We've drove before, from Canada. It was a long drive and I really didnt enjoy the hotels we stayed at on the way there(they werent clean), so I was obviously hystatic to get to WDW.

So are you leaving a couple days earlier to drive?

We are just leaving a day early. We drive straight through from northern, IL. It took us 22 hours last time and that's only because whenver so much as whined or started getting antsy we pulled over to stop and play or get a snack. We wanted it to be a fun trip and were in no hurry to get anywhere. BUT we also didn't want to stop and spend the night anywhere! haah! We did great with us taking turns driving. Next year, we will have an additional driver as we are bringing my dad with us.

Myself and my DF (fiance) are booked for Dec. 1st - Dec. 6th, 2008. Originally planned on going in Sept. like normal, but I have not been able to go home for any holidays in the last 6 years so we changed our dates. Will be arriving in Jacksonville on Thanksgiving Day as a surprise to my little sister and staying until Monday Morning. We then are leaving for the World early that morning but still undecided as to where we are going to be staying. Ressies are made for the WL. But the POLY keeps calling my name. Either way, this will be a first time trip during the decorated months for my DF (me on the other hand too many to count since I was born and raised in Florida... but every trip is always like a first for me still.) Hope to see other DIS peeps there.

Howdy! Newbie to the board!

I've been lurking around but finally decided to register since MIL confirmed we'll be doing a Disney trip for Christmas 2008. It had been rumored for a while but I just flat out asked her today and she said yes! The exciting part that I wasn't expecting is that MIL/FIL will be paying for our flight, tickets and hotel!

There will be 15 in our group so that will be fun and crazy exciting! Looking forward to planning a fun trip with everyone's help!

My family is planning our 4th annual trip for Nov 30th - Dec 10th. We are so excited!! Planning a MVMCP night too!!

I have been browsing the site and talking to MIL and we think that the best bet for our group would be to stay at ASM and get one family suite where BIL, SIL and 4 of the kids will stay then get 3 more regular rooms which would have: 1)MIL, FIL 2)DH, DD and I 3) SIL, BIL and 2 kids.

Now, we just have to see if everyone else says that's ok (I would think they'd just be agreeable since MIL and FIL are paying!) and get the exact December dates figured out.

I'm sure they think I'm crazy for planning almost a year in advance but that's just part of the fun of it for me!

We will be there Nov. 22-29th. It will be my first time staying on property. DH and I are staying at POR and my mom, younger brother and his gf are staying at ASM in one of the fly suites. I'm so excited to be staying on property. It's also the first time DH and I go together. The last time I went was in Dec. 2000. It's been about 15 years since DH's last trip. I can't wait!!!

We are going in late Nov. or early Dec. We are just waiting on the school to release the calendar for next year.

What are the busy dates to avoid this time of year? Pop Warner?

We will probably stay at a value resort this time since we are never in the room anyway. DH wanted to stay offsite but I didn't think we could do the dining plan.

We are going to Hawaii this summer so it is taking majority of our vacation $$$. I really want to experinece the Christmas season at Disney before the kids get too old to pull out of school.

Yes, I totally understand about big vacations! haha! We are going to Mexico in the summer and will be spending loads on that esp with the entire family needing passports now! YIKES!
