Good Morning, Everyone!

All that talk of Earl's made me hungry!
Our evening out was quite successful! If you're ever in Albany, NY, have I got the place for you. Franklin's Tower on Broadway is a hidden gem. The whole place is about 12 feet wide, the ground floor dominated by a bar, backed up with half a dozen high backed booths with coat hooks on the ends. The floor is still paved with the tiny hexagonal ceramic tiles from the 19th century. At the end of the room is an ancient shoe shine stand with space for 3 gents at once. You can almost hear the whispers of the political machine bosses from days of old. But as soon as you get your plate you're whisked directly to today.

I had salmon, rolled around veggies and tied with a leek on a bed of crab and spinach risotto. OH YUM. A solid 9. The gentleman had the days special, pan seared swordfish, artisticly arrayed on a bed of baby veggies and fingerling potatos. Another solid 9. Caeser salad decorated with nice crumbly slabs of parmesan - lovely. The desserts, not so much - creme brulee with a nicely flamed sugar top but the creme part was lacking substance and flavor, hazelnut pot au creme - rated "eh", and flourless chocolate cake that got no comment at all, but did disappear. dinner for 4 with 2 glasses of wine and 2 beers, $130. We'll be back. The band - Side Effects - well, they're very good, and we survived one set but the venue was way too small for such a big sound. Either that, or we're getting too old.

Happy Day, All!

I have never been to earl of a sandwich but it sounds like everyone loves it. I will have to try it.

Maybe we could go there insead of ohana. Want company? just joking.

So guys I am at home tonight in the new house alone. It's kinda scary. Tim is at the station and Nathan is with his dad. I know I will be ok. I will set the alarm but still a little scary.

So I went to kohls tonight and racked up. I got four shirts for Nathan, four for me. Two pair shorts for me. A pair of dockers for Tim and a shirt for Tim. All for 129.00 dollars.

First - you most certainly may join us, we would love to have your company but I can't figure you would give up Ohona for the Earl. You just let me know if you change your mind and want to.

Well - I have only had my coffee and now I need FOOD. The place sounds amazing. As far as the band and 'too much sound' - I didn't like that when I was young either. If I can't carry on a conversation without shouting, it is too loud.

Well, DH is leaving for a scout campout with his troop so just the dog and me until tomorrow. I do have an appointment at the salon this morning and need to stop quickly at the grocery but other than that - we will have some down time.

Take care everyone and have a great day!

Good morning everyone. I am very tired this morning as I didnt get too much sleep. Tim got home this morning and is very tired. Zoey on the other hand is up and ready to play. I am off to find a formal dress and semi formal dress.

After that I think I will start my FE gifts since Nate is not here and get my page swap going. How many are everyone planning on for the scrapbook swap? I got a cricut last week and I am ready to crank out some great things. But I want to have enough done so I dont have to go back and do more.

Everyone have a great day!

Good morning everyone. It is definitely time for a cruise. I have four exams next week and will be studying in the library all weekend, except for a short football break. Go Gators!! I say we all just go right now. Who's with me. :cool1::cool1:

Sorry - I am more along the line of Go Bucks! but I will be right behind you if you figure out how we can go right now. Study hard - and take some breaks too.

Hi, my family is also on this cruise and I was wondering if anyone has gotten off the wait list and into main dinner seating?

A litle about us, we are a family of four, two boys Sean (5) and Sam (3), Mom and me. This is our 3rd Disney cruise. We originally had a CAT 12 reservation but got the FLR when it was offered and switched to CAT 11. We were hoping for an upgrade, but struck out and were assigned a CAT 11 on deck 6. Luckily, when one of you got upgraded, we paid a small fee and snuck into a vacated SPH cabin, so that will be nice.

Looking forward to just relaxing, probably won't evem get off the ship in St. Thomas (unless I hit Kmart for some rum to bring home). We are hoping to get main dinner seating but because our reservation changed to the FLR, I think we lost our place on the wait list and may have to do it on emarkation day.

I am by no means an expert, but do have some experience with DCL. Looking forward to meeting you all and enjoying 7 days of fun.

See you soon.

Chris, Svetla, Sean & Sam

Usually changing to a reduced rate would not change your position in line for main dining, as long as your confirmation number stayed the same. The only other time we waitlisted for main dining we did not find out until we got our kttw cards and dining assignment at the port. DCL works in mysterious ways. Glad to have you joining us and look forward to meeting you.

Oh and in case nobody noticed.

Welcome aboard, Clukas! (I agree with Mike about the dining rotation. We're waitlisted for it too, but haven't gotten it yet.)

Morning all,
gosh it feels strange to be here on a weekend:goodvibes

Shauna, my friends on deck one had an inside room.

Gail, nice photos. Action shots are hard to get without being blurry. You must have a great camera and be verygood at using it.
Night before the cruise we will be running around one of the parks at WDW. Dont know which one.

I noticed the travel network has DCL show on today at 1 p.m. west coast time. I have it memorized by now but I think I will watch it again:goodvibes
It adds to the anticipation of the cruise!!

Greg is moving his mom this weekend so its just me and the dogs.

I took them out at 7 a.m. and walked them across to the field they can run and play in. Before I removed their leashes they saw a cat in the field.
Both my arms must be 10 inches longer than when I started out this morning.

I dont know how i held them back and drug them back to the door. They were pulling hard enough to choke themselves and hurt my arms.
For thse who dont know one of my dogs is 66 pounds , the other is 84 pounds at their last check up. Pixie may be 90 pounds by now. So its like pulling a team of horses instead of dogs:lmao: My nieghbors tell me to get a pair of roller skates so they can pull me on their walks:thumbsup2

So it was quite a battle. Then they looked out the window and barked for the next 30 minutes until the cat left. He is a stray cat that lives off scraps from the truck stop near by and hunts mice in the field now and then. He was one lucky cat today that I didnt have my dogs off their leashes or Pixie would have caught him. She is part greyhound and really fast!
That was my morning.

Hope everyone has a great saturday. I will spend it working on the last of my FE gifts. Plus we have a beautiful sunny day, hitting 75 today. Perfect weather for fall.

Back later,

Kathy

Thanks, unfortunately we ended up with a whole new cruise. Through a little wrangling we transferred our reservation to a dummy date because we had OB perks and wanted to try and use them to get on the 2011 PC cruise, so we ended up as if we just purchased this cruise in late August, so my guess is we're at the end of the list. Everything will work out and we'll be fine but like most I try my best to get EVERYTHING I WANT.

I am happy to just sit back with a rum drink or two, let the kids enjoy everything and just relax. Once onboard, all the planning is over and the enjoyment begins.

I have to laugh at this a little - seems like when I get what I thought I DIDN't want, it usually works out to unexpected benefits!

What will be WILL be - at least I won't be cooking dinner.:cutie:

Afternoon all,

I am sitting here watching the Disney cruise show on the Travel network:goodvibes Makes me even more excited to get going on this cruise!!:yay::yay::yay:

Reminder to everyone who has a GTY room. Check for your room number on your ressies on line. Most have their room numbers.:thumbsup2

PLEASE send me your numbers and Traci too if your doing the FE.
I have 3 new families added to the list and I want to send out a revised list for everyone but I want to have room numbers added before I do that.

So PLEASE send them to me soon. Thankyou!!:upsidedow

Gail- love the soccer shots! My DD is a goalie too. Today's game was probably 95 degrees at 9 am! She was dying out there in her black long sleeve goalie jersey.

Well, we are off to Dallas! We try to go see the Cowboys play every year. This year Stew and I are going to see the new stadium. Monday Night Football, here I come! We're very excited. I'll try to post some pics if I can figure out how to upload to photobucket from my iPhone. We even got an upgrade to first class on the way out so I am typing this from my seat with an ice cold Corona in my hand. I did not know alcohol is free in first class. What a way to start our trip, huh?!:cool1:

THAT's pretty exciting! Never seen a pro game. Never ridden in first class. You guys know how to live!

Kathy, you be careful out there with those dogs. Maybe even take them out one at a time? I'd hate to see you get hurt. (If that's not an option, you may want to watch 27 reruns of the dog whisperer :rotfl2: )

Christine, Have fun in Big D. I am originally from Dallas, although I have lived in MA for 15 years now. My father was at the Texas/OU game and said the new stadium is amazing.

Sort of scary to watch those goalies sometimes. And I hear you with the long sleeved "stuff". When Drew played in high school - not only was his shirt long sleeved (at least he got to pick his own out so it wasn't dark colored) he wore goalie pants (padded in the thighs and other spots that I can't remember since I have not had to wash them in 2 years) and they were black. College was when he started wearing shorts - and it gets a bit nippy for shorts pretty soon. David has had that camera and taken over 100 shots per game since Drew was a senior in high school and that is the first, clear, in the air shot that he got. Ummmm, what do they say, practice makes perfect???

Enjoy your trip - nothing like first class. I used to travel a lot for business and was upgraded to first but didn't fly enough last year so I am in the way back these days. So long as I can get an aisle, that is just fine with me!

Kathy - I agree with Linda - BE CAREFUL. You might want to scout the area before you bring the dogs out. They behaved as they were bred to so can't really fault them.

Have a good evening everyone. I snoozed but didn't really get in a good nap (hard with the lab on my lap) so I think it will be an early night for me.

wow guys I am so excited 6 weeks left to go. And we are on page 100:cool1::cool1:.

So I have been running all day. I think I am so over shopping. I really can't believe I said that but I am. I think Tim might ban me from Kohls.

But we baught a new car/Suv today. We got a nissan murano. I just love it:woohoo:. I am soooo super excited and happy to have a new car.

I hope everyone is doing ok. But I had a ? are we still cutting off the FE sign up list at one month before the cruise? I really need to make sure I get everything done for the cruise and only have one more weekend that Nate will be gone. Since I am working on this when he is gone since everything is a surprise. I dont want to be rude or upset people but that is what we originaly discussed and wondered if that was ok or what do you guys feel like you want to do.

Also I posted a ? about the scrapbook swap...how many are you guys making for so I know and can get it done all at once.

Sorry for all of the questions. Hope everyone has a great night.

Well it turns out my cat story this morning was just the start today:rolleyes1
I do check for the 2 stray cats and deer before we go out, just happened the cat was laying flat so I couldnt see him.

Ok around noon I took the dogs out with no incidents in the field. Then I walked them around the park as usual.

As we rounded a corner there was a beautiful white cat sitting about 500 feet ahead of us.:sad2:
The cat didnt see us but of course my dogs saw it:eek:

There were a few people outside who got quite a show after that.
It was too late to turn back so I tried to hold backmy dogs. Next thing I know they are pulling me down the road and I am stumbling like a drunk old lady:lmao: I knew if I didnt let go I would fall and get hurt.

So I yelled at the cat :RUN FOR YOUR LIFE CAT!!" as if he could understand me. But it did get his attention and I had to let the dogs go!

Luckily the cat ran a zig zag pattern which threw Pixie off, she ran behind a trailer thinking the cat was going that way when he went the other way and ducked under a 5th wheel. Minnie was about a foot from him when she heard my ANGRY voice telling her to stop and come which she did. I was surprized.

She stopped dead in her tracks , put her ears and head down and came slowly over to me. I told her to sit and stay which she did. The i yelled at Pixie who did the same thing. I think they obeyed because they have never heard me be so mad before.

I think the cat actually lives here because i have seen him on a leash before or a cat just like him. The rules state NO animals to be left outside unless you are with thema and while in the park they must be on a leash.

So if I see someone walking that cat i am going to talk with them and let them know next time he may not be so lucky. There are lots of dogs here, all would love to get that cat just out of instinct.

By the time we got back I was so upset i didnt notice my little finger was hurting and bruised from the leash being pulled out of my hand. I can move it ok but it really hurts. I think it may be sprained.

My dogs avoided me for along time after that. Then I called them over and made up with them.
What a day it has been. First the wild cat, then the house cat.

Oh well I guess it was exciting if nothing else and no animals got hurt accepts my pups rears when I whacked them once. They have been obeying perfectly since then.

Time to go and relax, Greg should call soon,
Remember to sendme your room numbers everyone:flower3:
