November/December 2008?

I would love to be there on Christmas day!! That was out intention this year and lo and behold we ended up pregnant and just had a new baby! haah! So it's November of 08 for us!

Hi Michelle!

This probably would be our dates. At least leaving right after Thanksgiving like we did last year and probably make it a 10 day trip. We now have 4 kids. I know what you mean about wanting to make things easy.

I'll go back and read things through, but where are you going in Mexico?

Hey monymony!!!!!!! Easy is what it's all about! hahaha!!

We're going to Aguascalientes in Mexico. It's a pretty big city, and we're soo excited!! We've got our hotel lined up and now waiting on airfare to be released for our dates and of course we have half the passports done, too much $$ to do them all at once :)

From what I read, sounds like there's a lot of history and culture there. Sounds fun.

I like the visiting the parts of Mexico where there's lots of beaches. Cancun, and Cozemul are my favorites.

Puerto Vallarta, Matzalan, Cabo San Lucas I did on a cruise when I was younger. Nice, very beautiful, seemed like it had a rich history. Very Scenic.

And hot! You're going in July? Don't forget the sunscreen:lmao:

YES! HOT HOT HOT! we've been before and we are definately staying in in air conditioned hotel! hahaha!!

We need to pick a different resort this year so I was wondering, where is everyone staying and why did you pick that resort?

We are paid to stay at the Yacht Club resort, it's all about convenience factor for us! We don't want to have to take the bus and love where it's located...

BUTTTTTTT...

We've spend the last 8 or so visits at POP and realllly love it there and everyone knows us and we figure..well if we switch to pop now, there will be LOADS of money on our account as a credit! haahhaah!!! and we wouldn't have to go down with ANY money at all since we're doing the dining plan already too!! So who knows! We are driving down in our van next year too, so we don't have to worry about the busses anymore. We originaly planned on flying, but decided against it recently.

Where have you stayed in the past?

I have stayed at the Wilderness lodge twice, ASMU this last trip, and our next stay will be at the Polynesian.

The first trip to the WL was with my son when he was 5. I was a single parent at the time and had saved up for this trip since he was born. We were there for 12days over Halloween and had a blast! It is so convenient to transportation to MK, it is only a boat ride away, I am not a fan of the busses. Or take a boat to the contemporary and get on the monorail. The WL is beautiful and if you are a fan of Lodges as we are, it is awesome! The rooms are nice, we had a queen bed and a set of bunkbeds, which my son loved. There was room to move around and we had a view of the pool with a balcony both times. ( we paid for a standard view and were upgraded at checkin both times!) To me WL feels like HOME. The pool is nice, and we liked having the marina there too to rent the mice boats. We could also take a boat over to fort wilderness for activities like Hoop De Doo.

ASMu we stayed at this trip because it was a last minute trip we had not been planning to take. We needed value because we did not really have the money budgeted for it. My cousins called from England and said they wanted to meet us at Disney and I love to see them and hardly get a chance, so we decided why not? Lets go. ASMU was ok. It was good for the price. The room was clean. It was a little small, not much moving around room, 2 double beds, a small table and not much else room. It was ok though we did not spend much time in the room, just to sleep and shower. The pools looked nice, we did not use them due to the short time we were there, the food court was ok, not too many selections but served our needs. The service was great, from luggage to front desk to mousekeeping. If you were going to stay at a value I would reccommend it.

We picked the Poly for the next trip for a couple of reasons, one being my husband stayed there with his family as a kid, and he is very nostalgic. We also enjoyed the WL deluxe resort experience so much we wanted to try another one, we have visited them all and the GF is nice to look at, but a little too fancy for us, the contemporary is too sterile for us, we love the theme places. The poly is very pretty, love the beach, marina, palm trees beautiful flowers, MK access by boat or monorail, it has Ohanas and Kona which we enjoy, and we would love to see fireworks from the beach on the nights we can't make it to the MK. We spend most of our time at the MK so we like to be near there. I know there are some cool places to stay over near Epcot, if that is the park you enjoy more. Someone else I'm sure will reply to that.

Im sure you will receive alot more responses, but those are just a few of our reasons, hope it helped!

eyenjeff: Growing up I stayed at the contemporary. Loved always riding the monorail through the Poly. One day we will stay there. We've dinned at Kona's and experienced the Spirit of Aloha. I think staying at the Poly would be so nice for what it offers. The dinning is great and I've read how nice the view of the fireworks is. I think having the monorail at your convienence is key. How do you get to MGM and AK? The bus? Ore are there other ways?

With my family now, we've stayed at the Coronado, loved it, and ASMu/Mo/Pop. But had to get 2 rooms at those. Well, the Coronado as well. My mom usually travels with us.

We have 4 kids now and one is considered an infant so I was thinking POR since you can get a trundle and then we can ask for a crib.

I asked my question to see what makes people pick the resorts they stay in. Maybe there's something I didn't think about or failed to notice.

I appreciate your responses.

DMM stated and I agree that what makes your vacation easy is pretty important.

I agree also on what makes it easiest is the best!

I guess from the poly we either take a monorail to epcot and then the boat to MGM, which is the long way or we take a bus.

We are not fans of AK, so we will probably not go next trip, but I guess the bus again.

I don't mind a bus ride here or there, but everyday is too much and I love the idea of getting on the monorail or a boat to get where we need to go. Plus we love activities and eating places at WL and FW, so being a boat ride away is great!

Good luck with your search!:santa:

We need to pick a different resort this year so I was wondering, where is everyone staying and why did you pick that resort?

I've never, wait, we've never ever been to WDW, so we decided to go for our honeymoon. (We being fiance and I)

I searched and searched on these boards, and finally decided that a Deluxe to me wasn't worth the extra $$$ but a value just didn't quite cut it either. A moderate was the way to go for us.

We finally decided on CSR over POFQ because of Buzz and his very thorough, yet unbiased information he offers on his CSR website. I know I wouldn't like the CBR, so that one was out. I liked POFQ because it's small, but we ultimately went with CSR because I like the whole Southwest feel to it (even though I am already in Texas). I also like that they don't share buses with any other resort and they seem relatively centrally located on WDW property. I am just going off what I think since I have never been to WDW. We're happy with our choice! :goodvibes

Now if I could only find a code for next November!! ;)

AUGHH!!! you will love love love CSR!! we stayed there for a portion of our honeymoon and loved it!!! it's soo romantic!! we even had a room RIGHT BY the spa, so I was there a lot! hahaha!! not to mention we walked out of our door and the quiet pool was there too! awesome!

Subscribe to mousesavers.com that's where I found mine last year and saved $800.00(on 2 rooms).

I loved CSR. When we first booked that disney ran a special, something like stay 4 nights get 3 free. We had two rooms and wound up saving 1,200.00.
So just watch everything daily.

Do you have a link to that website?

It is getting closer isn't it?

June 1st I can start making my ADR's.

That's only 150 days away.

YAY!!! ADRs will be fun to do! I can't wait for that either.

Next month I can reserve the van we are using to drive down :) :yay:
