November purchase question

We have a DCL cruise booked for the week after Thanksgiving. If we go to Orlando before the cruise for the tour, or purchase on the ship ( I think I read somewhere that there is a DVC rep on board) will we get 2007 points? In other words, if I purchase say for example the 160 min., would we get 160 and then another 160 the following Nov? Also, we usually travel in Oct or Nov, so could they assign another use year or do you get the month in which you buy?

You can pick your use year when you buy from Disney. There is no November use year. If you usually travel in October or November, you would probably pick either a September or October UY because if you book a trip and then do not go, you have 10 months or so left in your use year to use the points. You would also then have a fair amount of time left to decide if you want to bank all of them. (In order to be able to bank the points, you would have had to cancel the ressie more than 30 days before the start of the trip.)

If you bought in November '07, yes you will get '07 points.

The use years are: February, March, April, June, August, September, October and December.
