November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

OK, did you know that Walt Disney did not, in fact, freeze his head? I didn't know that until I looked it up. #7

We are heading out, won't be back for awhile, but everyone have a good Sunday.

Hi all,

This will be short since I am typing from my phone. But, just wanted to say hi. Having a great time on the coast w/ dh's extended family. Weather is beautiful (cold, but sunny).

We drive back to Seattle today (5 hr drive, but 6 hrs w/ food & potty stop :) ).

Anyway, haven't been able to read posts since Thurs, but will catch up this week after we get home and i am on my laptop.

I hope all is well....if anyone new has posted since Thursday, welcome!!

Take care,
Kathy

Don't worry about the nonsense. I had to post too, to get my posts up and then ever time I would try it wouldn't let me do it. I think I finally have 17. So what happened to his head? :confused3 OK, did you know that Walt Disney did not, in fact, freeze his head? I didn't know that until I looked it up. #7

Your family pictures are great! Your sons are so handsome! It looks like you were having so much fun!:stitch::figment: My son and I are having fun with these little icons. I didn't know there were so many!:cheer2:lol

Good to see some posting here today.

Been a L O N G day here.
Greg lost his wallet while we were out. So I have been calling and cancelling credit cards and now tomorrow he has to go to DMV and a few other things to get things rolling again.

Also had to wait 2 hours for a doctor appointment which was miserable for DH.:headache:

Glad to be done with all of that phone calling. Thank goodness he still has his passport to use for ID to get his DL again.

Well Its after 3 p.m. and I am going to finallyhave my lunch, then I will return with some photos to share again.

Kathy

Ok its getting close to dinner time so here are a few dishes from the ships menu. They may look small but after 4 or 5 courses you are full. I have photos of dessert some where?? If i find them I will post them soon.

I have been reading disboards for years, but it now seems time to join as it sounds neat to meet. ;) We have a few things in common with other posters as well. Also, we couldn't show up at the meet without posting first! Thanks for all the info everyone has shared. Haven't decided if we will to FE's or not.

Hi everyone,

We are on our way home from Oregon (DH is driving...obviously!:thumbsup2 ), and we are stuck in weekend traffic. :sad2: , so our drive home is now more like a 7 hour trip. So, I decided to check this thread to see if there were any new posts. :) Good way to pass the time on a road trip. :woohoo:

Lyn, you and Brandon are red heads!! I love it!! You probably saw from our family pictures that my youngest son, Ryan, is a red head. :) I love his hair...and people comment on it all the time! Most common question is, "where did he get his red hair from?" The goofy answer I give is, "The mail man." :rotfl2: But, the real answer is both my DH's family and my family have a lot of red heads, so both my DH & I obviously have the red head recessive gene, because neither DH or I have red hair. When our oldest, Tyler, was younger, he had really blonde hair, and DH & I both have dark hair (mine is very dark), so I used to call us the Neopolitan Family because of our hair colors....chocolate, vanilla, strawberry. :rotfl: But, now that Tyler's hair is turning darker, I can't say that anymore. :) But, Ryan is a true red head and will be his whole life... The only thing he does not like about going on Disney Cruises is we have to pile the 70+ sunscreen on him constantly...he burns soooooo easily, and he just gets tired of constant sunscreen. But, other than that, he loves Disney Cruises!! :D

Kathy (gma kathy), sorry about Greg's wallet! Bummer!!! If it is any consolation, my DH hosed his cell phone this weekend. He had it in his pocket and went canoeing w/ the kids in a river... Then, the kids ended up tipping the canoe over, everyone went in the water....and DH's phone was history! :scared1:

So, lost wallets & fried phones seemed to be the Oregon mishaps this weekend. :)

Well, I love all the pictures! Will be fun to meet everyone in November!! :)

Kathy

Kathy,
Sorry to hear about Dh's phone. That's a memory you can all laugh about in ten years or more.;)

Hope the rest of your trip went well. Did you take any photos??

I threw that costume together out of old things I had. I just cut slits in to make them uneven. Of course the boots and Mickey ears I already had. The necklace which doesn't show up good I got the first year the POC movies came out at WDW. It looks like the coin they were after. so it all fell together really fast and cheap. Not sure where it is packed for now so will probably wear pirate t-shirts and eye patches this time.

My daughter and grand daughter had great costumes. Some where I have a photo of them too.

Kathy

Yay, we are HOME!! Oh my goodness, that was the longest drive ever. What should have been a 5 - 5 1/2 hour drive turned out to be an 8 1/2 hour drive. :sad2: We decided that everyone, along with their aunts, uncles, cousins, and neighbors were ALL driving up from the Oregon Coast to Seattle at the same time. :lmao: There was SO much traffic coming from the Oregon Coast to Seattle.... but I guess it is a Sunday on an August weekend, so this is probably the best month out of the year to visit the Oregon Coast. Anyway, glad we are home safe and sound!

I quickly read through the posts from the last few days. Looks like everyone is doing great!

Lyn, I LOVE your family photo! The 3 of you are such a nice looking family. :) And, like I said in an earlier post, I love the red hair!

Kathy (Gma X4), I, myself, did not take any pictures from this weekend because Eric's (my DH) aunt is one of those people who was born with a camera in her hand... so she is always snapping photos. So, she takes a ton of pictures, and then sends them to everyone sometime after the reunion is over.

But, it was a great reunion. This reunion has been happening in August for years and years. This year, there were 5 generations present!! Amazing. Great Grandma is 97 years old, and not doing well at all, this will probably be her last reunion... so it was a special reunion for the whole family since she is the last of her generation... but it was so neat to have 6 month old Great Grand Baby there for Great Grandma. :) Although, she was too weak to hold her great grand baby, but we got some pictures of them together. Anyway, it was a busy reunion, and all of us are totally exhausted, but exhausted for a good reason.

Oh, Kathy (Gma X4), I love the food pictures you posted! Yum!! I LOVE DCL's food!!

We have our very close friends from California coming to visit us tomorrow - Tuesday night, SO I won't be online while they are here... so you won't hear much from me until Tuesday night or Wednesday... been a busy, but fun week for us.

Once they leave, I think the rest of our August should be pretty calm... of course, I'm probably jinxing myself by even saying that. :rotfl2:

I am off to bed... soooo tired!

Take care,
Kathy

Good morning everyone,

We are starting another week, so that means we are one week closer to the cruise!!!:cool1:
I know I said that last monday too but it is true and helps me think that mondays arnt so bad now. Each monday starts us a week closer to the cruise.:banana: So I will probably say that every monday until the cruise:lmao:

Kathy,
glad you had a great time and made it home safely. Our reunion last month was the first since I was about 2 years old. We had 4 generations there but Marlene's family just added a new baby, cant think if she was a 4th or 5th generation?? So we may of had 5 generations too. It was fun and our oldest relatives were a few in their low 80's.
I am hoping someone does it again next year or the year after. There was talk of doing it on the coast next year. Where was your held??
Hope you will share some photos when you get them.:goodvibes

It was only 48 degrees last night. BRRRR!!!
I am so ready for a warm balmy tropical cruise!!!

Back later, I have laundry to do today, so I better get to it.

Kathy

As you can see, by this being my 2nd post, I'm new to logging into disboards. But in an effort to decide whether or not to do FE's, does anyone object to homemade edibles?

Wow busy weekend of posting.
I'm going to break this up into two posts to keep my count up.
So it is MONDAY and still one more week before i can do anything online. Oh well.
I loved all the pictures! Lyn it looks like your husband is really tight with the Mouse in charge! Kathy: the pics of the food look delicious! Sorry to hear about the lost wallet
Sounds like everyone's weekend was eventful. I spent mine battling the ants invading my house. Despite nice dark clouds and lots of thunder, not one drop of rain hit my property, and so the drought in texas continues. The ants are invading after water and i have found it impossible to kill them all. I've decided that drought is worse than flooding at least for me. (although it is close)
