November 4th, 2007 Disney Wonder Roll Call

Glad to hear Monica has a green shirt too - I don't want to be the only one!!!

Actually, it will make it easy for my DH and DD not to lose me.

Great news on your rate at the Atlantis Steph - did you have to book it through travel zoo???

I have a 10yo son and a 7yo daughter as well! :cheer2: I see that you are in Roseville; we're in San Jose and we had looked into moving up that way earlier this year. Unfortunately it didn't work out but I love Roseville!

Excellent...a Californian invasion!! Almost hard to leave right now - the weather has been so amazing here (but I think we can sacrifice ;) ). I LOVE Roseville, too - lived here all my life. So many changes since I was a kid, but great changes. You may just see us on the ship - look for our matching shirts that say Roseville, CA. We have friends who live in San Jose, so we have been there quite often. Have a safe trip there.

I called Atlantis reservation and mentioned the travelzoo rate and she gave it to me.
You can go and have a day pass at Atlantis but it's $105 for adults and $75 for childern. This was cheaper to do.

Stephanie :cheer2:

LOOKS LIKE DECK 7 IS THE PLACE TOO BE!:cool2: :cheer2:
WE HOPE TO BE AT THE PORT BY 10:30 IF I CAN GET MY DM AND DD MOVING!

I just called to inquire about the $129 rate from Travelzoo.
They were going to surcharge $45 more because DD is 13.
Plus 12% tax = $21 & housekeeping and gratuity fees ($45 for the 3 of us) (She kept changing these numbers around on housekeeping gratuitites and services fees - from $10 pp to $20 to $15 - so I still am not sure how much that was going to be -the last figure she mentioned was $15 pp)

That $125 NON REFUNDABLE rate quickly jumped to $240
plus cab fare plus lunch = $$$$$$ (easily over $300) and if the weather is bad :sad2:

That's just tooooooo much $$ for some waterslides. We'll just wait to go back to Typhoon Lagoon the next time we are at the Mouse House.

Will probably take the acquarium tour because we all want to do that; pop into the straw market for some shopping; and head back to the ship.

Glad that the numbers worked out in your favor Steph and thanks very much for the info.

Hello,
We are three people and my DD is 8 years old. I was charged on my card $164.00 even. The cab fare is $4.00 per person plus tip and as for lunch I am going to order sandwiches from room service that morning and will take them with me to Atlantis in a small soft sided cooler. Great way to save money. I got that tip from someone on this board. :cheer2:

Nobodycares I wish it worked out for you. I would call again and get someone that know what there doing. Tell them your son is 12 years old. That must be the cutoff age and then see what the price is.

Thanks for your post Steph.

Our daughter is 13 and soooooo tall that no one would ever believe she was 12.

For $164 it was a great deal for you but the numbers are just not going to work in our favor. If we were 2 adults and younger child - bargain city; but with us being charged as 3 adults - :sad2:

I can't go on the waterslides anyway; and DD looked at the Atlantis site and admitted that she really only liked 2 or 3 of the slides.

We are all looking forward to seeing the acquarium and hope your family has a fabulous time at the waterpark. :)

Welcome Heart4PrincePhilip. Glad you are joining us.

To ChrisLei, Zak'sPack2, DAKLNiddy and all of those who are leaving early next week for a few days at the world before the cruise.............Have a WONDERful and safe trip. Enjoy your time at the "world". I envy you, cause we're just doing the cruise this time.

To All: Remember we'll try to meet at the Secret Deck located at 7 aft around 3:15-3:30 on Sunday afternoon if you are able to make it. If not, hopefully we'll catch you at some point. And be on the lookout for any lime green t-shirts - it may just be Nobodycares or anyone of the rest of us. I found that AC Moore Craft stores have their t-shirts on sale for 2.99 this week so I'll check for the lime green ones.
If you see me - you can't miss me - I am female (of course) 6 ft tall, not quite pooh size, but not skinny by any means, mid 50's, shoulder length light brown hair and I wear glasses. We have early dinner seating and we'll be at Palo brunch at 11:00am. And if you hadn't picked it up before, my name is Kris. I will be very happy to meet you.

Once again, have a good and safe journey.
Thanks for the safe journey wishes, Kris! It's 8:20pm on Sunday and DH just told me that there might be a hurricane :scared1: off the Florida coast on Thursday!!!! DH is getting nervous - he can't swim :rotfl2: Hope we're not in for bad weather on 11/4...
We will definitely be looking for the "secret deck 7 aft" area about 3:15pm so we can say "hi" to everyone we've been "talking" to for the last 2 1/2 months - and of course, we have to figure out when that tequila shot is going to take place!:dance3: I have short brown hair and 5'6" (not skinny, either) and DH looks like he could have played a part on "The Sopranos" show (we've actually had people ask us if he was on the show!) He wasn't, but he is from the area where the show was filmed.
ChrisLei - so glad you finally have your documents!
Let's hope for clear skies and smooth seas next Sunday (no hurricanes, please!!)
Safe journeys to all of you and see you soon.

Looooooooooooong day of packing today. :laundy:

Argh - I hope we don't have serious weather concerns. I'll have to go google some weather forecasts. :happytv: If you saw a concern for Thursday - hopefully it will blow over before we leave. :cloud9:

Excited about all the planning coming together for a wonderful vacation.

I hope you are right Denise! We leave to the World on Wednesday and looking at that weather forecast for the week is a bit scary!!! :scared1: Enjoy your cruise!

Hello fellow cruisers,
Checked the NOAA website this morning and it appears that our little friend
Hurricane Noel should be out of the Bahamas by Friday/Saturday. Hopefully he doesn't do any damage to Castaway Cay.

On our last cruise in Oct 05, we had a brush with Wilma and although we were able to dock at Castaway on a beautiful day, anyone who wanted to swim (families and adults alike) had to use the Serenity bay area. Serenity bay was quickly overcome so we headed back to the family beach and it was practically deserted. Couldn't go out into the water, but the beach was wonderful and we could take a chair down and sit at the waters edge. The reason the water was off limits was because the storm had torn down the netting that sectioned off the stingray area and they were out in the swimming area and they didn't want anyone stepping on them.

:cool1: Our documents came today! DH is home and said we got something from DCL but hasn't opened it yet.:confused3 But I'm sure it's our documents.:cool1:

So now the tropical storm can just hurry on by or go out to sea so we can all enjoy our cruise. :beach:

I still haven't packed a thing!:hourglass

Hi everyone! :wave2:

We are almost packed, but I still have a couple of things to buy. I only have today and tomorrow to get ready as I have room mom duty on Wednesday with back to back parties and Halloween in the evening, so the stress is setting in. :worried: Add to that the fact that dd and I are battling head colds...hopefully everything will be better by the end of the week!

Hope everyone has a safe journey and let's continue to keep our fingers crossed for good--well, decent at least--weather. :worship:

I will try to remember about the secret meeting, but I may get distracted and forget. :thumbsup2 Just remember I will have my hideously bright green shirt (it has Mickey ears with all of the characters inside it) on so if you see me feel free to say hi!

Congrats on finally getting your docs Tyedye!!

We are almost completely packed. Have the bag for the train, the bag for Cocoa Beach, the bagS for the cruise and the bag for the return home on the train. Everything but some socks and underwear is pretty much packed. Now we just have to WAIT.:rolleyes1

Packing? probably will do that Sunday morning. I am soo bad!

DD and DH are finally getting into packing mode. Guess they finally clicked after seeing me going to town with preparations. I spent a good part of Sunday sorting, planning, organizing and ironing clothing. Everywhere I look, travel size necessities, pirate gear, luggage tags, suitcases, etc.

Trying to minimize the shoe-fest and convince DD (13) that she doesn't need to bring a different pair of shoes for each and every outfit. At last count, she has packed 5 bathing suits - What the heck, they don't take up much space. Haven't actually put anything into the luggage yet but that is the easy part.

Picked up a couple of more things today. Still need to get a paperback for the flight. Actually, a nap on the plane would be lovely. :cloud9:

It was a brisk fall day here in Southern NJ - fall colors and a nip in the air. Looking forward to basking in the warmth of the Bahamas!!!!

Some great threads on the main boards about pre-trip anxiety - fears of forgetting passports/documents; and a great board about reminding folks not to pack all your clothes into your luggage the last night so you have something to wear when you disembark!! I'm so glad we have this forum. Getting there has been half the fun.

Will be looking for Monica in her "hideous" bright green shirt - I'll be wearing my lime green shirt too!!
