November 8, 2008 7 Night Eastern 11/8/2008 11-8-2008 FIRST POST UPDATED ON 10/16/08

Is the water that yucky tasting? I am not picky. I just don't want to get sick. And I thought if you can carry it on your person, you could bring water. That is what I have read recently. Any comments??? I am thinking of bringing some water...

You can carry on your own water. I may stop and get a case of Fiji. We purchased the avion (not sure of the spelling) and it was awful tasting. JMHO

I
I really would like to do the fish extender, but I guess I don't really understand how we hand the gifts out. This is my first time with the whole fish extender and the little gifts you give out. So my question is do you give something to each person in the cabin or do you give just one gift for the whole cabin? I have been talking to adam( hi adam, if you are reading this), that is going to be on this cruise and he was thinking on get a small tote bag and do iron ons on the bag. This sounds like a good idea to me too, since I don't have a sewing machine and don't really know how to sew that good. Also is it to late to sign up to do this? Thanks in advance!

The FE is fun and very easy. You are given a list with the folks who signed up and their cabin#. All you have to do is go to each cabin and place your gift in their fish extender. That is all there is to it. I think Morgan4 is making it even easier or more organized for those of us who may have time management issues;) She is setting up a schedule for each person as to the day you deliver yours. Now we have early dining and tend to do it after dinner if we are not going to a show. My sister and I have been known to do after folks go to bed as well. We also manage to do laundry then. Hope this helps.

On the last cruise I was on I did all my delivering around midnight. :tiptoe: This way the goodies were there first thing in the morning. No one is in the halls and I have fun doing it that way. :tiptoe:

Don't mean to upset you, but it was suppose to be that way....MAGICal....get it???? The ship....Magic! That was the idea from the beginning. I thought everyone got that, sorry if you did not!

I have my door sign made and I was sure I had it saved and now I can't find it. I will look and if you still need it let me know.

Sorry about the misunderstanding, but I thought everyone knew.

Harole Ann

Sorry I didn't even think of that. I changed mine so now I'll change it back. I just all of a sudden saw it and thought  there is an error. Feel like a jerk. I took it to mean what you said, but I thought the word was supposed to be in all caps.

I was checking my reservation on the DCL site and noticed that the reservations I had made for Palos were not listed. I don't understand what happened? It says your Palo reservations should be listed under my cruise plans. Anyone else have this problem?

I think I am beginning to get on dh's nerves a little!:rotfl: He knows how wound up I get before a Disney vacation, but I am on a roll for sure!:cool1: !

Clothes are on the bed, bags are on the floor, and housecleaning is in high gear and now for :laundy: . I finally got him to pick out what lens and filter for his camera and now I have to check out the video camera. I have not used it since last summer.

We bought a new digital camera and I have been the only one using it. I have been taking pictures at the boys football games and average about 300 pictures per game. I really don't know the camera that well because all I take are the continual action shots so I need to learn some of the rest of the features before vacation. Somehow I don't think I will have too much time to get in gear with that. I will bring my little one to be on the safe side!

When are we getting the list of everyones rooms participarting in the fish extenders?

I don't think anyone has to worry about making anything fancy for a fe. Don't let that keep you from being part of the fun. One gift per stateroom is how we have always done on other cruises. Individual items could get expensive and complicated. Last summer the children had their own exchange which was neat.

I hope Kate is not pulling her hair our keeping up with her list! I just put our items together this morning. The last list I saw had 25 famlies. If there are more, and I am sure there are, let us know. The more the merrier!

I am just so excited to meet everyone.:dance3:

I really paniced when I read your post because that happened to us once. I called the 800 number and they told us they had canceled all of the reservations for that particular night. I really read the riot act and asked for a supervisor. They got the reservation taken care of before we got on the ship, but I can tell you there were some anxious moments because I made those reservations as soon as it was open to do so.

Get on the phone now!!!!!!!!

Wow you sound like yo are ready to go this week. I am way behind the power curve. I haven't done anything but buy the stuff to make my FE gifts. I need to get on the ball! Wait! I did do online check in!!!

:cool1: Just received 2 of our travel documents! YEAH!! Can't believe it is this close! Now, just to receive the documents for our other room :thumbsup2

Anyone have any suggestions on what to do when we arrive. We come in on Wed the 5th around noon. I don't want to waste money on a full day ticket at the parks.... Any ideas?

Hi ya'll. I'm new to this board/forum. My family and I will be sailing with you all on the Eastern 11/8 cruise...yeah!! I was wondering if anyone has ever used Lucky Stables on St. Maarten before or ridden the Rhino Riders with Concierge Blue? I booked the two hour ride at Lucky Stables last night for DH and myself. The "kids" and their spouses want to do the Rhino Riders. I have an email request in the book them but have not heard back from anyone.

This is our fourth cruise, all Disney and we can't wait!! DD went on the first one with us when she was 17 and DS has never been (and we haven't heard the end of it!!). He and his wife will be joining us along with my brand new GB!! Love that baby girl!!

Thanks in advance for any help you can give with my questions. I live in Orlando and have been a CM for 12 years so fire away if you have any questions of your own...! :yay:

Less then 4 weeks!!

Welcome aboard, Deborah!!! We have an awesome group of people on this Cruise, it is going to be a BLAST!!!!!! And Welcome to the DISboards too!

Which park do you work at and what do you do( if I can ask that)? My mom and I will be down at WDW from Nov.5-8 and then on the Cruise! We will be staying at Pop Century and going too Downtown Disney & the Magic Kingdom!

You know what, I am going to sign up for the fish extender exchange! It sounds like a lot of fun, now that I understand how it works better( thanks everyone). I hope I don't mess things up signing up so late:guilty:

Please don't take this the wrong way but I really find it cute and innocent that you think I work at a park! There are over 56,000 CM's and many of us get the honor of working in the parks to work face-to-face with our guests. I do not have that privilage! I work in a building down the road from AK right now but I moved there a year ago from Team Disney, across from Down Town Disney. Hope that helps! I do try to do Cross-U shifts whenever possible so that I get to work at a park for a day!!

I hope you will have fun on your visit to the parks. What will you be doing those extra days?

Deborah

LOL, I have to laugh at myself now! Don't ask me why I thought you would be at one of the parks and not somewhere else. Don't worry I did not take it the wrong way, people always tell me that too~ that I am cute and innocent!

I know we are going to have a BLAST for sure!!!!!! We will be going to Downtown Disney and doing some shopping the first full day, that we are there! Then the 2nd full day, that we are there we are going to spend the day at the Magic Kingdom park!

Hey Deborah - I used to work in Team Disney too! We'll have to share some Cross-U stories on the cruise...I've got a few that will make you :scared1:

Welcome to the thread!!!

Sarah's right, we've got a great group, and it's going to be so much fun!! See ya real soon!

Lucky you for getting to those documents. If my eyes have not failed me at this late hour, your photo looks like you have younger children. We usually arrive around the same time as you and we like to hit the ground running. We tend to do whatever park is open late that day. Hope that helps.

If you don't want to go to the park that day, Downtown Disney is always a fun place to go and their is no admission.

Welcome, Deborah! Glad to have you with us! We are going to have a great group and I just can't wait to meet everyone for real!:dance3:

We just booked the 12 night Northern Europe Cruise today and that board is really hopping already. Lots of friends we know from our cruise last summer....my poor dh will really be after me if I don't get away from the computer!:surfweb: .

I was really hoping the UPS man would stop today, but he kept on going. Seems to me it is later than usual for packets to be arriving. Glad to hear someone is getting theirs so at least we know they are on the way!

Well, you are very cute! I think it's great that many Disney Fans believe in the magic so much!! It's what we all strive for, the magic!!

Shopping at DTD is always fun! If you have any children, you may want to check out the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique at the World of Disney Store. The turn little girls into princeses and boys into pirates! What fun!

Have you been to Mickey's Philharmagic show before? It's one of my favorite MK attractions!!

Where and when is everyone meeting? I must have missed that part of the thread...!

UPS guy just came with my stateroom assignement!!! Woooo Hoooo!!

Is it November 8th yet?!!
