November 7, 2009 ~~~~ AHOY ST.CROIX ~~~~

Our last room finally got a cabin number but they are on deck 2 and the other 3 are on deck 6. All on the same end but different floors. Is there any hopes of getting them near us?

Krista

Congrats to you guys who got pixie dusted! pixiedust:

Where are you seeing your room information? I logged onto disneycruise.com and retrieved my reservation but don't see anywhere any information about my room, not GTY which is what I booked, or any room number at all. Am I looking in the right place?

Mostly I've been just reading the posts here on the cruise meet rather than posting myself, and I have to say you all are quite sweet and I'm so looking forward to our cruise together! :yay:

I pulled up the reservation and under stateroom it has a room number and still the Gty status. I looked this morning and it was empty but when I check again it was there. It had the room number under stateroom. I am not sure if I am explaining it well enough. Can anyone else help. I am so new i thought and didnt realize I got an upgrade when we did. Hope you get some pixie dust too.:flower3:

We let them each take a small bag with little things in it, ie. the small princess toys, etc. We also take one or two new little things that they have not seen before so it's a new surprise. We have been bringing the DVD player with two ear phones and that works wonderfully for at least an hour or more, depending on what movie they are watching. (It's usually a princess movie or something Disney.) I would also be interested to see what everyone else does.

Bonnie

It would be nice if the batteries lasted more than 75 minutes. Then travel issues would vanish

Hope you get some pixie dust too.:flower3:

Thanks, I hope so too! I'll be fine if we don't but I would be ecstatic if we do. Right now I'm just dying of curiosity!

I don't even see "stateroom" anywhere :confused3. I went to to Planning Center and clicked on My Cruise Plans. In the upper right hand corner of the screen is a shaded box titled "Summary" which has the right sailing dates, 2 adults and 1 child, and our confirmation number and it says "Welcome, Theresa!" so I know it's the right one - but don't see anything about staterooms. Am I blind? Am I looking in the right spot? Will it show up here eventually?

Traci,
you described it correctly. Bring up your reservation and right below our name it has always said GTY room and now beside it , there is a room number.

If people dont have a number yet, they probably will within the next 24 hours.
I am sure they are just starting to post them. No upgrade for us but we have had a couple before so I dont mind. We are on the ship and thats what counts:goodvibes

Krista,
This happens often when you have so many rooms and you didnt book connecting room. It is just the luck of the draw where you all wind up.
You can call and ask if you can be closer but i really doubt it will happen.

We have always been on different decks than family but the ship really isnt that big and its easy to get to the rooms, plus you really wont be in your rooms all the time. You will be on deck, in the pools, restaurants and shows so you will be connected. Plus you can call room to room to see who is going where?? It worked out ok for us and i am sure it will for you too.

Our DVD player lasts 4 1/2 hours so we can easily watch a show, maybe 2 if they arnt too long when we travel. I always take it on long flights.
Some planes have plus in under your seats too where you can plug it in.
You can go online and check for them.

Kathy

The first page that pops up after you get to your reservation page it will have your cruise date, name and such. your room number is next.

Here are the products of my labors this week. I was happy they turned out so well, although a LONG way from perfect by any standards. Besides the fish extenders, this is the first sewing I had done in about 20 years, other than mending.

Linda OMG....I love your bags and I love love the black one. Too cute. I am not able to look at pics at work so just logged on here at home and were able to see them. Great work girl.:woohoo:

Traci,

Glad you are feeling better. Nate will bounce back...kids always get better quicker. No colds/flu here yet so it worries me getting closer to our date. Hopefully we avoid it.

I can't remember if I gave you cabin numbers or not but there was I mix up in our cabins and which people were in which room so I if I did, can you let me know so I can give you correct cabin with people?

Thanks

Krista

Hi all,

I can't believe tomorrow is Friday. The week flew by. My father-in-law who is undergoing chemo for lymphoma got the go ahead from his doctor to join us. He is so excited he already packed.

Anyone going to the New England Podcast meet this weekend?

Hi Everyone

Congrats to all of you on your room assignments! We booked connecting rooms with DSIL and DBIL & kids. That is going to be 2 very crazy rooms with all the kids between us. DMIL and DFIL are across the hall. We are all on deck 2. I think there will be lots of us on that deck by the sounds of it - party time!!:dance3::banana::banana:

Linda - those bags are gorgeous, great work!

I have lots to do still on my FE gifts and my scrap swap stuff... hoping to have a wee bit of time this weekend. Next weekend: no stuff going on, finally for once. Then it is our Canadian thanksgiving the week after that. Wow the cruise is really coming up soon!

DD is going to be a HSM cheerleader for Halloween, and her plan is to bring the costume on the ship, she is HSM crazy. Does anyone know if there is a show or anything HSM onboard?

Dale, I've added you to the scrap swap list. Welcome, I love your idea!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Aaaiiiyeeee! I logged on to the disneycruise website again tonight and pulled up our reservation and lo and behold it looks totally different from earlier today and I see our room - we got pixie dust! It's our first cruise and I was excited anyway, but we got a Cat 9 room on deck 2 instead of the Cat 12 GTY I booked! Yippee!:woohoo: Man, this stuff never happens to me. I had originally booked a Cat 11, then downgraded to a Cat 12 GTY when those became available to save some money so I'm feeling extra lucky.

And yes, I meant sweet. You've all been very welcoming and helpful to everyone here that I've seen on the boards. Now how I feel after the cruise we'll just have to see  ...just kidding (I'm pretty sure).

Congrats to Traci and Theresa on the upgrades!!! Wow!

Linda, your bags are gorgeous. I know you will look fab-u-lous!!

Shauna- we've traveled a lot with our kids. They each had flown by 4 months old, and fly a minimum of 1-2 times per year. DVD players are great except the battery dies on us too. Same with DD's laptop. Now they read or play DS. When they were younger I tried to have new and exciting snacks, small new toys, card games. A little tiny playdoh container was great! Not sure you can carry that on anymore. Maybe? :confused3 I had a tiny magna-doodle which was lots of fun for silly pictures. The benefit to getting your kids used to traveling young is that it's so much easier later. My kids have flown to Hawaii, slept upright on the seats in Dallas airport at 4 am, and are generally unruffled by time zone changes and airport food. :rotfl: My FIL flew them back to Tennessee this summer with 2 stops and 11 hours of travel time before Nashville! All to save $20. The kids survived but my FIL's back, not so much.

Just occasionally, justice recovers the sight in one eye. Imagine puting kids through that. I'da given him the $20 to fly direct!:rolleyes1

Good morning, everyone!

Sokay, I wouldn't worry about the one room being on a different deck. Y'all won't move in tandem anyway, but being on the same elevator is handy because you'll be moving in similar patterns.

SScott - HOW GREAT about your dad! That is WONDERFUL NEWS.

Thank you for the compliments on my bags :goodvibes Now, it's off to the next project - the page swap.

Great news on the upgrades, y'all!

Regarding the DVD's on the plane. We did purchase the extended battery when we bought the DVD. The first one we had didn't have enough time for what we wanted so this is the key. We also use it on car trips and with the two earphones, Grandma doesn't have to listen to the movie for the gazillionth time. We did find that in the airports, near the phones, are plugs and on long trips we recharge them during a layover.

I too am working on our gifts. We are going to Disney World for four nights on October 1 (Contemporary) so now that is first priority but when we get home I'll get back at it in full pace mode.

Having not a crafty bone in my body I envy all of you for your sewing and scrapbooking talents. The bags were beyond anything I can imagine doing.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the ship.

Bonnie

I just realized they new Christmas Carol movie premiers 11/6. Hopefully they'll be showing it on the ship!
