November 4th, 2007 Disney Wonder Roll Call

For those of you considering Atlantis....I just got a weekly Travelzoo and they have a special for $129 ( plus tax, housekeeping etc) for a room right at Atlantis. (yes it includes when we are there!) Any ideas on what the housekeeping fees etc are?

Ok, so I just added it up for the four of us. The tax rate for 4 is about $31, the travel levy comes to just under $16, and it says they can charge up to $18 per person, per day for housekeeping which comes to $72. So now that $129 rate is $248. We're paying $221 at Comfort Suites.

I'm going to play around a little more and see what I come up with...

Hi Guys....I've been kind of busy the past 2 days.

Welcome WDWKevin. Glad you could join our little group - that keeps on growing.

Steph, we will definately get together for the Martini tasting, or tequila tasting or what ever tasting they will let us do. And, the more the merrier (participants that is).

Haven't done any "signage" for the door for this trip yet. Who knows, I may break down this weekend and throw something together if I get time.

My son and I are staying at Pop for 3 nights after the Cruise... We love it there!! He loves the arcade and spends a lot of time....and money there! We are staying at Royal Plaza by Downtown Disney for 2 nights before the cruise...never stayed there before...but have heard since the remodel they did it is very nice!

WE ARE STAYING AT THE POP CENTURY 3 NIGHTS AFTER THE CRUISE ALSO.:cheer2:

OK, it's a deal with that tequila shot! :dance3: Did we all decide on where we're trying to meet up? 6 days till WDW and MNSSHP and 10 days till the WONDER!!:yay:

So, Kris, are you organizing a quick get together so the Disboarder's and Joe :rolleyes1 can meet and say hi?

Is anyone doing the secret green shirt thing???
The green shirt thing is so secret that we have no idea what that means!!?? What if you don't have a green shirt?:laundy:

So, the deck 7 aft area sounds good to me, but I don't have a green shirt:lmao: Richie and I should be able to get there by 3:30.:thumbsup2
We're all packed (finally) except for last minute stuff. Will be dropping our 6 year old West Highland Terrier (he is the "Zak" of Zak's Pack!) off at the vet on Tuesday 10/30 for his "vacation" - definitely not as much fun as WDW, but we always bring a present back for him! And then probably we won't sleep a wink on Tuesday night - too excited about heading for the airport early Wednesday morning...It's almost here!!!

ChrisLei - have you gotten your documents yet? Hope you have by now so you can focus on getting ready for the trip and having fun instead of worrying!:goodvibes

Welcome Heart4PrincePhilip. Glad you are joining us.

To ChrisLei, Zak'sPack2, DAKLNiddy and all of those who are leaving early next week for a few days at the world before the cruise.............Have a WONDERful and safe trip. Enjoy your time at the "world". I envy you, cause we're just doing the cruise this time.

To All: Remember we'll try to meet at the Secret Deck located at 7 aft around 3:15-3:30 on Sunday afternoon if you are able to make it. If not, hopefully we'll catch you at some point. And be on the lookout for any lime green t-shirts - it may just be Nobodycares or anyone of the rest of us. I found that AC Moore Craft stores have their t-shirts on sale for 2.99 this week so I'll check for the lime green ones.
If you see me - you can't miss me - I am female (of course) 6 ft tall, not quite pooh size, but not skinny by any means, mid 50's, shoulder length light brown hair and I wear glasses. We have early dinner seating and we'll be at Palo brunch at 11:00am. And if you hadn't picked it up before, my name is Kris. I will be very happy to meet you.

Once again, have a good and safe journey.

We will should be on the ship by 12:00 pm so we will try and make the get-toether on deck 7 at 3:15 pm. Looking forward to meeting everyone:cheer2: .

Since I'm a photography nut, maybe I'll use the excuse that I'm going to take some pictures... then I'll sneak back there and say hi. :goodvibes

Don't shoot the messenger!!!! I read about this green shirt thing on the boards. It's not required - just a way for Dis'ers to spot each other.

I am optimistic that I'll be on board in time for the 3:15-3:30 meeting on secret deck 7. (I knew about that area on the boards too.)

We are on Deck 1 - late seating - and have decided not to do Aquaventure - but rather to use those funds for our next cruise (which we are hoping to book onboard). We will probably be doing the Acquarium/Dig - Atlantis Beach day in Nassua.

Happy packing and safe journeys to all.

I'm so excited - We are getting close enough to see extended weather forcasts for the Bahamas - 11/4 looks good - hope the weather cooperates for the rest of our week.

Joe - You're pictures are great, what kind of camera do you use? I am trying to learn about all the features of my camera so I won't be using the auto setting for everything but when I try out different things the auto takes the best pic, so it's smarter than I am.

 Just checked on line and we have our room # now, we are on deck 7 too! Although we still haven't received our docs yet. They said if we didn't get them in 3 days (which is today) to let them know, so I hope we get them today.:woohoo:

Still have alot to do and I really need to start packing.:rolleyes1

Hi tyedye... Thanks! I use a Sony Cybershot DSC-H2... I've messed around with the manual settings, but for the most part I use the fully auto mode, it seems to do just fine - and in most cases better than I can do in manual mode. I plan to someday move up to a DSLR, but I'm not quite ready for that yet. I've only been real serious into photography for about a year. I could spend a whole day in each park doing nothing but taking pictures. There is so much to photograph in Disney World. I'm hoping the ship is similar. It's Disney so I'm sure it will be. :goodvibes

I have a similar type camera (Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20)with a 12x optical zoom too but it's over 3 years old now, ancient in terms of technology today, but still a decent camera. I have looked into the dSLR route but am not ready to carry all the equipment vs one camera with large zoom. I really think I need to learn more about the manual settings before upgrading or when they release more cameras that will do a decent job taking pics with an 18x optical zoom.

Just contacted Atlantis and I got a room for $129.00 on November 5th for all day. I was told on the question board that Travelzoo has a special going on right now until December 24th for the Atlantis. I am able to do everything at the Atlantis with no restriction. Total charge was $164.00 that includes room, facilities , tax and housekeeper fees. This reservation was for 3 people . That's $54.00 per person. I think that is a great deal.

Check it out.Call Atlantis 1-800 reservation # on there website to make reservation.

We can't wait to go. 9 more days to go YEH !!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3:

My family and I (DH, DS-10, DD-7) will be there! We will be at POP after the cruise until 11/16.:cloud9: The wait is KILLIN' US!!!

I have a 10yo son and a 7yo daughter as well! :cheer2: I see that you are in Roseville; we're in San Jose and we had looked into moving up that way earlier this year. Unfortunately it didn't work out but I love Roseville!

We're spending two days prior to the cruise at WDW as well. By total coincidence I bought us all matching Disney t's in different colors, and mine is lime green! It's pretty bright and hideous, so I was planning on changing after we board, but maybe I'll keep it on. :lmao:
