November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

Tim,
we have never docked at Crown Bay either. But I believe it is about 1 1/2 miles from Havensite mall which is walking distance from the Havensite docks.

Guess it will be a new experience this time for us.

I prefer this to tendering. When we tender many with small kids or people who need wheel chairs either have a hard time getting off the ship or cant get off at all.

Good night all,

Kathy

I don't know where we docked at St. Thomas last year (Feb 2010) on our 7 Day Eastern... if it was Havensite Docks or Crown Bay, but here are pictures of where we docked.

And, this is all I saw of St. Thomas because I never got off this ship since this was the day I injured my ankle! :scared1: So, I sat on our veranda that day and enjoyed my view of the St. Thomas port. :lmao: So, I'm very much looking foward this time to seeing more of St. Thomas than just the docks.

Is this Havensite Docks or Crown Bay??

My view of St. Thomas for the day with a swollen leg and wrapped up & iced ankle! :cool1: I just kept thinking (cup is half-full mentality) at least I'm here in the sunny warm Caribbean, and not back in cold, dark, wet Seattle!! So, injured or not, I still had a super great time... how could you not on the Disney Magic in the Caribbean!! :yay:

Looks liek we will have rain to day and tomorrow, then sunny with 70 degrees after that.
Wish I could send some of our rain to Texas.
I'm sure Kathy in Seattle could spare some too this winter. People in the Northwest get wrinkle tans in the winter from all the rain.:lmao:

Kathy

Yup, we have rain, too,... sun is gone... poured yesterday, and we got our first good wind of the fall yesterday (tree branches everywhere in the streets, etc). Power went out in differents parts of the city... our power flickered, but never went out, thank goodness. Weather says we're getting another storm coming in tonight with wind, so hopefully we'll keep our power. It's just going to keep getting worse from here... we usually get our first really strong wind storm & rain storm around Halloween where trees get blown down, power goes out, etc, but maybe we'll get it earlier than that.

I laughed out loud at your "wrinkle tans" comment! :lmao: Sooooooo true!!! :) HAHAHA!!!

Kathy

Kathy,
you were docked at Havensite in tha tphoto. There is a large shopping area right next to the dock area.

I knew you would understand the wrinkled tan comment:lmao:

Happy Monday All! I will not be posting again until next Monday as I will be in Disney!
Gma Kathy: Love the pictures! More More More! And please do send us that rain, preferably while i'm on vacation so i may enjoy the benefits without having to wade through my yard.
So spent my weekend, packing for tomorrow, cleaning house, and printing magnets.
Thanks to Gma Kathy for many of them. (i won't show them all you, have to come to my door to see the rest)

Alyssa,
love the door signs. Both are great.
Have fun at Disney. I am soooo JEALOUS!!!

But just a few weeks and we will be at WDW for a week prior to the cruise, so I guess
i will just have to be patient.

please take some photos to share with us when you get back. I will be waitingpopcorn::

Have a Magical time ,

Kathy

Nice view of St. Thomas! Hope everyone had a great weekend. We got a lot of things done around the house and are still contemplating what to do for our excursion on St. Maarten. We're thinking of getting a cab and doing our own exploration.

I also called our Dr. today and asked if she'd give us the prescription for the sea sickness patch -- just in case. I tend to get vertigo out of nowhere -- like today at my desk while doing a scratch off lottery ticket and finishing my lunch -- and don't want to be stuck at sea. I go to an ENT specialist in a few weeks and hope he changes my allergy meds and that this goes away. Have had it 3 or 4x's this year and I suspect seasonal allergies are the cause. GSO is the NC allergy capital - lots of green trees of all kinds.

DS keeps asking to go to DisneyWorld today. He has no concept of reservations, flights and travel time. He wants to just go and I wish we could too - hence, the lottery ticket!

Have a great day everyone.

Have fun in Disney:yay:

We went to Six Flags yesterday, we ended up getting season passes to use next year, DH said we might as well, as it will be a while before we go back to WDW:scared1:

Its ok apparently the Disney Cruise does not count, phew :yay:

Called Avis location in St. Thomas and they confirmed that Crown Bay is closer to the Airport than Havensight. Looking at Google Maps Crown bay seems to be about 3 miles through the industrial docks to Havensight.

I was going to make my DW walk from Cruise ship after going to Coki Beach, and Mageans bay, but reading about the lack of sidewalks I think I'll be chauffeuring them to downtown and back.

Does anyone do pin trading. My DD doesn't but we thought we might try our hand at it this trip to DW, and DCL is suppose to trade something.

Happy Monday! Thanks for the pictures everyone-Alyssa, love the door magnets! Have a great trip to WDW. And the St. Thomas pictures were beautiful-except for poor Kathy's foot-yikes, that looked sore! It sounds like we won't have to tender and the experts here agree that's better-I'm hoping we'll (well, I'm hoping, not sure about Jay!) have time to shop a little when we return from our beach excursion. It looks like there are places near the dock to do that? Maybe jewelry? :)
Switzert, I don't trade pins myself, but I know I read in my PassPorter guide the crew members will trade pins. I'll check and see if they mention a get-together for trading.
Have a good evening!

Check your Navigator paper because last time they had 2 or 3 trading sessions for pins. I have tons of pins but have never traded them. I have them displayed on a cork board on the wall.
My son gave me a few of his special cast member only pins and a special award pin given to him by the President of Epcot.:upsidedow

Also in the stores and a few other CM's around the ship will be wearing lanyards with pins on them. They will trade with you anytime, not just at trading time.:)

ok, how about we take turns posting a question of the day, each day.:goodvibes

It helps us to get to know each other a bit better.
I have done this on most of my cruises. These are general type questions for everyone, usually Disney or cruise related or something about the area they live in..

I will start us off with the 1st question.

1. Who is your favorite Disney character?

Mine is Donald Duck and he is actually tied with Goofy.;)
Greg's favorite is Goofy.
Peter's favorite is Humphrey the Bear.

See how easy that was.
Hopefully by tomorrow everyone will post their favorite character too.
Then one of you can post a question.

Kathy

Hi everyone!
It has been so long since I've posted, but I have been so busy with work and wedding planning.
So I got our itinerary back from DCL. The wedding will be at 4:00 on November 7th on Deck 7 aft. If all of you have time, come by deck 8 aft and watch from above. We would love to have eveyone!
So I booked a private exersion for all of our guests on St Martin. CPT Bob is going to take all 21 of us on a 54 foot catamaran to another island for snorkeling. Food and beverages are provided, so we should have a blast.
I booked the Dooblon snorkel for St. Thomas, parasailing and Family Beach Cabana for Castaway.
I am still interested in doing the FE's. I bought one per stateroom for my guests for their welcome bags. I will send Kathe the name, ages and stateroom numbers when I can pull them all together.
Hope to see everyone at the wedding!!

This sounds fun. :)

I think my favorite character is Goofy. I just like that he's "Goofy"... he makes me laugh.

Ryan (my 9 year old) said his favorite is Donald Duck because he likes the way he talks, and he said that makes him laugh.

Tyler (my 10 -- almost 11 -- year old) said his favorite is Mickey Mouse... he just said he has always liked Mickey the best.

Eric (DH)? I have no idea :confused3... he's still in China, and haven't been able to talk to him today yet because of time zones. If I were to guess, I'd say Goofy for him, too, because anything "goofy" makes him laugh.
