Nudity in Gym Locker Rooms.

Here is my thing--I would get out of the pool for water aerobics. Go to my locker to get my shower stuff, whereas a lot of these women would go straight to the shower. Do my shower. I have long thick hair so it takes awhile to get all that chlorine out. Get done, spin dry my suit, go to my locker. Finish drying off and get dressed. Brush out my hair. Go the bathroom. Stop at the sink and do my face lotion. Go back to locker and get my blow dryer. Blow dry my hair for awhile. (Again, long thick hair.) Etc.This whole process usually would take about 30 min and during this time there were two different women who were nude the whole time. They were always done from the shower before me and always still nude--no towel around them or anything when I left.:hippie:

That is just weird and exhibitionistic.

how? why?

In excess of 30 minutes? What is the point? If someone with long, thick hair and shower, dress, dry her hair, etc, etc. What are they doing sitting around naked? Even if they are "air drying", they should be dry by then.

Perhaps they are comfortable in he nude. That is far from making them weird or exhibitionists.

This is what I thought as well. I don´t mind being nude infront of anyone at the gym, pool, etc. That doesn´t mean I get a kick out of it either. I honestly just don´t think very much about it.

Question is, would a straight female feel uncomfortable changing around lesbians? Knowing that you might be "checked out" while changing?

Honestly, I don't care that much if a lesbian checks me out (if anyone was outright gawking, I might mind, but it still wouldn't bother me as much as a man). My reasons are 1. They have the same bits and pieces as me, and 2. I feel more threatened by men, so I wouldn't want them to see me naked. If a girl made comments or unwanted physical advances I could probably easily defend myself. If a man did the same thing, I would probably have a losing fight on my hands.

Isn't the function of a locker room supposed to be to shower, change, and leave? It isn't meant to be a hang-out for nudists. I have no problem getting naked in front of strangers in locker room, or having strangers get naked in front of me, but c'mon, let's get real. I know people who are quite comfortable taking a poop with the bathroom door open, but that doesn't make it couth.

That would depend on the locker room. Depending on the club they may be set up to be more comfortable than the standard locker and benches. Beside, it still comes back to the question, if you are just there for a quick change, how do you know these people are lounging around for extended periods of time.

So its not OK for a father to bring his daughter in to the men's locker room, but bringing a boy in a women's locker room is acceptable? :confused3

Amazing how uptight people can be...

You know there is a world of difference in nudity (which is what is happening in these locker rooms) and sexuality..

The men's locker room, according to DH who uses it, does not afford the same level of 'privacy opportunities" that the ladies' locker room does. That is one consideration. The men that use the locker room do not have the opportunity to dress behind a curtain. Girls do not need to be exposed to nude strangers (men) nor do men, who have limited alternatives, need to be exposed to little girls. Thirdly, there is a double standard. That will not change.

Just a note to all of the guys who are fantasyzing about the nude chicks runnign around in the locker rooms: at my old gym, it was never the hot, young, fit college girls who took the time to "let their skin breathe" - it was always dumpy, flabby, middle age women who neglect to "trim the hedges" and are not exactly the stuff of male fantasy (but more power to them for working out!).

I can't stand the thought of them plopping their bottoms down on a bare bench - that makes my skin crawl. If they want to parade around nude, I don't really care. I'm seriously not interested in seeing that, so I won't be looking.

My dad told me about some guy at his old gym who would spend hours in the men's locker room, walking around naked, leering at the young, fit guys, and talking to them at the water fountain while allowing his p**** to touch the fountain. He never got a drink in the men's locker room, and warned the staff about him on more than one occasion.

That's what home is for. Additionally, it does not seem to be "the culture" of our particular gym. It is not the "norm". Most women take advantage of the opportunity for privacy. Our gym actually has a dress code.

Sadly, some people don´t seem to know that. Seeing people write about 7 year olds as sexually aroused beings in locker rooms makes me mad.

I was thinking of you all this morning. I actually noticed what people did and nobody really is an exhibitionist-sure we're all naked for short periods in the shower and while we're dressing but nobody's "strutting around".

However, I do get pretty skiiveed out by the 50 something guy who is still wearing the bikini Speedo swimsuit that he wore when he was on his HS swim team. Dude-that was 30 pounds and 30 years ago--buy a new one!!!! We're about ready to take up a collection....

I feel that if your child is young enough to be accompanying you into the locker room, seeing a naked lady is not going to do him any harm.

That is the best line I have read on this thread. :rotfl2:

Obviously not everyone shares that opinion.

In the locker room?

Showering and changing when you need to get rid of chemicals or make yourself un-stinky is what locker rooms are for. Hanging out nekkid because it makes you comfortable is what home and nudist colonies are for.

If being nekkid around other people is what makes you happy, go home. If there isn't anyone there, go to a nudie place. If you don't have a nudie place near you, go to a bar and pick up a guy (it isn't hard, for God's sake.) You don't need a locker room to be comfortable - all you need is your nekkidness and another person. Spare the rest of the locker room people from your nekkid hobby.

Is there a time limit on changing in a locker room?
