I just got off the phone with DH, and we're going to go ahead and go in January!!! And we're going to stay an extra night and add another park day!!!! I'm so excited!!! But now I have to wait for the 2007 packages to come out, plan a new itinerary, find more places to eat, and change my siggy! Oh what fun!

After reading the schedule for December, I've been less than thrilled. Since we get out of school on or around the 12th, and Holiday Season starts on the 20th of December, our dates were going to be December 14-20. But I just can't seem to work out a good schedule for us for that week. There is no AM EMH for Magic Kingdom while we're there (we're arriving on the 14th and don't want to do a park that day.), and there are MVMCP 4 out of our 5 available park days (I really don't want to go to a park on a Saturday -- thanks to you guys :) , and we don't really want to do MVMCP). I've been thinking seriously about switching to January. I've been reading the boards and everyone says it isn't crowded, good weather, etc. Plus, we could stay an extra night since we won't be paying a Holiday rate our last night. :rolleyes1 I'm really getting excited about the prospect of a January trip, but I really wanted to see the Christmas decorations. Trust me, I'm really excited to be going at all, and I'm so thankful that we can go. BUT... I am the Disneyholic of the family, and I must plan the perfect trip -- or as close to perfect as I can get. DH doesn't care -- as long as we get the Dining Plan again. I know we could always go at Christmas next year. What do you guys think? Would you change your dates? I'm 100% sure that you guys will have some great suggestions! I can't wait to hear them!

I just wanted to let you know, if you are staying on Disney property and arrive before the holiday season, which Dec. 14th is still Value season, your whole trip would be charged on the Value season rate as long as you aren't changing hotels. They don't charge you more for the last night since that is in the Holiday season. The season you start in is the rate you pay for your whole visit.

I wouldn't worry about not having an AM-EMH at Magic Kingdom during your stay. Since you will be there before all the schools get out the crowds should be pretty low. Whatever you decide good luck and have fun.

Oh! That's good to know! Thank you!

Sounds like you'll be happy either way, but speaking from my experience, I would stick with the Christmas trip. Our first two WDW trips were in early Feb (low season like Jan) and we did our first Dec trip last year (Dec 11-16). WDW is always great, but if you like Christmas festivities, December cannot be beat. I'd go in December even if there weren't any EMHs. Don't worry about not having a morning EMH.

You don't have to wait for the 2007 packages to come out. You can book now, and then if something comes out for your dates you can update.
