Nowhere to go.

For those who have suggested doing all sorts of malicious things to the body (not those suggesting cremation), do you get upset when you see videos of US soldiers' bodies being desecrated in foreign lands?

You cannot seriously be comparing our soldiers to terrorist. That is disgusting and insulting to our troops.

He is clearly an enemy of the state and while I do not condone desecrating his corpse, I don't think we need to worry about honoring his religious beliefs.

None Of the things you are mentioning represent what this city is about. You said you weren't trying to portray Worcester in a negative way but you continue to do so. If its so bad, there are other places to live.

Oy. I'm making light of the utter ridiculous turn this thread has taken whereby you're accusing me of talking negatively about the city simply because I think the protesters are stupid. There are good things and bad things in every place. Just mentioning them does not harm a place. I never said the city was bad, nor does that even remotely represent how I feel about a city in which my ancestors have building named after them. So no, I don't think I'll be moving any time soon. Thanks very much.

I said the people behaving like idiots were being just that, idiots, and that they do not represent what the city is about, unfortunately theirs are the only voices being heard and I'm happy to tell people that. But I am not about to just sweep the conversation under the carpet because it makes you uncomfortable.

The poster was not doing that. What the poster I think is trying to point out is that we (the US) find acts of soliders desecrating bodies of the enemy dishonorable, so why would we think it is ok in this situation.

Honoring his religious beliefs is showing respect for the Muslim religion, not him. Not honoring the Muslim beliefs IMHO is a total disregard of the Muslim community.

Their voices are being heard because people like you are bringing attention to them. Seriously this "protest" is not the big deal its being made out to be. You make it sound like their is rioting in the streets. There was absolutely nobody there earlier today.

it doesn't make me uncomfortable. I just think its stupid.

You are talking negatively about the city, which is why I said that. Your ancestors having building named after them doesn't change the negativity in your posts nor does it impress me.

Tell me where I said that?

I didn't write news articles about them. I didn't put them on the tv. I wanted them to go home. I haven't been down there today so if you say they're gone today, then good. I'm happy. We won't hear anything more.

But really, your picking on this issue is tiresome.

If the guy was worried about honoring his religion, then he would not be killing people in the name of his religion. He is not worried about it, neither am I. Obviously his religious community is not worried about it either. So is he Muslim, full of peace and light, or is he an extremist that is not an example of his religion. You cannot have it both ways. :teacher:

You cannot compare the deaths of our troops to this guy. It is not apples to apples and I personally find it very offensive. I would really like someone to point out a story where civilian Americans, who claim to be Christians extremists, have plotted and/or killed civilians in other nations. Then let's see how their bodies were dealt with. Until then, you have no comparisons.

People aren't being peaceful, that's the problem. They're threatening to dig up the body if it's buried in the city.

This is the type of thing I'm talking about. The reality is there were a handful of people with nothing better to do than make a stink. This makes it seem like so much more than that.

Once again, I didn't make the comparison.

Well, perhaps in your many visits to the dunks down there you didn't notice that there were people holding signs with images of the dead body, chanting, waving flags. They were threatening to dig up the body. Perhaps you didn't notice Breault out there holding court like the lunatic he is, holding a press conference no less. Perhaps you missed where the cops were out there 24 hours a day since the body arrived. They were making a nuisance. They were escalating the problem.

The jump from nuisance to riot is all in your own mind.

I really have no idea why you decided to turn this thread into this ridiculous debate.

The reason i decided to post was because of the article linked that said Worcester's people were embarrassing themselves. Posters seemed to agree with it. That coupled with posts like yours about how much trouble protesters are causing and I think people really have the wrong idea about what is really going on here.

Well, perhaps you don't think that protesters outside a funeral home protesting a dead body is embarrassing.

But I do.

Then what was your point soccerdad?

That generally speaking, civilized people don't desecrate human corpses regardless of who they are.

Of course, this whole line of conversation is a moot point. Once the uncle claimed the body, I assume that eliminated the option of anyone cremating (or dismembering) the body.

Pretty sure she is as crazy his momma!

US Air Force (USAF) veteran Julie Frein said she is willing to give up her burial plot at Arlington National Cemetery to Tamerlan Tsarnaev - the deceased Boston bombing suspect.

The Anne Arundel County woman told Fox45 she feels the terrorist suspect should be able to be laid to rest and just wants it to all be over.

"I feel sympathy for [his family] in that as long as this issue is open, they can't have closure," Frein told Fox45's Joy Lepola. When asked how she thought Americans would react to the suspect being buried in a national cemetery, Frein replied, "Well the country would just have to get over that, wouldn't they? Because nobody, nobody deserves to rot above ground."

Frein has already called the funeral home in Massachusetts where Tsarnaev's body is currently stored and is in the process of contacting the Office of Veteran Affairs to see if she will be able to offer up her plot.

Frein served in the USAF for two years. Her husband served in the US Navy for 20 years.

That's just silly. https://gibill.custhelp.com/app/ans...in-va-national-cemeteries---who-may-qualify?#

Criminal Charges
In many cases, persons who've committed capital crimes can't be buried in a national cemetery.

VA's rules even cover some cases where the person died before being formally charged with
the crime.

Capital crime cases must be reviewed by the National Cemetery Administration to determine eligibility.

And the more you respond tit for tat, the longer and more drawn out this argument becomes, thus prolonging the attention this matter is getting that you say you want to stop. Counterproductive?
