ever being that big, but it was one of those cultural moments. He was in a couple of adds and everyone knew that routine who was around in the late 70's.
You kids just missed out I guess.![]()
~Yay! That's fabulous! Thanks so much for the update! We found the new additions to FP+ worked very well !
~LOL. Thank you awilliams4, I could not agree more. You have quite a gift with words.Bull. You don't have a clue what you are talking about. This was going to be rolled out once all the testing/coding was done all along. This was rolled out as it was by design and practicality. The original focus was resort guests. Once enough testing and tweaks were in place, their additional coding to support non-guests was applied and introduced.
Sure. Disney had every intent all along to hire all kinds of new CMs to permanently man kiosks for the foreseeable future for all the non-resort guests. Yep, that is it.
