November 4th, 2007 Disney Wonder Roll Call

Semi Formal night is a specific night, not a specific dining room. In Oct 05 it was Monday night, and Pirate Night was the night we were at Castaway Cay.

For semi-formal night, I did not notice any real difference in styles of dress from the other nights. I wore dress slacks or skirts and nice tops/blouses, and DH wore trousers or khakis and nice golf type or button front shirts and we were just fine. I'm sure you will see all modes of dress in the dining rooms on any given night. But to be quite honest, I really don't look at what anyone else is wearing. I may notice if someone was dressed very inappropriately - say shorts and a tank top, but it wouldn't bother me or cause me not to enjoy my meal.

Thanks Henlady for your response to the attire inquiry.

Men have it so easy whenever they go out! It is either suit or khaki's and a polo shirt, depending on the occasion.

Women, on the other hand, have to figure out just how dressy is dressy so that we won't be over or under dressed.

I'm not going to worry about it much for the cruise, just was getting a feel for what everyone else was doing about the semi formal. The way I see it, there are always people who are overdressed and underdressed. I want to be somewhere in the middle!!!:cool1:

I feel the same way. We are wearing what we choose (well, what I choose ;) ) but to each his own. I don't get bent out of shape about that kind of stuff. :goodvibes

I will be wearing for semi formal night. A pair of nice black capri pants and a nicer shirt to go with it. Not getting to dressed up. I am on vacation and like to be dressed nice but not to formal.

Haven't done a thing yet for this trip. Been so busy with other things. I know I will get it all done the last week.

P.S. Congrats to the soon to be newlyweds/honeymooners; Hopefully we will see you on board in the Minnie Wedding ears!!!

Thanks!! You'll probably see my wedding ears....but not the DF's. First he isn't really into them anyways, and second his head is a little large, so they don't fit him as well. :)

DAKLNiddy -

I hope your Disney-style wedding is absolutely perfect.

Since WDW holds a special place in my heart, my husband proposed to me in the Magic Kingdom . He spent all day looking for Mickey Mouse and when he finally found him, he proposed right in front of Mickey Mouse.
(We just celebrated our 16th anniversary last week.)

We will look for you wearing your wedding ears!!!! :bride:

THANK YOU!!!!!! I think we are going to do that for the morning in Nassau, then head back for the boat activities in the afternoon.

WE ARE STILL UNSURE OF WHAT TO DO IN NASSAU! I WOULD LIKE THE BEACH AND SOME SHOPPING.

O.K...I just made up my mind about our day in Nassau.... My DS12 and I are going to take a taxi over to the Wyndham...pay $15 each and spend the day at the pool and beach... I looked it up on the internet and the pool likes nice...even has a waterslide... We'll hang out there until 4:00 or so and head back to the ship... Anyone else seriously thinking about doing this? Maybe we could taxi over together....?? :confused3

Hi there everyone!

Still no documents here :sad1: I did call my TA and she said she recieved them. She will be mailing them out DHL. Don't know if they deliver on Saturdays. I think I won't be recieving them till Monday at the earliest.

YOU SHOULD EMAIL THEM TO CHECK IF THE POOL IS READY. I EMAILED THEM ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND THEY SAID THE POOL IS CLOSED FOR REPAIRS!

Hi everyone! My DF and I are getting married on Halloween and sailing off on the three-night cruise on the 1st, but we will be staying on for the four-night cruise on the 4th. We will be Disneymooning on DCL! YAY! SO I thought I'd say hello...someone else directed me here. We'll be giddy at that point for more vacation!

WOW - what a fabulous wedding that's going to be!! Where is the ceremony taking place? Congratulations!!!:tink:

Hey dudes :wave2: You can put me on the list but don't tell my wife :rotfl: She's not a real fan of Disney and I had to talk her into doing this trip. It will be my 30th b-day (Nov 8, I know disembark day :upsidedow ) If she even knew I was writing this right now she'd kill me :scared:

So maybe I'll see ya all around. Here is what our family looks like:

DSC02684-1.jpg

We are Joe (myself, 29/30), Bridget (wife, 29), Olivia (daughter, 6) and Anna (daughter, 3). Nevermind the lady in the green shirt. That is Grandma and she isn't sailing with us... This will also be our first Disney Cruise :yay: I don't know why it would matter, unless you want to ding-dong-ditch us, but our stateroom is #7020. We have early dining...

So yeah, if you see us, come say hi! :) Just don't say you know me from the Dis :rolleyes1
Hi, Joe - We don't know you from the DISboards!!:rolleyes1 Looks like you have a very nice family. P.S. You should take Grandma with you!

Our docs came yesterday. No upgrade - still cat 11 on deck 6. I've always been on deck 2 before in a cat 9, so we'll see how I like this room. No Palo brunch for me - since it's just DD7 and I cruising. We will explore Nassau on our own - probably go to Ardastra and do some shopping in town.
Hi F1Julie -
We are doing Ardastra also, so maybe we'll see you there (booked through Disney). DH will probably be the one that the parrot lands on his head!:cool1:

Just got home from work and guess what I found waiting for me.........YES, those beautiful DOCUMENTS

Already filled out what I could online, but it's nice to see those Bahamas forms and the luggage tags. YEAH:dance3:

Yah, Kris!! It was exciting seeing those documents after all this waiting! We added some info on your cruise list. I think we'll be getting to the port about 12noon or so (using DCL transport from WDW Beach Club - I think we leave WDW about 11am. The Palo brunch sounds terrific!! Guess we'll try the welcome buffet at Parrot Cay (or Beach Blanket) - anyone know which is better?
Can't believe THE DAY is almost here!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Joe...repeat after me "I am NOT a freak....I am NOT a freak".
I am 55yo, and DH is 56 and we still love disney. After all these years, it is still our favorite vacation destination and for our "children" are 24 and 26 it is still their favorite vacation. Our (DH & I) first trip was way back in 1976.
I am currently planning a trip for next Sept for us, the "kids" their mates and my grandson. So, you see, you are normal. Be happy. You are among friends.
Hi Kris -
I am 55, too and my hubby is 56 - although we got a LATE start becoming Disney addicts (only since last October), we now are full-fledged "normal" Disney nuts. My stepdaughter and the grandchildren are SUPER Disney nuts...they go either to WDW or DL every year (sometimes more than once) and we often would wonder why in the world wouldn't they want to vacation someplace different? NOW WE UNDERSTAND!!!!pixiedust:

OK, now...time to walk away from the computer and GO PACK!!!
Packing lists are ready, toiletries are purchased, Bahamas forms, etc filled out, no more excuses not to finally go and put everything in the suitcases!! 11 days till Disney and 15 days till our WONDERful cruise...:cloud9:
