Now I'm excited. Only 5 more days!

My upcoming solo trip has finally hit me.
For once I won't be the person toting the backpack carrying the camera's, tickets, bags, washcloth, water, bandaids, etc! I think I'm most excited about the lighter load.
What else won't I miss by not having my family? I'm an early riser and the rest of the family like to sleep in. I'd usually be awake for about 2 hours sitting outside and having my coffee and waiting for them to wake up. This time, when I wake up, I can get moving.
I'm going to do what I want to do with no compromises.
My 40th b-day will be spent having a late lunch at LeCellier.
A couple of cousins will be down there too for a McDonald's convention. We'll have dinner together at Flying Fish on Saturday night. Other than that I'll be familyless.
Oh I can't wait!!!!

Enjoy, siouxi31. One thing for sure is going at your own pace, fast or slow. I like to linger at times, race along at times, LOL. Though I must say I would love to get Marie back down for another trip some day. Again, enjoy.

Make sure you do alot of things that you wouldn't do with your family. For me that would be going to The Hall of Presidents - I haven't been there since I was a teenager (and I didn't appreciate it then).

I'm jealous. My 40th birthday was in February and I was going to take myself on a 4 day cruise. Of course, I came up with a gazillion and one reasons why I couldn't go...and didn't. I've regretted it every day since.
