November Rain Ponchos

Has anyone here ordered anything from November Rain? They have some nice rain ponchos and shipping is free to the U.S. and Canada. My concern is that a while back I ordered something from Amazon that was shipped from the U.S. and I ended up having to pay 50% duty on it. Any experiences with this kind of thing?

Depending when you ordered from Amazon, you may have been under the old deminimus $20 rule, where anything with a value of over $20 was tax and dutiable. The limit remains the same for orders that come in through postal mail, but has since been raised for orders that come in by courier ffrom the US or MExico.

I have done a few orders from Amazon.com this spring [of things I needed but not available in Canada], shipping to Canada. In each case, I chose the option where Amazon charged the shipping, duty and taxes up front -- if the actual cost is higher, they absorb it, and if the cost is lower, they refund the difference. I have gotten one refund [just over a dollar ;-) ].
