I am trying to book two nights hotel for the the Thurs/ Fri before our cruise, but it says they are sold out. Has Disney not released all the rooms or are they really all booked 5 months ahead. Dates are Nov 9/10, so not even the Thanksgiving weeks. The only rooms available are 700+/ night. That is usually a lower season week at Disneyland, so I am just a bit surprised

There is no low season at WDW any longer. I would keep checking, but not surprised that you're having issues.

I believe that may be the last weekend of Food & Wine and Veteran's Day so many people may have a long weekend. Plus it is also "Jersey Week" . The schools in NJ shut down on Thursday & Friday for the NJ Teachers convention. It is a popular week for people here to take their children to WDW

11/10 is also Veterans Day - which while not a major holiday, is a holiday for some. Plus Jersey Week, which is a pretty big deal. The F&W 1/2 is the weekend before that.

Have you tried searching for a longer stay around those dates? I wonder if just a two night stay is impacting your results.

I am arriving on 11/11 and for the full week All Stars Music is the only value still available. I must have gotten one of the last rooms at Pop. I changed from a FW tent site, and was second guessing myself, but when I went back to see if campsites were still available only prefered is left. So what used to be about the slowest week all year is now busy. That week gets the last couple days of F&W and the first MVMCP's now.

Wow, I never would have guessed. Maybe something on property will open up, but I booked an national chain near Disney Springs in case we need it. Maybe we will just head over toward Port Canaveral a day earlier if we can't find something. We are somewhat limited bc we are a family of 5. I was shocked last year that Disney World has so few options for larger families. I believe all of the rooms at Disneyland accommodate 5. Anyway even when I changed the search to 4 people (just out of curiosity) it only showed the deluxe suites and such that were super spendy.

Those dates also follow the race weekend, so it's possible people would extend their stay into that week. I had trouble getting rooms near Epcot when I booked for the W&D race weekend 9-10 months in advance.

I agree that it is busy for all the reasons already listed but I have been tracking reservations for Nov 4-11 for months and this past week the website has been crazy. It went from decent availability to barely any over last weekend and even when there is a priced room and I click on the hotel there are no options listed. Also, AoA is showing no availability which is impossible. There is speculation that they are adding the 2018 room rates and possibly a Fall discount which has crashed their system but it has been weird for over a week. I would keep waiting before booking a room.

Thanks I will keep a lookout.

We are booked 11/10 to 11/14, and checking now there are plenty of values and moderates available. So, WDW isn't sold out. Given that it's Veteran's Day weekend and the last weekend of F&W, I suspect WDW is restricting the number of nights showing up for a reservation. If you were to add a night the day before or after, you may see more availability. Good luck and hope you have a great cruise!
