November/December 2016 discount code watch

The dates for the BB are interesting. Increase in fall crowds = no promotion?

The dates from the post are 2017 not 2016 so I agree with that for next year but it doesn't provide information about Fall 2016... Unless I read the BB offer wrong.

I am hopeful that these are just a reflection of 2017 as well. Sending positive vibes :hippie:

Just speculating. Fall has increasingly gotten busier over the past several years, which may be an indication that fall discounts aren't as necessary.

I guess I am hopeful because they had a spring, summer, and early fall discount. Summer is usually peak time, and from what I have read, there has been a major decrease in attendance. Additionally, last year there were discounts through mid fall and early winter.

Maybe they wait to see what actually filled with free dining, and then they release the room only based on availability?

Between Disney Visa, AP, Florida Resident, or General Public, I feel there has to be something, right? :rotfl:

Never give up hope!! :)

So I got a notice this weekend that Pop is undergoing renovations/maintenance the time I'm there, including one pool closure. As if it isn't chaotic enough. :scared: So I called in the hopes of wheedling some kind of "inconvenience" discount (hahahahahahaha) and the CM couldn't help, but she did say that if there was a new discount, they anticipated it coming out sometime this month and that often they come out around when the current one ends, and that would be August 31st. I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but she was kind of talking like she expected one. But who knows.

I got the same letter and made the same phone call. Also struck out. I would of happily paid for an upgrade to a moderate if they would of just thrown me a little discount. Anything. I'm looking for crumbs here! They did offer to switch me to All Stars Music.

I did a re-check of availability for my dates 12/3-12/12 and it's a tad sobering to see so many of the resorts completely unavailable. Everything I had researched said post-Thanksgiving to Pre-mid Dec was the sweet spot.

Want to believe but perhaps too many got clued in too and Disney has their occupancy and no need to discount.

At least there is Pokemon Go to distract us... I am at a lull in my Disney planning at the moment, so I needed something else to satisfy my OCD. :)

Also I have coffee breath. :crazy2:

Just as an aside... my mom and niece invited me to a "Dolly and Me" tea party at a local tea room. I'm bringing my animatronic Stitch, dressed up in a frilly pink dress. It makes me giggle to think of Stitch at a tea party and the hilarity and chaos that would ensue.

It can't hurt to try, right? But yeah... I was thinking, would it KILL them to offer a discount as long as you're willing to upgrade and pay a bit more? I mean... it makes sense to me. Give a guest a discount on a moderate, let's say even 20%... takes the cheapest moderate rate to about $167, which is still $48 more per night than I am paying for Pop Century. Disney makes $330 more off me, that week, and they have a much happier guest on their hands :D

I was thinking back to the early 90s when they had that horrible flooding in the midwest. I was in Disney with a friend and her parents, and the hotels were so empty they were offering insane discounts to people willing to switch from staying offsite to onsite. My friend's dad made a deal to switch from a villa offsite to the Grand Floridian. I wasn't too happy about it, though monorail access was nice. The rooms at the GF weren't that great, and we went from having a hot tub we shared with two other condos and a two-bedroom with a loft space my friend and I shared to all four of us crammed into a two bed and I had to sleep on the wicker sofa thing in the room.

Wow really would have thought there would be some sort of room only discount by now. At this point I am happy i grabbed a free dining offer back earlier this summer just in case nothing better came out. I really thought I would be converting it by now to a room only which would be a better deal for us at 30% off and probably about break even at 25% since it is just me, my wife and 9 yr old daughter staying at a deluxe. Have never done dining plan before but figured would give it a try unless something better came out (which i really figured it would) but so far it appears no dice on a RO offer.

We need a good Zika scare in central FL. Nothing where mothers or developing babies are harmed, just something where it makes it seem, via the media, that if you go to Florida for vacation that you'll come back a little worse for wear.
Heard about the CDC warning on the radio driving to work and thought of you.

With "Awaken Summer" and summer deals still headlining the frontpage, maybe Fall/Winter discounts will show up at the end of August. With free dining having run its course already this year, I can't imagine anything other than the usual Fall/Winter room discount being the featured discount after the summer discounts expire. The room availability is a little concerning, but they offered room discounts during peak summer season which gives me hope.
