The funeral home handling the body of the Boston Marathon bomber cannot find a cemetery willing to take the body. I see why. It would probably cause a lot of vandalism and attract a lot of negative attention. So what to do? Cremate him? Send him out of the country? Who will pay? How could you make his family pay for it? Just seems like there is no good solution. It doesn't seem fair to bury him near the victims.

They should figure out a way to get his body back to his parents in Russia.

Forgive me for not following the story enough to know everything going on but why is his estranged uncle the one stepping up to the plate to bury him instead of his wife, mother or father? He said at the first interview he didn't want him to have anything to do with his family and they hadn't associated in many years but now he has to figure out burial arrangements.

His mother has an outstanding warrant for 1600 worth of shoplifting at a department store so if she comes here she will be arrested. No idea why his dad or wife are not taking care of it. I do think the body should go back to his country but I don't think the taxpayers should pay for it. I think that family has used enough resources already.

I'm voting for a galvanized garbage can and a C.O.D one-way ticket back to Nowherestan or whatever the trash heap he came from. He's probably a national hero there....let them take care of it.

Is there not a prison cemetary somewhere that could handle this?

Surely, there are places others guilty of heinous crimes are buried discretely.

interesting. I've never thought about what to do with criminals before..what did they do with Ted Bundy?

I vote for cutting its head off and sticking it on the top of Old Ironsides main mast. The rest could swim with the fishes.

Is there a religous reason the family dosen't just have him cremated?

I have heard that Muslims do not believe in cremation. But I could be wrong

OMG! L......O......L!!! :rotfl:

The Newtown shooter was buried at an undisclosed location to avoid this problem. Although cemeteries have the right to refuse someone be buried there. The funeral home he's at has already had a lot of negative public attention for handling his body and I would figure they want him out of there as soon as possible. Since last I heard his mother stated she had talked with him about his beliefs and the man they claim converted him to be a radical and she found that man to be funny and a nice person, she can take care of the body. If he hated this country so much he doesn't deserve to decompose in our soil. Either toss him out to sea, find a desert and let the buzzards take care of him, or ship him back to Russia. I really don't care. From what I understand in most cases like this the family does not claim the body and therefore the body is buried in an unknown location in a potter's field.

The uncle stated in the article that for religious reasons they must (should?) be buried.

Islamic custom is to bury the body whole, typically wrapped in a shroud but no casket. The body is to face Mecca. Cremation is not allowed. Graves are usually unadorned or have a very simple grave marking, no elaborate headstones or anything like that.

This is what I recall from a History of Islam class I took in college many moons ago.

The uncle stated in the article that for religious reasons they must (should?) be buried.

I also believe they are supposed to be buried within 48 after their death. So they've already broken one main burial rule of the religion, what's another? Light him up.

I'm also pretty sure the victims probably had some sort of religious belief that did not allow for them to be blown up. He wasn't very respectful of that. Put him in a pine box in a wooden canoe and point it towards Russia and give it a shove.

Oh, boo hoo hoo. As I see it the family has two choices: Cremate the body and FedEx it to his Mama or tell his dad to get his butt over here and collect what's left of him and take it back to Russia. The U.S. taxpayers should NOT be burdened with the cost of taking care of this dead waste of space. And I sure as heck don't want him buried next to my granny!

That's correct. Muslims do not cremate.

I think they should bury him at sea like they did with Bin Laden.
