November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

I cannot believe how short our chain is getting and how soon we will be leaving! Here are a few pics from one of our family hobbies - camping. This is in the mountains from last summer - Twin Lakes. I know some of you are from Colorado so thought you might like to see some CO pix. :cool2: Also reading your comments on the storms - I haven't been following but am going to now. I hope that doesn't affect our trip!

Nice pictures.
Beautiful mountains. Reminds me of Oregon.
We also have twin lakes on Mt Bachelor.

I think Colorado and Oregon share alot of beauty with their mountians and lakes.

I really hope Rina goes towards Texas they want the rain not Florida!!!

This weekend is also when Cocoa Beach has their Air Show so it will be a little busier than the average weekend at area hotels, so I wouldn't wait too long.

Well we are leaving on three different days... Josh and I are driving down on Saturday 29th for a conference. DW Aimee and DD Toree are flying down Tuesday evening for three days of WDW, and Kellie; Josh's DW is flying down Thursday evening. We are diversifying travel...

I am hoping the storm goes west and then north west and out to sea... By Wednesday. I am hoping it will suck the energy out of the water and is calm by Saturday the 5th...

So for some reason i feel like i'm a day off. It feels like it should be wednesday and it is only tuesday. :sad1: I think I may be wanting to leave on vacation a bit too much.

I am a day off too! I think it is the anticipation too though. We leave a week from Thursday night and arrive in Cocoa Beach Friday morning. (It is not a long drive from NC.) We will probably go to the beach or to Kennedy Space Center, although we have passes for the WDW water parks... So many choices.

Question of the day

We are flying in 11/4 and staying at the airport Hyatt-I have to work Friday so we aren't flying out until 5:30. It's a short flight from PA (or BWI in MD) so we'll be in Orlando by 8:00 or so. I can't believe it's a week from this Friday!

Yes, let's send some of that rain over Texas and keep the Caribbean calm and storm-free!

Sandy

We fly into Orlando on Friday night - don't arrive until 9:30pm and we are staying at the Hyatt at the airport, as are many of you it seems. I think we'll even have time to hit the roof top pool, hopefully. They said it's open 7am-11pm and we will be feeling like it's 2 hours earlier (on our time in CO) so that might be fun for the kids - if the weather is cooperating. The morning wake up might be a little harder with the time change, but I'm sure everyone will be excited and that will make it easier to get up and get ready to board the shuttle to the Port!! It's hard to imagine actually being there and going since we've been planning it for soooo long and all the anticipation leading up to it makes it seem a little unreal. It will be nice to go and stop the planning and list making and thinking about what needs to get done before we leave....just have a great time on our vacation and try to enjoy every minute!

We also have the early, first dinner, which is good, because my kids like to eat earlier, even though they are sort of night owls. They will enjoy that there is a late buffet or such, they usually decide they are hungry again right before bedtime. :)

We are stopping in Watha, NC to visit family on our drive down. It is also free room and lodging.

What is your estimate on drive time from NC to Orlando?

Where in PA are you located? Me and another guy are from the Pittsburgh area.

Shows are about an hour long, plus time to get out of the theater and get to Palos. Maybe if your all dressed for Palos while your watching the show you might just make it. But you'll have to hustle. Maybe you could sit near the back so you can zip out quickly.

There are so many of you spending friday night at the Hyatt, you should have a mini meet by the pool maybe 30 minutes after the last person is due to arrive.
:cool1:

Quick question: For non-formal nights can I wear a Polo Shirt? I have a suit and tie for Palo/Formal night but is a Polo/Khakis good for the other nights?

Another question: November 6 is when we change our clocks. How do they do that on the ship? Do the other countries we go to "celebrate" daylight savings?

On the Eastern cruise we go through a time change every time. So I guess they may announce the Nov 6th change too. But there will also be another time change. I don't remember whether is is forward or back. But your room host will leave a reminder card in your cabin the night before the change.

Colorado is so beautiful!!! Thank you for sharing the photos!

We fly out the morning of the cruise and I believe we don't board until later. Sounds like we'll be going straight to our meet! All of my luggage will be checked now so I'll be ok :)
