November/December 2008?

We just booked November 30 - December 6 at WL!! We're going in January of this year as well, but next December my parents will be joining us for a Grand Gatherings Experience. We've never seen Disney during the Christmas holiday, so we're very excited.

We're going next year around that time as well. We went one year the week before Thanksgiving and the Christmas decorations were just coming out. We loved what we saw and promised ourselves we would go back for the decorations one year. 2008 is that year!

We're definitely staying at WL. We stayed there in Oct 2006 and my boys loved it.

We're aiming (pending DVC availability) for Dec 5th - Dec 12th. We'll do the 5th at the All Star Music Family Suite and the rest of the time either at AKV (our home resort) or VWL (if there's availability at the 7 month window).

Well, we decided yesterday to call to book the AS Music Family Suite for the ONE night we'd want it....just so we didn't miss out on it...and they appear to all be booked. The CRO rep was SHOCKED. Over a year in advance and it LOOKS like they're all taken.

We booked 2 AS Music rooms, they promised they'd be connecting (we know the risk...if we have to my wife and I will sleep apart for one night with kids in each room), and we'll keep checking back to see if there are any cancellations on the suite.

It's ONLY $20 more and it's ONLY one night, so I think we'll live.

Hi. We always get connecting rooms because we have three children. And we are always told that they guarantee connecting rooms to a family that has a greater number of children than adults in one family. You should be okay.

Man, I better get on the phone and make a reservation! Can't believe they are already taken! Seems like Disney should be getting the hint by now that the normal family size these days is more than 2 children.

We LOVE WL!! We were there last year and will be again twice in 2008. I'm SOOOOO looking forward to seeing the holiday decorations!!

We're planning a trip Dec. 6-12, 2008. Probably renting 2 rooms at POP! Didn't think I could get DH to agree to a trip back so soon, but I did it!!!

Turns out that the unavailability of the suites was a system glitch. They were available the next day, so we called back and switched our booking. VERY happy a bout that.

On the connecting guarantee...we've been told the same thing you have. BUT...it turns out (and you can do a search around the boards for the horror stories) that the connecting rooms are guaranteed right up until they're not...

CRO will tell you they are, for exactly the reasons you give. The front desks/room assigners will try to honor it, but every once in awhile things don't work out that way....and you're stuck in seperate rooms, one adult in each, with the kids split up. I'd say 80% to 90% of the time, it sounds like things work out as planned.

I'm taking my mom and gram 11/30 to 12/6. We're staying at the GF. This will be grams first time. She'll be 88 when we go. Just hoping we have another good health year so she can make the trip.

Pop Warner is a youth football and cheerleaders league. They go down for their championship week. From what I read they stay at the Value Resorts and they really don't impact the parks. I don't know what the dates are for next year.

Hi! My family dh , myself, 3 dd's plus niece will be going to WDW the Saturday before Thanksgiving to the Sat after. My middle daughter turns 13 on Dec. 1 and picked WDW to help celebrate it with! I've trained her well. Due to DH and I being teachers this was the best week we could go. We are still having to take 1 day deduct, but it's all worth it!

We are thinking of staying in 2 rooms at either POP or AS. We've been to Carribean and Port Orlean's Riverside, but with an extra person we will need two rooms, so value it is! I love planning a WDW trip so this will help make the year go very fast! How will the weather be that week? We are coming from Iowa so anything warmer will be great!

Very true I used to work front desk for WDW Yacht club and try as we might, it's not always guarenteed, no matter what the reservations person tells you.

We were there in Dec 2005 too! Although not directly on christmas. We were there the first week of December and stayed at the WL too. Since you already stayed there at the holidays, you know how beautiful it is all decorated for Christmas! Enjoy your stay, I wish we could be there on Christmas day, maybe another year. We will have to settle for the first week of Dec 2008, which is just as good to us.
