November 4th, 2007 Disney Wonder Roll Call

Will be looking for Monica in her "hideous" bright green shirt - I'll be wearing my lime green shirt too!!

You totally cracked me up! :rotfl2: Lime green is actually my favorite color, but neon...not so much. ;)

I have to say I love the lime green too...I actually have a few shirts in various shades....It goes well with my haircolour! (I'm a redhead)

I'm trying to get some packing done too. For months I have put stuff in my closet for "the trip" and now I've gotta figure out where it all is! (not to mention WHAT it is)

FOR ALL OF YOU HAVE PACKED GOOD FOR YOU! I STARTED 2 WEEKS AGO BUT HAVE NOT FINISHED! I'VE BEEN BUSY RUNNING, MAKING DOOR SIGN'S, WORKING,DD CHEER PRACTICE, ETC. GETTING MYSELF READY FOR THE I-95 RIDE FROM NJ TO FL FRIDAY WITH MY DM&DD! I'LL GONA BE A LONG RIDE!!!!!!!!!:upsidedow :upsidedow
I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GOOD TRIP!:cheer2: :cheer2:
LORI

OK Hoogy - You wear a lime green shirt too!!! Monica and I don't want to be lonely.

Lori: I'm jealous that you are driving down. My favorite part of the drive is eating at Cracker Barrel! :car: You have no airlines worries - lost bags, packing liquids, don't have to worry about ground transporation, etc. etc.

I will be attempting to get my lime green T sometime this week, so, hopefully, I will be joining you.

For those driving I-95, if you are at the lower end of Georgia sometime during a meal time, my very favorite BBQ place is at exit 3 at the lower end of Georgia. It's called "Blue's Southern BBQ". It is the best IMHO. It is not the regular red sauce based BBQ, it is more of a mustard based sauce. The first time I had it, I wanted to lick the container clean!! When you get off the exit, go towards your left. I believe you then have to cut across to a secondary road that parallels the main road. Blues is a small white building right next to the Wendy's. You can't miss it, just follow the aroma.

Now, Noel can just hurry up and get out of the Bahamas and not do any damage to our beloved Castaway Cay.

See you all soon.

We're driving down 95 from DC area on Sat, hope to drive to close to FLA, then to the port on Sun.

Still have lots to do, I did go to Michaels today to get some photo mats to drop off for signatures, haven't packed anything.:rolleyes1 :hourglass

By Friday Noel should be far north of the Bahamas but lets hope she doesn't do much damge to any of the islands especially CC.

Here's a post from the trip reports forum at 11am today:

From weather.com:
Tropical Storm Noel (45 mph) is temporarily stuck in Cuba, but should move into the Bahamas during the day tomorrow.

As of 11 a.m. EDT, the center of Noel was moving westward over Cuba about 40 miles ESE of Camaguey. The storm is expected to continue on this track for another 18 to 24 hours, then churn northward away from the island nation toward the Bahamas.

Noel could weaken a bit more today, then regain some strength as it swirls through the northwest Bahamas late tomorrow or tomorrow night on a northeasterly course.

Heavy downpours continue to plague Hispaniola where up to 30 inches of rain may eventually be measured. Flash floods and mud slides are likely occurring.

Heavy rain and squalls will spread through the Bahamas over the next day or two, with totals of 5 to 10 inches (isolated 15 inches) expected there as well as in eastern Cuba.

Meanwhile, gusty winds will continue along the Southeast coast of the U. S. due to the pressure gradient between Noel and strong high pressure moving eastward from the Mid-Atlantic states. Gale warnings are posted from Altamaha Sound, Ga., to Jupiter Inlet, Fla. High surf advisories are in effect from the mouth of the South Santee River in South Carolina to Deerfield Beach, Fla.

Does anyone know how this will affect WDW? Or is it far enough inland to not be a concern?

Don't worry about your weather....I'm a local and they love to hipe it up, I'm sure you'll have crystal clear skies on Nov. 4th.;)
It was nice writing to you all on the boards and I have continued to check out your info and will miss meeting your exciting group. Have a great time on your cruise! Warm up the ship for us!!

Thanks for the comforting words regarding the weather. The 10 day forecast actually looks great for Orlando area (so much for Weather Channel!) You enjoy your cruise and let us know how it went, OK?

Well, I take the above back after reading further on from when I responded to drc712's note:confused: Well, whatever the weather will be, we can't do anything about it. So bring those rain ponchos (and the sunscreen:cool2: ) and hope for the best!! Hopefully, Noel will be FAR AWAY by Sunday. As for MNSSHP tomorrow night, guess we'll pack those rain ponchos. Anyone know what's supposed to be going on at WDW for the next couple of days?
When we were at WDW last Christmas, we had 3 tornadoes in the Orlando area on Christmas Day and rain the whole 8 days we were there...but we were at Disney World, so there's always something great going on.
See you all soon...safe driving....enjoy that barbecue place...safe travel to al those flying in. :flower3:

Glad Henlady will also be decked out in lime green - that's 4 of us now!! Not to late to get on board cruisers.

I said I wasn't going to do it, but I couldn't help it. Just got a fabulous pair of boots for my pirate outfit!!! :pirate: Had to sacrifice some other shoes from the pile to be packed to make room, but it will be worth it. Toying with the idea of suiting up in my pirate outfit on Castaway Cay day to have my picture taken in all my pirate glory in front of the Flying Dutchman!!!

Keep watching those weather updates. My heart goes out to those cruisers who were at Castaway Cay today. I imagine the weather was very bad for them today.

Many fond memories of the drive up and down I-95 since 1971. Once I had my license, and got to help with the driving, I drove right past South of the Border without stopping and my father pouted for at least a half an hour. Cracker Barrel is wonderful but it does slow us down considerably every time I stop there for my fix.

AFTER ALL THE TRIPS UP AND DOWN I-95 AT AGE 36 ONLY BEEN TO SOUTH OF THE BORDER ONCE! DAD FELL ASLEEP HE WOKE UP TO MOM I BUYING JUNK! MAYBE THIS TIME WE WILL GET LUCKY AND MY DD CAN SEE INSIDE SOUTH OF THE BORDER BEFORE HER 20'S! NOT JUST LOOK THERE IT WAS!:rotfl2:
WE DO HAVE CRACKER BARREL IN NJ NOW ALSO! I'M SURE MY DD WILL MAKE US SANDWICHES:rolleyes: I DON'T REALLY LIKE SANDWICHES OH WELL. :cheer2: :ccat:

Ok...we just had a 5.6 earthquake here while the kids and I were at the grocery store. Now a tropical storm isn't looking so bad. :scratchin

I was thinking of you when the news came on. Everything OK?

We are...I just hope that was it! We had a few shelf items fall (books, scrapbooks) and all of my frames are sideways, but that was it. In some way it was comforting to be with a group of people, especially since if you have to be trapped a grocery store isn't a bad place to be. ;)

Wow, We don't have those in the east coast. Thank god!!!!. I would be so scared if that happened. I am glad you are alright.

Just think in 5 days you will be on the ship having a drink and relaxing. That should keep you going.

Haven't packed anything in the suitcase yet. but have it out ready to go. Need to get a few things. Looking for a lime green shirt. Not sure if I will find one.

We are starting to get excitied here . Just so much to do and I feel like my head is going to burst.

:dance3:

MonicaD, Glad things are OK with all of you. Earthquakes must be a scary thing. Have never experienced one and never want to. I guess you're right, a grocery store wouldn't be a bad place to be trapped (if you had to be trapped that is), especially if it would be the candy or ice cream section. Couldn't let all that ice cream go to waste:lmao:
Have a good and hopefully quiet rest of the day.

Monica - glad you are all ok.

Steph - hope you find that lime green shirt so you can join the green shirt club!!!:thumbsup2:

Comet Mom - have a great drive.

Sending out best wishes for happy packing, safe journeys, good weather and a wonderful vacation to all.

Happy Halloween!!!!!!

Happy Halloween To All.
Monica I Hope All Is Ok With You Guys.
Steph - Don't Worry I Don't Have A Green Shirt Either.
